The ordering is easy with options to customize or let the chef choose sides, the menu is really broad and appealing to our guests, the prices are very reasonable, and the Russo's team is very communicative. There is a large selection of mains, sides, and desserts. It's easy to make changes to the order after it's placed. Delivery arrives on time including on weekends. You can pay via invoice and they support tax-exempt orders while makes admin background work much easier. All of this is great from an event organizer perspective. My favorite part is how the boxes are designed and packed. They look attractive and fancy as far as a boxed lunch goes, but are small and compact in case people need to take their lunch to go. Also, the food is ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD! Even when it's been sitting for an hour or more due to event logistics. It's just nice to be able to offer meeting attendees a nice meal option that still meets all the fiscal and admin requirements of a bureaucracy-heavy job. Highly recommend!

I have been disappointed by others, but not them. The food is delicious fresh and health focused. You feel good about eating it. Their gourmet sandwiches and fresh kettle chips have a great selection and include fresh fruit on the tray. They always include flatware, serving utensils and condiments to spare. The Italian salad is amazing. We tried the fusilli seafood pasta for the first time, and my compliments to the chef! This will be our company's go to for catering from now on!

My parents eat there on the reg, though not so much the past couple of years, after they implemented their controversial policy of shrinking portion sizes and increasing prices at the same time. Uh, whose idea was that? I have an idea. Let's just say he's not very good at riding a bicycle. I've eaten there literally a million times since it opened up 10 or 15 years ago. Before that, we used to eat at the place in Olivette that was once a Ponderosa, El Paisano or whatever. I don't think they're related, but when that place closed, a handful of employees came over to Carreta's. That was years ago, and they're now long gone. Hopefully, they weren't shipped off to El Salvador. I hear it's not safe there. More recently, we've been eating at a place a bit further west on Olive that was once a Houlihan's. Noticing a trend? Carreta's must be feeling the effects, because they've remodeled and added a few new menu items, some of which will be familiar to Barrel House patrons. The remodel seems to mostly have been a matter of applying a fresh coat of paint and turning the dim switch up to its absolute brightest. It used to be dark in there, like at a fancy restaurant. Now it's like Kmart circa 1986. I didn't check to see if a blue light had been installed in the ceiling, nor did I make it back to near the restrooms to see if they've still got that influencer wall. The menu has been reprinted, and I'm sure they took advantage of the opportunity to jack up prices even further. Many of the old favorites remain, and I'm not sure what, if anything, they removed to make room for the small handful of new items. I saw that they still have the carnitas, my old go-to. It's the only pork item on the menu. If you're familiar with the area, you can probably do the math on that one. Most importantly, they've added Birria, only about 10 years after it became trendy. What's next, a smashburger? A pumpkin spice latte? I've had Birria at a number of places, here in the STL and elsewhere, and in a few different preparations, and it's never not been good. It kinda is the Mexican food equivalent of the smashburger, in that regard. An order of three will run you $16, and it doesn't come with anything other than the consommé and a ramekin of tomatillo salsa. Just the three tacos wasn't the most filling meal I've ever had, but it wasn't half bad, for there not being any sides or anything. They stuff those tacos full with mostly just meat (along with cheese, onions and cilantro), and I'd imagine it's roughly as caloric as eating half the produce aisle at the grocery store. It's so good. I figured it would be kinda mediocre but nevertheless enjoyable, because I thought I had this place pegged, but credit where credit is due. They've exceeded expectations. This was one of the best things I've ever had in a Mexican restaurant. If they don't let the quality slip or try to charge literally $1,000 for it, I could honestly see it becoming a huge hit. What do you know? This place might manage to stay in business just yet, despite the newer, fancier place down the street.

In my search for the best birria I stumbled upon Carrera's…read more Fried corn tortilla, juicy but can't say my #1 Very beautiful space in small shopping center off Olive. Could be hard to locate. Best for a quiet date night

The patio also has a large Connect 4 that people can play while waiting for their food and drinks. It's such a family friendly space (dogs too!) and we feel Incredibly welcome every time we visit. The burgers are super thin with really crispy edges, so if you like that style of smashburger, you'll probably love them. I liked the Split Open and Melt more than the Lumberjack, and the onion rings were probably my favorite side. We also had the watermelon lemonade, which was sour, punchy, and really refreshing. It was very kid friendly too. They had books for kids to read at the table, which was a nice touch, and the whole place had a relaxed, casual feel. It is a little pricey for burgers and fries, but overall we had a good experience.

As…read morethe story goes, a longtime bartender purchased from Blondie and kept most things the same but have hired a brother/sister duo that try to outdo each other in the kitchen with ideas such as a Mac and Cheese stuffed burger. We went in for burgers to go. We ordered a Big Texas burger with Fries($16) which is a half Lb. and an Build a burger (7oz.) with onion rings($10). While we were waiting, everyone was super attentive, and informative. For instance, I would've ordered a Bloody Mary while we waiting but their only mix was (ugh!) Zing Zang and when I mentioned this to the bartender, she said that she didn't like it either but that they were going to start brunch in a couple of weeks and they would offer a Bloody Mary bar with V-8 along with the other mix. Also on Wednesdays, they have $1 Wings. I thought the hamburgers were good, high quality meat but would've been better if they grilled the buns, especially if they buttered and grilled them. Would've taken it to a new level. The buns were kinda steamed by the time we got them home. I did like the way they packaged the veggies, folded away from the food. I did not care for the onion rings; beer battered and very greasy. I would prefer the Panko style breading but that is just a preference. We will go back. Service was great, food was real and menu has a lot of options, especially if they start brunch with a make your own Bloody Mary. The next time I'm in the mood for a burger or brunch, I'll definitely go back.

The food was great and the service was even better. Couldn't ask for a better lunch with friends.read more

I had the pleasure of meeting the Owner yesterday and got to hear the story of Dairy delight and the location. I also got to see his hard-working crew at their best.
