(I've changed my rating on the review below from one to three stars because in the end Orchid Flowers did redeliver some flowers to my friend. I haven't seen them yet, but she says they are nice.)
I am surprised to see that Felip has gotten so many favorable reviews, when in this case he acted so unprofessionally. I ordered through "JustFlowers.com", and maybe he thought I wouldn't find out which florist filled the order.
I ordered the "Ocean of Dreams" arrangement from http://JustFlowers.com for a friend who is very ill. I wanted to cheer her up, but the experience has turned into an ordeal for both of us. The order was filled by Felip at Orchid Florist.
The arrangement was listed at $89.00, but I paid $118.00 including tax, delivery charges, etc. I put a message to the florist saying that I would be viewing the flowers and to please do a great job.
The flowers were delivered on Wednesday. They were left on her porch, which I think is unprofessional. I saw them on Thursday and was disappointed. The rubrum ("stargazer") lilies, which normally last a long time, were already curling and turning brown. Even the unopened buds were brown on the tips; I didn't think they would look good when they opened. The water in the vase was murky. These were not $89.00 worth of flowers, although the site claims their prices are about 20% off the normal price.
The arrangement didn't look nearly as nice as the one in the photo. As my friend described them, "It just looked like someone tried to cram as many flowers as possible in the vase." While I was visiting her I cut off the damaged blooms, tried to arrange them better, and changed the water in the vase.
I love flowers and often order them for other people. Twice in the past when I have been dissatisfied with an arrangement (delivered by other florists), they have promptly offered a credit or a fresh arrangement. This is what I expected, but what I got was an ordeal which has still not been resolved.
On Friday I called "Just Flowers" and spent 45 minutes, mostly on hold. I explained the problem. They called Orchid Florist and told me that the florist insisted the flowers were perfect. I pointed out that since they were left on the porch, maybe they had been sitting in the sun, but when I saw them less than a day later they were in poor condition. Eventually they said they would call my friend, the recipient of the flowers. I didn't want to bother her as she is very ill, but I had no choice.
Felip from Orchid Florist called her. She described the flowers and he basically told her she was lying. He insisted that all his flowers were fresh and that he had delivered exactly what I had ordered.
Finally he said he would pick up the arrangement today (Friday), add some fresh blooms, and return them to her. That was at 3:00 PM. She put the arrangement on her porch because she had a doctor's appointment. When she returned from the doctor they were still there. At 8:00 PM she checked and they had been removed from the porch. It is now 10:30PM and no flowers have been re-delivered to her.
I am waiting to see what happens, but I am very surprised and disappointed with this lousy customer service. read more
