The community here is also top notch. Everyone is very welcoming to people of all skill/experience levels, body types, and backgrounds. But while this is a great gym for folks that have never done crossfit before, the classes are still challenging enough for folks that are more experienced. P.S. Hot tip! Come to 7am class on Friday for coffee, donuts, and conversation with friends after class :)

Continued with a workout that both kicks my ass and simultaneously lets me feel satisfied, tailored to my skill level. When I show up regularly, I can always meet my fitness goals. The coaches never hang up on the minor details (eg. when I already have unlimited membership, I keep forgetting to sign up and they just always smile about it, and punch me into the system, this wasn't the case with every gym). When I'm late to the class and I can safely join the workout I've just alway welcomed to join in. This place makes the barrier to entry into your workout a breeze. I've tried CF gyms all across the US and EU and 90% of the time I had a positive experience in all of them, but Felix tops it all! And the best part whenever I come back to Felix, I can alway get my original rates back.

The fantastic and varied programming provided by Seth makes sure you're always challenged and pushed within your limits. The trainers, with their deep knowledge and passion to make all of us get the best from ourselves. They have so much experience and advice across a wide variety of movements, everything from Olympic lifting to gymnastics. The equipment, setup & environment is top notch. Getting access to the wider gym and its facilities while getting to do crossfit is a big upside and is very different from other gyms I've been to. To top it all of, unlike a lot of other crossfit gyms everyone is warm, fun and wants training to be a good time!! I'm so sad to have to say goodbye to these guys and the team at Virj. Keep being awesome!

Virj is great, simple as that…read more First, the coaching is excellent. Coaches are focused on form and technique. They are not pushing you to lift more than you are comfortable lifting, or more than you can lift with proper technique. They make sure that you're doing the workout safely so that you can come back tomorrow. The workouts are well thought-out and varied throughout the week. No muscle group gets ignored. That particular muscle group that you hate working on because it's your weakness? It gets taken care of. All workouts are presented in a tiered format so that members of all fitness levels and abilities have something to do. Exercises can be modified to help you improve. Struggling with pull-ups? They have bands to help you develop a base level of strength. The facilities are top-notch. Zum, the gym in which Virj is located, has a huge locker room with lots of showers. I've never had to wait to shower after class. And - everything is CLEAN. Lastly, the vibe of the class is great. This is a CrossFit gym full of folks who are interested in getting in shape and improving. It's not full of a bunch of grunting dudes trying to compete in the CrossFit games. I highly recommend it.

Instruction and transitions were a bit confusing at first since the classes are larger than I'm used to, but after a while I was able to catch on. I was fairly confident on treadmill but I have gone a long time without strength training so I got my butt kicked then. The instructor Noah led the class well and gave clear instructions that I was able to follow easily. I'm impressed how he can give instructions to the floor and the treadmill groups at the same time. I also liked how Noah wasn't pushing us too hard and kept it open for the participants to modify their workout according to their capability. They provide you with two sets of hand towels on the treadmill and the floor station, so no need to bring a towel to wipe your sweat. The locker room is kept tidy, and if I remembered correctly, there were three shower stalls in the women's locker. Shower stalls were stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and face cleanser. They also provide bath towel, which is very helpful. On top of that, they have dyson hair dryer, so you can take all the time you need to clean up after the workout. Post workout, I tried the Barry's & Brunch smoothie. They were a nice size and was refreshing after class. All the smoothies come with vanilla flavored whey protein, which was blended well with the drink. Only one concern I had was that the vanilla flavor came off too strong and I thought the smoothie was a little too sweet for my preference. I'm signed up for another class this Saturday, and I am excited to get back!

My first encounter with SSP was a Saturday morning Metabolic Conditioning class. For someone who doesn't really know her way around weights & equipment and was def more out of shape than the other folks there, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Everyone was SO friendly and made me feel like I was joining a community as soon as I walked through the door. Throughout the entire hour, Ro led our class of about 10-15 people through a series of high-intensity interval training workouts and made sure we were all appropriately pushed to our limits. Every exercise was super form-focused and accessible to different skill levels and abilities. I may have felt like I needed to vom and/or pass out a couple of times but, more than anything, I was v proud of myself for challenging my body. Since that class, I have returned and worked out with a number of the other trainers (Meg, Ana, and Jay) who are all equally attentive, encouraging, and just the best. The exercises they prepare are always tough, fun, and never the same. I never thought I'd be one to use kettlebells, TRX, and battle ropes but here I am, getting a little stronger every time I go to SSP. I often think about how miserable I was with my virtually nonexistent exercise routine about a year ago and am so glad that I found this gym. SSP is helping me love and prioritize my fitness again and I couldn't be more grateful!

Each session burns 2-3 times the calories I would on my own, and the combination of coaching and camaraderie has been incredibly motivating. The coaches and peers push me to achieve far more than I could on my own. I've learned CrossFit movements I never imagined attempting, and my range of motion, flexibility, and strength have all noticeably improved. My only regret: Not joining sooner. The coaching here has been terrific. If you stick to a consistent schedule, you usually get the same coach, which is great--they get to know your strengths, weaknesses, and quirks, tailoring their guidance to help you grow. I'm especially grateful to Tony (the owner) and Jenny (evening classes during the week), whose focus on technique and functional movement has taught me so much. A special shoutout to Maia and PJ, two incredible coaches who supported me patiently through my early CrossFit days. Though they've since relocated, my sincere gratitude to them. If you're looking for a gym that will challenge and motivate you, this is the place to be.
