The market here was really nice with some great items for sale. We tried to get lunch here, but the indoor seating was closed, it was very crowded for how small it was, the 3 outdoor tables they had were in the sun, & the food selection was small. We got lunch elsewhere and came back here after the rush for a delicious dessert and a beer. The experience was much better later. I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch, but I would definitely recommend it for a snack or dessert. read more

It was kismet that we came here when we did since we learned the cafe is usually closed for the winter and not open again until March. There was a special event in the town so the cafe was open for that. We stopped for lunch and it was superb. They had a limited menu but we wanted for nothing. My husband got the rueben, my daughter and I shared the turkey avocado croissant, both came with their homemade pickles...*pause for effect*...They. Were. AMAZING! This cafe is a gem! They also make their own dough for their homemade, out of this world, pies! I've never had a pie crust that I crave more than the actual filling. I will drive back to this city just for this pie. We shopped in their attached market which has a case full of their pies + other treats like strawberry cake, individual cherry tart cheesecakes, danishes, etc. They also have another case with homemade pizzas, pot pies, etc. Also, many more fridges, freezers, tables full of specialty gelato, honey, sauces, and accoutrements. Locally owned, they seem to miss the mark on what 'should' happen here, but I appreciate the 'fresh' designed meals over the American fried options everywhere. Recommend: Not really, but not against it either. Options in Oro Valley are slim and this is why I think they could certainly improve on what 'should' happen here. Clean up the grounds... Food selection was limited, flies literally everywhere so one hand is used to eat, the other for fanning flies. Be prepared. To get to the back patio seating, you go through a chain fence and immediately seen lots of broken items on the ground. Very unappealing visually and a deterrent in relative to a quaint, eating location. Signage is poor and seating limited to outdoors. As a plus, they have a few lattice awnings over you and an attempt at a water-fall center piece with exposed wiring. Eclectic in designs, I'd offer that they improve the visuals... There is a market attached but zero communication from Wait Staff towards recommending to stop in and sole restroom is inside past the kitchen Food was tasty if not and simple flavored, certainly not amazing nor bad... Refills on Iced-Tea was a challenge and napkins even more scarce. Very minor adjustments could really make this place pop. I hope they're listening... read more

Ok, fresh and local food. There are not many places to eat in Oracle, so we were pleased to find this, a healthy and homemade locally-run café. It's OK quality, not great, but it was highly rated on Yelp, so we tried it. When we arrived, it was so cold, they were only using outside back patio seating, and the waitress said "I'll get a heater started for you," but she didn't and they didn't have heaters turned on for anyone. It was around $21 for a sandwich and a sparkling water. There is a mini-store/marketplace next door with fresh pies, local jars and tins of interesting products and a good selection of bottles of wine. Ok, so the food was ok, not great. But this was my big problem....they clearly don't have many non-locals in the café, because the otherwise friendly waitress blurted out (in a ridiculously slow and overly clear voice) to the three Asian friends that I was having lunch with, "Is this the first time you have eaten American food?" What a bizarre question to ask our group, they made an assumption that if someone is not white, they have never eaten American food or even stranger, that they don't live in the U.S...wow, I was kind of speechless! The awkwardness made everyone uncomfortable for our visit. Next time, I would skip the café (and these interactions) and get a sandwich from the market next door instead - probably the exact same sandwiches there, and without the weird questions and everyone freezing outside! read more

The food was excellent! We ate in the patio. The service was perfect. We had a waiter and I am sorry I can't recall his name. We ate the rubin sandwich. And followed it up with tiramsu! Both were the very best! We eat out often and this lunch was better than we have had anywhere in Pima or Pinal county! So if your looking for great food and good service give them a try! read more

This is a cute little patio cafe located in Oracle. Patio is dog friendly. Please note- there is no indoor seating and the patio can get warm during the summer. I ordered their chicken salad and it was fresh and good. The perfect meal for warm weather. However, the real treat was the market on the other side. I got their chocolate torte and it was amazing! We stopped here for 2 cups of coffee to go. After being sent from the market area to the patio area, we were sent back to the market area to get our to-go coffees. Yay, they eventually brought them out. I added 1 sugar and 1 creamer. I take a swig. It was barely luke warm water that I think they dipped a coffee bean in for less than 30 seconds. Seriously, it was the nastiest cup of coffee I have ever had. It's COFFEE! How do you screw that up? Well, they managed. Had we not driven away before tasting I would have brought it back. Great place for a stop after a visit to Oracle SP. Love their patio out back. Started with a cup of coffee which was very good. A group of bikers came in just after we did, so they got our order going in a hurry and it came out promptly. I had the chile rellenos with eggs over easy - a combo I have never had before, but it was truly excellent. Love their salsa (a little smokey flavor). My wife had the crepes with blueberry, and I am happy to report that I HAD to help her finish it. Really great. Stopped in their little market after our meal to see what they had and picked up some locally roasted coffee. Worth checking out! This cute little place is right off the highway and so worth the stop. In fact, it's only a half hour outside of Tucson (depending on where you live in town). We were hungry for lunch, having driven a loop over Redington Pass (you need 4-wheel drive to go that route, beware) but was I ever glad I found this cafe with its adorable patio (on Yelp). I ordered the Grinder with its house-made pickles and my guy got their filet mignon chili-both SO delicious! Homemade French bread for the Grinder that had ALL the fixings, and the corn tortilla, shredded cheese, sour cream and diced red onion were perfect with the chili. Nevermind the homemade (almost everything is in this place) Sangria and Scone of the Day. Yep, you heard right, they make a gorgeous scone every morning. This one was a cinnamon apple raisin - truly delicious. The waitress actually made the Sangria, which was refreshing and a perfect balance of fruit and wine. I loved our waitress too-so down to earth and helpful. Everything came out super fast from the kitchen. You could tell the cafe is like a well-oiled machine run by a happy family. They even sell their homemade pies, cinnamon rolls, and more in their shop at front of restaurant. I picked up a summer sausage and would've added locally grown mushrooms and steak to the mix but we didn't bring a cooler. Next time. We will be back. read more

The most vegan-friendly place in Oracle, AZ We drove two hours south of Phoenix to zipline at the Arizona Zipline Adventures and dropped by the Oracle Patio Cafe afterwards to grab brunch. Searched beforehand and Patio Cafe is the most vegan-friendly place in the area. Ordered the "chorizo" scrapple. Before this, I did not know what a scrapple was so did not have anything to compare it to. I thought the crimini mushrooms and squash were real nice; the microgreens was a nice touch. I also had a few bites of the hemp tamales that someone else ordered. The tamales are made from nearby Tuscon and a taste of the spicy one was probably the best bite of the meal. Patio Cafe is family owned and started in 2012 to also operate as a community hub. We were served by the matriarch who was super friendly and does the baking. There's a small market inside that offers local produce and an array of gluten free and vegan options. If you're in the area, definitely show some love and check this place out. read more

Stopped by for lunch takeout while hiking in Oracle State Park and am so happy that we did - the food was tasty, the pastries are homemade, and the market has a variety of organic and plant-based products. My only regret is not getting more pastries! For lunch, we had the ultimate grilled cheese and the pancetta guava grilled cheese. Both were pretty big sandwiches and filled with so much melted cheesy goodness and nicely balanced with the saltiness of the bacon/pancetta and freshness of tomato/guava jam. The pesto aioli on the ultimate added another creamy and salty element to the sandwich. Sandwiches come with a side of housemade pickles which my husband enjoyed, and I changed my side to housemade potato chips - not too oily and a good side portion. For pastries, we grabbed a pan au chocolat and the scone of the day (bacon, cheddar, green onion) which we enjoyed at home post-hike. The pan au chocolat was so buttery and good, and the scone was amazing! We will definitely be coming back here the next time we are hiking at the state park or are in the area! read more

We made a reservation - which I would recommend. All the tables were not even full at 11:30 on a Sunday - and the people who came in right before us did NOT have a reservation and were told they had to wait 15 mins. We chose an outside table and we had the perfect table under a shady tree. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to the table - and all the food coming out looked great - the breakfast sandwich (on a croissant I almost looked great - and I almost chose it). I had the unsweetened passion fruit tea (LOVED it). and we split the breakfast quesadilla, the corned beef hash and a biscuit on the side (which I forgot to take a photo of, sorry!). The hash is all made in house - it was pretty good, it could have been crispier and I like my corned beef in bigger pieces, but it was well flavored. Sadly my eggs were no over easy - but over med/hard. The breakfast quesadilla was really good and well crisped. Biscuit was also good. Service was spectacular, and just the ambiance is fantastic. Sweetest staff and delicious food! The staff is very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast menu was small but so many good options. We ordered the quiche, french toast, vegan vegetable chorizo (requested real cheese) and croissant sandwich. All four were FANTASTIC! The tea was fresh and the orange juice tasted like it was just squeezed. Very impressed with this place. The only things that could use improvement are, the hot chocolate tastes like water instead of milk, the pineapple in the fruit looked a little old, and the apple pie was just okay. We stopped here for breakfast on a trip to Biosphere II. The food was very good and the ambiance was also pretty good. We were seated in the front patio closest to the street, and I suspect the back patio would have been slightly better due to traffic noise, but even in front, the ambiance was overall quite pleasant. The wait staff was extremely friendly if perhaps stretched a little thin on our visit. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the dishes. If we lived closer, I could imagine this restaurant becoming one of our regular stops. For those living nearby, I highly recommend giving them a try. If you are visiting Biosphere and looking for a place to eat, definitely give them a try. read more

If I could give this place a negative star review I would. Ordered a bowl of their Truffle Potato Soup, it came out lukewarm, brown and unappetizing. If I were to describe it: BABY POOP. It wasn't creamy white like potato soup is supposed to be, it was grainy and brown because the cook failed to peel and cook the potatoes properly. Texture and bland taste, utterly disgusting. Told the server, I couldn't eat it and ordered the quiche instead. The quiche was equally bland and texture rubbery and completely inedible. Side of fruit was old, although grapes were good. Friend ordered the Filet Mignon Chili which was obviously made with chuck roast and not a filet. False advertising. Server did not remove the food from the bill and friend paid for my disgusting meal. I wasn't going to raise a stink because I was invited out. You should be ashamed of the caliber of food you put out. If I were the owner, I'd be embarrassed. You need to find a new cook ASAP. Ambiance: dirty patio and lack luster server. read more

This place was awesome! My daughter and I had lunch after we went to the Lavender Farm. We both really enjoyed the food and the service. The waitress chatted with us for a while and asked us what brought us up to Oracle. I loved my toasted ham and brie sandwich. It just oozed with goodness! It came with a delicious pickle on the side that had spices on it! There was a nice outdoor seating area outside that was perfect for social distancing. We loved the little store, where we bought amazing pie, wine, and the most delicious macaroni salad that I think I've ever had! My wife and I had a late lunch at the PC on Friday, Sept. 6th. We used to go there frequently per-Pandemic but hadn't returned until Friday. The food and service were just as good as we remembered. The Cafe presents a rustic setting but is also a market for homemade pies and other market items. Our lunch was wonderful and was served outside on the patio; all of their seating is now outside; the inside seating has been converted to retail space. My wife had the Cranberry Almond Chicken salad, which she thought was excellent. I had the Bagel topped with Trout and sour cream and capers; it was also excellent. For dessert, we had the homemade Key Lime pie--absolutely one of the most creamy and tart KL pies that I have had in years. A solid 4+ star experience; highly recommended and we will return. read more
