Love these folks. Making appointments is painless, the office is all-inclusive in terms of standard OB/GYN services, the paperwork is efficient, and the way all the doctors backed each other up was seamless. I had the fortune of being under Dr Teng's care. She was absolutely the best OB I could have hoped for: straightforward, providing recommendations based on data, empathetic toward my concerns but not patronising nor dismissive about them, and explaining the "why"s behind everything. She was patient and personable and transparent and experienced, and I am SO grateful for her care. Would absolutely recommend this practice to everyone I know. Oh, and one more thing: I really appreciated how seriously they took disease transmission. Even when Covid vaccines had been prevalent for a year already, the office required masking and did standard symptom checks. They posted reasoning at the front that was really helpful, and it said something like "our doctors see hundreds of patients weekly and any one of them getting sick would prevent care for everyone else," which I thought was brilliant at de-escalating potential crankiness from folks who might challenge a mask request. Love the community-mindedness from this team, and I love how much Dr Teng just listening to what I needed and providing me with information so I could make informed choices made a world of a difference in my prenatal care. Hats off to you all. Thank you for everything. read more

Dr. Moniaga ruined my birth experience and my health to this day. I had my baby 9 years ago and my body and health still suffer from my labor trauma. Please be careful with her. She tries to convince you that she knows more about your own body than you do. My labor injuries could have been avoided if she was paying attention and listening to my concerns. read more

I've tried calling this office three different days/times while they're open to schedule an appointment but nobody picks up the phone. I stayed on the call for about 30 minutes each before hanging up. I got a referral from my doctor but I'll be asking for someone else. read more

This is a poorly run doctor office. Dr. Alya is wonderful and a great OB gyn, but it is not easy to get ahold of this office. The phone rings forever until someone picks up. My online pharmacy attempted three times in reaching them and could not get any feedback. Because prescription requests and changes are only done via fax at this office, not sure if it's because they don't have an electronic way, it is much slower and no transparency on when things get done. Even CVS has trouble getting ahold of them. When I did my annual pap, I also had to call for a report when I was never contacted in any way about it two months later. There are significant gaps in care here, and I will be looking for a new office. It is a shame because Dr. Alya is wonderful. read more

Friendly reception. Very kind and patient physicians. Dr Chang is unfortunately leaving the practice but she was amazing and always gentle.

I have been calling to try to make an appointment and have not been able to get hold of anyone.

I was seen right away at the appt time that was given to me. Dr Nhuchi Dao was very kind, and was super patient with all my questions. And very informative about my excessive bleeding, Pap smear was super quick and painless. She didn't make me feel rushed. read more

You know what sucks? A doctor that doesn't care about their patients! I drove 2 hrs to get to my appointment, I was 15min late so the doctor wouldn't see me. I've been going to the office for 20yrs, but ever since Dr. Morrissey left the are just overbooking, rushing appointments and not providing quality care. Hire more doctors! read more

Was recommended to call this office by someone at Huntington Health because they claimed medical was accepted here which they do not. I was given two more phone numbers when the lady on the phone said medical isn't accepted and looked them up before calling which showed me one was for Huntington health. I am frustrated because they already told me they don't accept medical, so why am I being referred to them?? Don't spread misinformation to women attempting to find care. If you want to help, have the correct information instead of sending people on pointless phone calls. THANK YOU. read more

The doctors specially Dr. Moniaga seem like they are warm, caring, smart & thoughtful when it comes to expecting mothers; and/or perhaps only to women they can relate to. My appointment left me drained as I "frustrated" the doctor with my lifelong chronic illness. My mechanic has a better bedside manner and more evidence based options; it could just be my no cure frustrating illness.. sorry.. My fault yet again. Thankfully, the front and back office staff have tact and seem to be striving for great service. Hopefully they get better treatment than I did by their employer. I'm left Wondering if the overly positive three paragraph reviews belong to friends and family or just a hired marketing firm. Do expect to wait a while past your appointment time and they do post signs in the waiting area warning you. read more

I have been going to this clinic since the early 2000's when I was being seen by Dr. Morrissey. I originally wanted Dr. Morrissey to be my OB when I became pregnant, but then found out that she was no longer delivering babies, so I researched the other doctors in this facility. Dr. Moniaga had good reviews and so I selected her to be my OB when the time came. I am so beyond happy that I did. From the moment my husband and I met her, we knew we had made the right decision. In addition to her being highly educated in her field, she is also a mom so she understands what it is like to be pregnant. My husband could only come to that first appointment due to safety precautions for COVID-19, so it was important to me to feel comfortable and to connect with her. We very much did! She is so kind, friendly, thorough, and supportive. She always made time to answer all my questions (and at every appointment, I had many!). When I found out I needed to have a c-section, she walked me through my options but did not pressure me when it came time for me to make my decision. She was also always available through the online portal when I needed to reach her. And then when the big day came to finally meet our daughter, she made me feel at ease and nurtured. I have her to thank for my healthy and beautiful baby girl. There are no words to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Moniaga, her staff, and her direct nurse who was also so very nice to me - Rebecca. :) read more

Went in for my first appointment in November and Dr. Lisa Chang was amazing, made me very comfortable and at ease Started having some issues with excessive bleeding and made an appointment 2 1/2 weeks out, the receptionist tells me the date and time on the phone and as she's saying it I'm marking it in my calendar, 3:30. I show up to the office (which is 30 minutes away from me since I've moved) and it's 3:25. The receptionist (who I assume is the same one from the initial scheduling trying to cover her mistake in front of the Dr) tells me my appointment was at 3:15 and they can't see me and have to reschedule me. I know for a fact my appointment was made for 3:30. But even if for some reason it was 3:15, I was in only 10 minutes after that and she gave me no grace, just an "I'm done with you and don't care about you, next" attitude. Mind you, they also didn't call or check in. I'd make it a 1 star if my experience Dr. Chang wasn't so great the first time, however I never want to deal with that receptionist again so I'm never coming back. The one who sits in the check in window btw. Guess I'll just have internal problems for a couple more weeks, thanks a lot girl read more

I was so taken back on how everyone is so nice and helpful. From the front desk to the nurses to my awesome Doctor they were all great. It was my first time and was a bit nervous because I had to get a second look after going through my primary doctor after my wellness visit but Nurse Isahi was so nice and friendly. She was so professional and let me feel at ease by letting me know that I can ask any question with Dr. Morrissey and mentioned that she is very open and very knowledgeable. Nurse Isahi was absolutely right, Dr. Morrissey was so informative, professional, and so nice and made me feel very comfortable. I felt that I was able to ask any questions without feeling judged and even though I was very nervous and embarrassed I felt so much better. I was so grateful, because I felt the warmth and such care that is very rare to get now in days. Its definitely worth mentioning about because they are so great. It's like getting the best care because they have great energy and vibes. I have to go back for a second visit soon but definitely feel much more at ease and feel very comfortable thanks to Nurse Isahi and Dr. Morrissey, they are definitely a great team together. read more

Nice ! The wait area is out in the hall which was weird at first, but the ladies at the window were really nice. When I got in, which was only 5 minutes after my appointment time, an assistant did all of my check up and asked the questions, quick, straightforward, easy. She explained everything she was doing, and sure, it's uncomfortable still, but oh well. At the end Pamela came in just to talk to me so I could meet her, she was really nice. I got 5 months free of my prescription, and the prescription written out so that after that 5 months, I could bring that to the pharmacy, and thus get more time to the prescription (5 mo. + a year!). I highly recommend this office and Dr. Nhuchi Dao! After 5 horrible years of pain and several procedures I was done with my previous OB, I requested a transfer to Dr. Dao and it was the best decision I have ever made! Her wonderful bedside manner and care helped me through the toughest time of my life. I truly believe that without her guidance and care I would still be suffering with my previous OB. The office staff is kind and caring and they never made me feel rushed they were all wonderful. Alexis was amazing in helping me coordinate my care. I was with Dr. Francis Teng for about a year. It was when I was in the process of an IVF cycle that I was in search for a new OB. I thought Dr Teng was very knowledgeable. Sadly I had to leave her and again in search for a new OB Some of the staff here are not the greatest. First visit was quite bad. Had it escalated and solved. Through my pregnancy it was not all smooth. A few hiccups with my delivery and post partum at the hospital and with my doctor. Not sure if it is Dr. Teng's or Huntington Hospital's fault. The reason for my leave is due to that this office does not deal with non pregnancy UTI. What?! That's the first for me!! I've had a few UTIs before and been to a few different OBs where they've treated me. Sigh. read more

Seriously the best customer service and most responsive doctors and nurses. I have been coming here since 2016 and am so grateful for Dr. Moniaga and Dr. Morrissey they delivered my daughter in 2017. I did have one experience with Dr Williams hay was not as pleasant as she was very cold and dismissive about my fertility journey. I could not be more pleased with this office. read more

Our journey with Dr. Moniaga from visits, to delivery was beyond expectation and simply an excellent experience. I am past my child bearing years and diabetic so in the beginning it was nerve wrecking for me (Thoughts push in your head, leading you to look up stuff on the internet which is sometimes not good =P). Dr. Moniaga has given me great advice and care regarding other issues such as genetic testing, and followed my progress very closely with me through every step. She is very professional doctor with a rich background and her staff/nurses are nice, prompt, and professional as well. She always made herself available to answer questions I sent via portal and often followed up with a phone call. She was warm, gentle, really smart and up to date of her field. She was always positive, but would be forthcoming with what our options were and potential outcomes. She was always compassionate and would take the time to talk to us about routes we could take, also, she listens! All your concerns and questions will be addressed =) Her office is extremely convenient. Ultrasounds and blood tests can all be done right there, and if you must go off location, you can directly walk across the street to LabCorp and Huntington Hospital. It is a perfect set up! When having/planning for a baby this is the support you need! I cannot express how fortunate my husband and I are to have been blessed with a healthy beautiful baby girl and paired with great doctor/team who was with us from beginning all the way down to delivery. I want to add to all those reading, I gave birth 3 weeks early, and had along laborious delivery. It was physically exhausting resulting with me having a 104 degree fever and infection in the womb where I had to have a emergency C-section to avoid our daughter being affected by the infection. Dr Moniaga and support surgery doctor, Dr Teng came through. They had it on lock down and it was like a walk in the park! Recovery was great. Daughter is beautiful and healthy. My C-section scar healed perfectly. Its tiny, thin, like its not there...Whatever Dr. Moniaga did - its magic!!! We are planning for another baby and hands down know Dr. Moniaga is our OB for us. read more

I was seen by Dr. Moniaga for my OB care and my fiancee and I could not have been any happier to have her as our doctor. Both she and Dr. Teng delivered my baby girl early August I also like to say that I have seen all four of the doctors here, Dr. Chvotzkin who is the sweetest and most attentive Dr. I had ever met and Dr. Morrissey who is also attentive and knows the answers to your questions before you ask them! Overall pleasant experience. I hope to return for care during my future pregnancies! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Teng and Dr. Payne since I was but a cranky, sexually frustrated teen in terrible hair cut and an Avail hoodie. Honestly, all the gyno horror stories I hear make me sad. Dr Teng and Dr Payne have pretty fantastic bedside manner, they actually listen to you and give solid advice, and when I have to come in for my annual maintenance, I swear to God I'm in and out of there so fast, I don't even have to pay for parking, which is great news to a cheap-ass like myself. I've long said that I take to methods of birth control like a stoner takes to their mary jane: I'm always looking for the latest, most effective and bullshit-free way to keep from getting knocked up, just like stoners are always looking for the latest vaporizer or kief to add a little magic to their high. Two years ago, I decided I was done with hormones and wanted a Paragard IUD, and Dr Teng was very straight with me: she told me all the about the side effects, how they're worse if you're like me and you've never had a kid, and how much the procedure was going to totally suck. The procedure wasn't fun, but I was happy with my decision, and I was grateful that they gave me mental preparation. My only complaint about Alessandro is that in the ten plus years I've been seeing their doctors, their office staff has NEVER gotten my medical records right. Literally, every time I've called to make an appointment, they claim they have no record of me ever seeing one of their doctors! I understand that BS with the office staff often has nothing to do with the doctors themselves, though, so, 5 stars. read more

Today I thought my 2PM appointment was at 2:30. They saw me anyway with zero attitude or pissed-offedness. I still waited less time than it took me to read the first paragraph about pregnant celebs in OK magazine, and the entire appointment, including Pamela patiently and thoroughly answering my inane questions about her poking around my cervix, took about 15 minutes. Maybe less. I thank her and her staff. So does my vagina. read more

I am so so so happy that I found this place. A coworker's recommendation + high Yelp reviews had me coming here with high expectations, and they did not disappoint! I was unable to get an appointment with Dr. Teng (turns out you have to book at least a month in advance for her!) but I was able to get an appointment with Pamela Payne. And I am so glad I did. PAMELA PAYNE = AWESOME. I was so nervous about my appointment, but she immediately put me at ease when she walked in the door and started talking to me. She has a great bedside manner, is very kind and gentle, and is very knowledgeable as well. I feel like I really learned a lot during our short time together. The staff is really nice as well. This is my first pregnancy and I've been seeing Dr. Teng, throughout this whole experience she's been amazing despite the complications I seem to be enduring. She's prompt, efficient, and excellent at communicating. I will say the only complaints I have is that the hold time over the phone to get through to the office is ridiculous. Also, over the entire pregnancy(currently 36 weeks), they've only done 3 ultrasounds. And really only got to keep two of the films. I was quite disappointed, I made it a point to ask why so and they said there office just chooses to not do it as frequently as others unless absolutely required. read more

My wife's OB was Dr. Moniaga and we couldn't have been happier with her care up to and through our child's birth. Right from our first visit, we knew we had a good one with Dr. Moniaga, as she took the time to explain all of the genetic screening tests and provided sound recommendations based on our risk. Fast forward to the day of labor, Dr. Moniaga was actively involved and accommodating of the wishes we put forth in our birth plan. In fact, I believe she went above and beyond with her own time and energy to see our birth plan through and we are forever grateful! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great OB!! read more

Expensive and maybe fraudulent billing against EX clients. There will be unwanted/uncleared charges at a future time. For example, you will get a random bill for date of services that are 5 to 6 months old. Their billing system or someone is double charging the clients expensively and intentionaly for past unknown lab works.. This seem to be very suspicous and unethical. The quality of OBGYN services are good but ultimately its a RIP-OFF system. BECAREFUL, DONT BE A VICTIM AND DISPUTE FOR YOUR HARD EARN MONEY. read more

I've been a patient with Alessandro Obstetrics for over a decade now. I have had to opportunity to have been a patient of Dr. Morrissey, Dr. Teng, and Dr. Moniaga. Dr. Morrissey has been my primary doctor for the majority of that time. She's always very professional and kind with a dry sense of humor that I enjoy. Dr. Morrissey no longer delivers babies due to a back injury, so when I became pregnant she referred me to me to her partner Dr. Teng. Dr. Teng was also very professional, kind and straight forward. She answered all of my questions. I'm a worrier and she set my mind at ease. My due date was estimated to be Halloween, which happened to be two weeks after. Dr. Teng would be returning from vacation. She set up two of my last prenatal visits with Dr. Morrissey and Dr. Moniaga. During my 35 week ultrasound Dr. Morrissey realized something seemed to be wrong. The baby was too small. She stayed calm in her delivery of this new, and her staff got me set up with an appointment to see ultrasound specialist Dr. Wong, within the hour. I found out from her that I would need to go to the hospital immediately and deliver that day. I also found out that Dr. Morrissey was much more concerned than she let on, and that luckily, one of the things she was concerned about wasn't happening. I'm very grateful for her discretion in that moment. Dr. Moniaga took over at this point. She was kind, calm, and soothing when I was feeling panicked. She checked in with me throughout the day, keeping me updated. The initial plan was to induce and deliver, but it became clear as the day progressed that the baby was distressed. Given this information, she gave me the option to try and deliver naturally or have a c-section. She didn't pressure me either Wayne , just gave me the information to make a decision. I decided on the c-section for the health of the baby. The surgery went very well, a tiny baby boy was born and rushed to the NICU for a five week stay, and I was sent to recovery. In the next five days I saw Dr. Moniaga every day. She was really a pleasure on each occasion. All of the nurses were extremely impressed with the neatness of my incision and they all said she's the best. Someone from the Breastfeeding Center said she's the doctor she would pick for her daughter. I wouldn't want to have this situation happen again, but I'm very happy with the team that helped me get through it. I highly recommend Allesandro Obstetrics. read more

If it's at all possible to have a "good" experience at your annual visit to the gynecologist, it's here. PARKING underground parking deck with stair access to the Cotton North Building. They do not validate parking but the maximum for a weekday was only $4.80 FRONT DESK very polite when I made my appointment by phone and very polite when I arrived for my appointment in person PAPERWORK about 4-5 pages of paperwork (front and back) to fill out for new patients. Definitely arrive at least 15 m early to complete it WAIT TIME My appointment began on time, so I was only waiting 10 minutes in the waiting room FACILITY Very clean. the exam rooms have privacy curtains and are as comfortable as they can be. Also they have their own in- house laboratory so they don't have to send your stuff off to separate places and you get your results faster STAFF My appointment was with nurse Payne who I felt very comfortable with. She explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions and even called to check on me a few days after my appointment. My procedure went by very quickly and although there are no enjoyable pap smears, this was the quickest and least uncomfortable one I've ever had. CONS The only downside to this place is that new patients have to wait 3 weeks to a month for an appointment. read more

I read through some of these reviews and must say I'm shocked to see the one about dr Moniaga. I will agree with the first part that she does have a good bedside manner while remaining very clinical (which I like since it's already awkward going to the gyn) I will also say that I think from a personal standpoint the new three year guidelines for Pap smears are a good idea as this is a slow growing cancer and commonly goes away on its own, so maybe don't pay out of your own pocket if you are just increasing the chance of false positives and undue stress. I've had a colposcopy in the past that turned out to show negative for cancer but it is a stressful experience to say the least and not really worth it if there is a large chance it will clear up on its own. So ya that's my two cents on that. Although I can't speak to the other comments about advising incorrect producers etc as I didn't go through my particular cancer scare with dr Moniaga, and hopefully that review does help her in some way if it is true. But back to the important stuff - I had an iud (copper) replaced with an iud (mirena) and I had a great experience. I like young drs as they are fresh on research and training (albeit maybe lacking in experience). She explains everything she is doing in a clear way and I really appreciate that as I've had drs and nurses be somewhat invasive of my body in the past, if that makes sense. I've been back to her office three times and everything seemed to go great with the iud and everything way very professional. Thanks dr Moniaga I will be back! read more

Very disappointed in doctor Chovtzkin and also the hospital she associates with which is Huntington Memorial. I wanted a VBAC which in my situation is less of a risk than a c section, but by early second trimester she was already using scare tactics such as "we won't deliver big babies" (how in the world would you know so early to assume) and telling me the hospital won't induce me if I don't go into labor by my due date (which is not accurate and is just a number - babies come when they are ready) and will coerce me into a c-section due to "hospital policy." She then let it slip under her breath that even though VBACs are safe for those without complications, the hospital doesn't like doing them, but for some reason they still schedule many inductions and elective c-sections at 39 weeks which should not be standard practice and are even more risky. Seems like doctors and hospitals just want convenience around their schedules at the expense of their patients' health. Shame on you Pasadena Huntington Memorial. You should follow ACOG guidelines and not scare patients into unnecessary interventions. I decided to find another hospital and doctor - UCLA Westwood - that is more caring, educated and willing to perform a VBAC. read more

Reading all of these reviews, they are about Pamela Payne, who my mother sees and also agrees... She's awesome. However, my rating is based on my experience with both Dr. Teng and Dr. Morrissey. After reading the content on their website, I had high expectations of a physician who is caring, concerned, and friendly. What I experienced was the exact opposite. I saw Dr. Teng last January for my first prenatal appointment after finding out I was pregnant. Dr. Teng confirmed my suspicions... I was in the middle of miscarrying. She gave me two pills and told me to go home & miscarry and to come back in a month. No follow up phone call, no checking to see if I was okay... This was a very clinical physician. When I got pregnant again in July, I decided to see Dr. Morrissey because I really was looking for someone with a bedside manner as it is very important to me as a first time mother to have someone on my side who cares and makes me feel taken care of. Unfortunately, I didn't find that with Dr. Morrissey. She was condescending and generally annoyed with my questions. She kept referring me back to a brochure when I was asking about the genetic testing and expressed an attitude of "don't question what I say, I'm the doctor" when I declined a flu shot. I was absolutely disgusted with her behavior and very uncomfortable with the thought of this woman delivering my child. If you are looking for a physician to be your partner in the pregnancy and birthing process, I highly recommend that you look elsewhere. read more

It took the idiot receptionist twenty minutes to tell me that they don't have any appointments until March. Why did I have to be put on hold for 20 minutes for her to come to that conclusion? I am basing my review on Dr Peng only. I have been going to Alessandro Ob & Gy center for three years. I had Pamela Payne as my first Dr the first year. After a suspicious pap smear result, I was transferred to Dr Teng to have a colposcopy that came out good, but needed a pap smear every 6 months which I did. I had taken a regular appt last February 29 for a regular check up and we decided with my husband it was about time to start asking questions about pre pregnancy and pregnancy. So the nurse came in (always very nice) and I told her I had questions about pregnancy and told me to ask them to Dr Peng when she'll be there. Dr Peng came in, I told her right away about my inquiries. She seemed to be in a hurry and barely cared about what I had to ask. She nodded, and asked me to put my feet on you know what. And here is what I heard while being examined: "well you take lactic acid for 2months before conception". And was about to leave the room. I had to excuse myself for having two more questions: One being that my older sister have had three miscarriages, was I most likely to have some. The other being about a very serious genetic illness my husband has in his family. She said she never heard of it, but will get back to me on it, then added in an annoyed voice (perfectly knowing I have a HMO): "you know, you will have to check with the front desk because I cannot follow you for pregnancy care if you are not PPO". And left the room, letting me speechless to see how careless she was... Useless to mention she never got back to me to me about the genetic illness. This dear doctor see you as a client, certainly not as a patient. If you don't make her richer at the end of the day, she will not care about you. The funniest part is, when I went to the pharmacy 10 days after my appt to have (as every month) my new birth control pill. (I am still on it) The pharmacist told me she was not able to provide me with my medicine because Dr Peng has never responded to their faxes (3 in a week) asking for a new authorization for refill. So here is my review I promised to the the Alessandro center. read more

My husband and I first saw Dr. Morrissey and liked her instantly. We ended up having an ectopic pregnancy and Dr. Morrissey was beyond amazing to us. When she first gave us the news she was very empathetic but direct and answered all our questions. When we found out we were expecting again Dr. Morrissey got me in right away for labs and an ultrasound at 6 weeks. She was very happy and comforting to us. Then we got to see Dr. Chvotzkin for our prenatal care, I was worried I wouldn't like her as much as Dr. Morrissey but we loved her too! She is so kind and reassuring and answers all my worrisome questions patiently. She has called with results as late as 8:30pm just to make sure we're up-to-date and aware of what's going on. The staff have always been friendly as well, especially Dr. Morrissey's assistant. We are very happy with the care the doctors have shown us. read more
