Inspired Somm - Wine blending class!

I have been to a good amount of wine tastings over the years but none have been as intimate, fun or…read moreinteractive as the one taught by Karen at Inspired Somm. The ambiance was really nice (dim lights, beautiful paintings around) and overall had a very welcoming and comfortable feeling while still feeling upscale. By design, there were only 7 people in attendance at the tasting to promote a more intimate experience; which really added to the overall experience. I learned a lot about not only the actual wine we were tasting, but also about food pairings and good general wine tips. I really loved how the tasting/class was very interactive and conversational (yet structured) versus being talked at (or not talked to at all), as I have at other tastings. Overall, the tasting was a very thought out and well planned experience that I really enjoyed and really recommend! I went with some friends (and made new ones!), but would definitely come again as an outing for a date or would make a perfect girls night out! The wines and charcuterie presented were really good and varied a lot. I even found 2 new wines that I love! I am looking forward to taking one of the advanced speciality courses to learn more and have another fun night!

I've been to enough similar events to have reasonable expectations and be disappointed by this…read moreevent. It was still fun, but improvements are needed to make this the great event it has the potential to be. There are so many things right about this event. It's in a unique and fun location (Tustin Hangar where they used to house blimps). There are dozens and dozens of vendors and room for even more. On paper, it sounds pretty perfect. In reality, the event space was incredibly dark and a significant portion of the lights were out for part of the night (music disappeared too, so probably a power issue). Mood lighting is great, but you shouldn't have to get your face right up to the bottles of wine or plates of food to figure out what is being offered. Some areas had better lighting than others, but they really need to get lighting everywhere. Tea light candles don't cut it. The other major issue was that so many vendors packed up and left before the first or second hour. So if you passed something earlier thinking you'd go back and try it later, too bad! Props to Fresh Brothers and Piadina for having food up until the end of the event. With an event this large, it's just not possible to do it all within an hour (at least not if you want to enjoy it), so it's terrible that some restaurants were gone before an hour had passed. If you are thinking of purchasing a ticket, let this serve as a warning so you will be prepared and not disappointed as I was. It's still a good event, but it has so much more potential.

Awesome event! They had tons of food and drinks and this was all inside of the Tustin Hangar. I've…read moreheard of the building several times but have never had the chance to actually go inside. It is my understanding that they used to house blimps inside of this building. Such a unique and interesting venue! I was very surprised with how organized this food festival actually was. I've been to a few food walks/festivals and they've always been so cluttered. They did an amazing job with organization. As soon as you enter they had several workers handing out wine glasses with the cutest Tustin Food and Wine logo on it. This would be your glass for most, if not all, of the tastings. Each vendor provided water for you to rinse out your glass with before a new taste. Most of the food was to the right side of the room and the alcohol to the left side of the room. Although it is titled a food and wine festival, they had such a wide variety of food and alcohol. They were serving everything from wine and beer to sake bombs and shots of bourbon. As for food vendors they had plenty of options. They were serving poke, clam chowder, indian food, and so much more. Expect to be full 15 minutes in. The only critique I truly have for this event is the lighting. I think they were going for a darker ambiance but it was very difficult to read the vendors signs or even see what they were serving. It was so hard to take any photos or videos. All in all, it was a great event. I could definitely see myself coming back next year. If you get a chance to go, come with an empty stomach and comfortable shoes.

We have been meaning…read moreto get to DeFalco for wine tasting for quite a while, but couldn't get there as I have a volunteer commitment most Saturdays. We weren't really expecting much due to their location in a small nondescript strip building, but we were very surprised. The wine tasting eperience was better than many places in Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, and Napa. We were greeted at the door with a smile and shown to the wine tasting room behind the store. The room totally set the mood: red checkered tablecloths, brick walls, wine barrels, and a rustic Tuscan mural. The host, really bad but I forget her name, Tatiana? is their culinary specialist from Eastern Eurpoe. She certainly knows her wines, suggested pairings, and explained each. She told us that Gus, the owner and winemaker, entered 10 wines in the OC Fair competition, and came away with 10 ribbons! The wines were all very good: I am mainly a red wine person, but bought a bottle of their white Wine Blend as it is the perfect "patio wine" (my phrase for a summer wine and charcuterie dinner on our patio). After the tasting, we went to see the offerings in the small store. We left with a wide assortment of wine (Zin and Primotivo), dry pasta, frozen dishes, and cookies. They shop is only open on Fridays and Saturdays, but I will definitely make time to go by again soon as there are so many other foods that I need to try.

Anyways, we came back 2 days later because we really wanted to try this place on our way back home. The owner's daughter was working, and SHE WAS SO SWEET. One of the best customer service experiences. We got some olive oil samples (lemon & basil) & it was so good w/our bread, we ended up buying the olive oil 5 piece sampler pack. Never been more into olive oil than now. That basil was extremely tasty. Also had my orange wine (amazing flavor + so crisp), plus a drink consisting of sparkling wine w/pear or peach balsamic vinegar???? Surprisingly SO GOOD. She told us there's a location in La Jolla and we live in San Diego, so we may become regulars there!! Thanks for the amazing Valentine's Day experience.

What a great business Angel Limousine was to work with!…read more I had booked another company without fully understanding what they offered and it was more of a shuttle bus than a party bus. After realizing my error in not asking the right questions, my wife found Angel Limousines. 4 days before my daughters bday party, they were able to get us booked with an amazing, clean, safe party experience for my daughter and her friends. They responded almost immediately to my request and I was able to pay the reservation fee within about 1in. The driver reached out 2hrs before the event and texted again just prior to arrival. We exchanged numbers (my wife went with the girls, I did NOT!). Got 4hrs of premium service from Darryl who was professional, timely, and made sure the girls had a fantastic time around town. Highly recommend Angel Limousine!
