Getting the motivation to work out is SO hard, so I love being able to show up and have someone kind just tell me what to do, lol. The coaches are incredible and super welcoming. But what truly makes Orca Strength amazing is the community & inclusivity. Each class beings with introductions that include names, pronouns, and sharing a gratitude or success of that day. That attitude of reflection and intentionality meet you where you are is what keeps me coming back. Highly recommend! read more

Orca Strength CrossFit - Mobility after a class session in the community space - Interval Training Gyms Near Me - Seattle, Washington

This is hands down the best CrossFit gym my partner and I have been to. We've been doing CrossFit now for the better part of the last 10 years and have seen a few boxes as we've moved houses a few times and this is the box that truly gets it. First off, the owners are involved daily! You see them on the floors, coaching, knowing the goals and abilities of all their members. That is so valuable! The environment that the owners foster here is safety, respect, push yourself, respect, and community (with respect). This place is such a beacon in the community, providing a safe and inclusive space for ALL to come and get your sweat on. Coaches are ALL amazing, I have no favorites because they are all great. I've been to some boxes where I'd avoid going at certain times because I just didn't like the coach but here that is not the case. All are very friendly, knowledgeable, and overall good people. The community here is unlike any other box. Everyone is tight, checks in on each other, respects each other, and cheers each other on. Workouts are tough! Not impossible, as anything can be scaled to your ability but if you're looking for a good sweat, this is your spot. Facilities are clean, love that they have showers in case I have to go to work after. Andy and Maria (owners) really have something special here. I'm so happy to be a part of it. read more

Coming here has improved my physical and mental health SIGNIFICANTLY. I came to strengthen my body & stayed because of the community. I can't imagine working out anywhere else - Andy & María make it fun to show up. Plus, how many people get to say they do CrossFit with their family??? Including my 9yo brother - we have 7 family members who all. Show. Up.!! read more

Been a member here for almost 2 years after moving to Seattle. I'd been doing CrossFit for a few years already so finding a new gym was one of my first to-dos. Orca Strength Crossfit (previously Tiltshift) was the first and only place I tried out. I knew after only a few classes that I didn't have to look elsewhere because I sensed immediately all the hallmarks of a great CrossFit gym: community-minded inclusivity, challenging workouts that can be scaled to meet you wherever you are in your fitness journey (from newcomer to veteran), and of course thoughtful, attentive coaches who all emphasize technique, mobility, and safety standards. Shoutouts to Andy, Maria, Michael, Tate, and Stacy, who all help you feel like your fitness journey doesn't have to be a solo act. read more

Tiltshift may be one of the best Crossfit places in Seattle. coaching is 10/10, membership make-up 10/10, and the programming is definitely 10/10. Of note: I have been a member of a number of different CF boxes in Seattle over the last 10-12 years, so I feel like I can say confidently that Tiltshift stands out from the rest. Here's why. Keeping it real: the coaching here is much more centered around achievement of YOUR goals, not the gym's goals. This leads to a place where you can feel included and empowered to do your best and that's enough. Where CF gets its bad rep is often rooted in the idea that the whiteboard must be all massive weights and Rx PRs. Don't get me wrong, Tiltshift is challenging and you'll get pushed, but artful coaching leads that pushing to be from inside you, not at you. Community: See above. The result of less bro dude 'tude from the coaching team leads to a stronger and more accepting community. I'm in decent shape and I'm outgoing and social, but I've ALWAYS felt intimidated at Crossfit gyms, I just figured it came with the territory. Until now. So sign up, drop in if you're traveling, come by and see how great you can feel in the right environment. read more

Fantastic spot! SUPER clean, and the coaches are phenomenal and willing to meet you wherever you are on your fitness journey.

Always a great workout at Tiltshift Lab. The coaches are phenomenal and definitely keep an eye on the newer, inexperienced crossfitters (speaking from experience). Chelsea is a great owner and promotes a positive, encouraging community atmosphere. There hasn't been a class dynamic that I haven't enjoyed myself in while simultaneously knowing I'll be sore the following day. It's a fantastic gym with the coolest people. Plus, Luna, the world's best behaved dog, is always there to greet you with her ball! Saturday community classes are easily some of the most fun and energetic, plus they're free! read more

I was able to stop in for a workout and I was extremely impressed by the size of the space, cleanliness and how kind everybody was! Not to mention, the coaching and workout was excellent! I was fortunate enough to meet the new owner, my guess is she will take this gym to the next level! I'm excited for the community there and what's in store for them and it makes me wish I lived a lot closer. I'll definitely be recommending this gym to my friends and family! read more

I signed up for the intro RAMP program at the LAB. Needless to say I am getting my ass kicked. And I love it. Crossfit can sometimes get a bad rap because if you don't get the form down correctly you can seriously injure yourself. (I see a physical therapist for some knee pain and she sees this a lot). The RAMP program allows you to work on the fundamentals so you don't do something stupid... like try to do it and home and get knee problems, where you end up spending a ton of money to see a physical therapist just to be mobile again. Just saying. I consider myself to be in reasonable good shape and I am happy to say just the intro class destroys. Second class in and I feel sore to the core. A lot of repetition, fast, and stretches afterwards to help recover. The program changes every class so your muscles are always in for a mindfuck. The instructors are really nice and supportive, but more importantly helpful. Definitely looking forward to more classes and moving forward. read more

Ten weeks in and I am officially a convert. I was definitely skeptical about the whole crossfit mantra at first. I thought, why pay so much more for a regimented schedule? But, I have noticed a big difference from my usual mundane gym workouts previously. Before crossfit, I would go to my gym, throw my headphones in and workout on my own. If I didn't feel like doing a last set, I would say, "ah, next time" and be done. At crossfit, I feel motivated to push myself through every workout we do and try to get my best time or score, every time. The workout changes every day, so you never find anything repetitive. I definitely feel physically better, even mentally, strangely... There's also a feeling of community here. I have come to know everyone in the classes I've been taking as well as all the teachers and we all commiserate with each other post-workout. So, yes it's expensive, but in my mind, worth it. Man, I hate burpees... read more

We've been members for nearly seven years, and hope to be here for many more! We love that our kids can hang while we work out. The friendships we have made mean that even when we don't feel like working out, we'll come anyway, just for the community. The coaches really do coach, too, so you are always learning something new about an exercise or how to move better. If you live in the U-District, Eastlake, Fremont or Wallingford, you should at least try out the free class on Saturday mornings. read more

This is the BEST CrossFit GYMS in the WALLINGFORD and Eastlake/Gasworks Park Area. Chelsea, the owner, is amazing! Not only is she truly knowledgeable about CrossFit and truly certified (beyond just a weekend course), she cares that you are moving well so that your body functions well for all aspects of your life. I have taken classes from both Nick and Ramon and they are amazing coaches. If I lived close by, I would go everyday! I would highly recommend checking out this great gym and community! read more
