Oddly enough, my dog had scratched my eye that same morning, and while I was there I asked if there was any chance someone could take a look at it, even though I had never been a patient before. Without hesitation, they welcomed me in and took such incredible care of me. I truly cannot describe the level of warmth and hospitality in this office. From the moment I checked in with Pam and Delia, I felt so welcomed. Robert checked on me while I waited, asked thoughtful questions, and even asked about my beloved dog, the culprit behind my scratched eye, which immediately made the experience feel so personal. Then there was Veronica, who triaged me and somehow made that part of the visit genuinely FUN. I apologize to anyone in the lobby if my laughter was echoing out of the treatment room! She was an absolute joy. And finally, Dr. Bradley Richlin was exceptional. He was incredibly thorough, immediately put me at ease, and somehow answered questions before I even had the chance to ask them. I felt completely confident and comfortable in his care. There was never a moment where I felt rushed or like an inconvenience for having walked in unexpectedly. What could have been a stressful Saturday with an injured eye turned into such an unexpectedly pleasurable experience. The kindness, professionalism, humor, and genuine hospitality of every single person I encountered were remarkable. I literally walked out thinking, "When can I come back?" He was finishing with another client, and was able to ask if I was looking for anything within the next minute. I described the size & style of what I was looking for, and in less than 5 minutes we had 3 great pairs for me to try on. I was pretty sure I had found my choice within the first round of frames. But just to be sure, Boris took the time to have me try on another 4 frames which were all great suggestions. If money was unlimited I would've left with 3 pairs. Once I was settled on my choice, we sat down to clarify the lens details. Boris wasn't pushy at all, was informative, and completely transparent with the pricing breakdown. My prescription has not changed in 20 years. Recently, I was recovering from pink eye while all three of my children--including my infant son--were home sick. I had thrown out my last pair of contacts because of the infection, but Dr. Yang would not authorize even a one-time refill without an in-person exam, even after I emailed explaining the situation. I wasn't asking for unlimited refills. I just needed one more pair while my children and I recovered fully. I need lenses to function normally and the denial significantly impacted me. Given that my prescription has been stable for years and my current lenses work well, I found the refusal to offer even a short-term solution unnecessarily rigid. I was also surprised that someone so recently recovering from pink eye would be expected to come into an optometrist's office. Thankfully, I discovered that Walgreens offers an online vision test now!!! I was able to renew my prescription remotely and order new contacts instantly. This is such a huge relief! I'm sharing this so that anyone else who finds themselves in a bind knows there is another way to access the medical supplies they need. (I previously lived in the EU, where you can purchase contact lenses over the counter, so requiring an office visit for someone with a long-stable prescription seems excessive to me, and this was something Dr. Kummer was really reasonable about.)

After filling out a short form I was called in (early) Dr. Tiffany Li the optometrist took me back into the comfortable exam room and ran me through the various tests (I.e vision, pressure etc.) She has an amazing personality and made the whole thing pleasant. Along the way she answered my questions and explained everything fully. After, the front desk manager sat me down and went over all the pricing and options. As I know and expected it is very expensive. But, for something this important that isn't a great shock. Hence, I wasn't able to select my glasses today but will in several weeks when able. After doing a routine eye exam and go over the results they were able to get me a mild prescription (I don't have 20/20 vision FYI). Everything was so smooth and simple. I had already picked out some Ray Bans from Macy's. Just be sure to have the UPC code and model number. They can order just about any type for you if you have those two things. I've found my new optometrist.

I am writing this review in support of Optometric Café. I am generally a tough customer and will not satisfy easily but I am writing this recommendation note since I believe that this practice is worth it. Couple of weeks ago, I went to Optometric Café to check their sunglasses. At first glance, I was attracted by what I notice from outside of the store and their contemporary interior design. When I walked in, I was even more attracted by professionalism of staffs. The gentleman and lady in front desk were very helpful and gave me great information regarding glasses that would work better for me. My eyes were sensitive after I got my eye surgery. Optometric Café professionals provided me helpful information on various sunglasses and gave me helpful recommendations even regarding the frame design that would fit to my face and gave my eyes a better coverage, which was completely new information to me. There was couple of other customers in the store who were going to either order corrective lenses or trying sunglasses. I noticed how both staffs treated all customers professionally and patiently and paid a lot of attention to each customer's need. They took a time to adjust my sunglasses and did not let me leave until I was fully satisfied with my purchase. After all, I bought glasses that I needed for a more reasonable price than what I had found in other stores with the same quality. They also gave me nice accessories for free which I received those by additional charges in stores that I shopped before. These were what I expected from trustful professionals. I would like to visit them again not only for their welcoming and caring attitude but for the quality of services that they offer to their customers. I recommended Optometric Café to my friends and colleagues and those who took my advice and visited them, became one of their loyal customers. I bought a pair of glasses with progressive lenses from a custom lab before I moved to California. They were perfect, but unfortunately, the frames broke. So, I went to three different places over two years to find replacements but none of the glasses matched the quality of my original pair. After doing some research, I realized that the poor results were due to fitting and manufacturing issues. Nowadays, most glasses are manufactured in central labs, which eliminates the personal touch required when working with progressives. So, I started looking for a place with an in-house lab and found Optometric Cafe in Beverly Hills. Although it was a bit out of my way, I decided to give them a try. When I called for an appointment, I spoke with Morteza, the owner, who was kind and pleasant. He quickly scheduled my exam and personally handled the fitting and measurement process. When I received my glasses, the quality was incredible, which confirms the importance of fitting and measurements. I had never been to an optometrist in my life and I am 36 years old! I was in Beverly HIlls walking around and found myself in Morteza's (owner) store checking out their wide selection of sunglasses. I decided that for the first time in my life I would inquire about getting an eye exam. Morteza immediately called Dr. Domroy, who dropped what he was doing to come in to do the exam so I would not have to come back again. Dr. Domroy was there in minutes and he had me in the exam chair immediately! I never expected an eye exam to be as easy as this experience was. I had such a pleasurable experience today meeting Morteza and his staff. Morteza was incredibly helpful and friendly; after my eye exam, he showed me a variety of different frames to choose from for my new night-driving glasses. I found a great looking pair, that also happened to be on sale, and were extremely reasonably priced. Morteza also has an in-store laboratory so all of his client's lenses are made on the premises. I have been wearing glasses since the age of 12 (I'm 40 now), and due to my astigmatism, I have not ever been able to be fit with contacts that work for me. FINALLY!!! Disappointing experience, contradictory information, and poor post-sale support…read more I decided to try Westwood Eye Care based on their promises to work closely with patients to find the right frames and resolve any issues if things didn't go as expected. I am usually far too busy to write online reviews and almost always let minor issues go; I only spend the time to write a review when a situation is so egregious that I feel I have no other option. Unfortunately, my experience here crossed that line and fell far short of what was promised. During my initial consultation, I was guided through my options and decided to upgrade to premium progressive lenses. I trusted that I was being given complete, accurate guidance. However, when the glasses arrived, I experienced a severe glare that made reading difficult--an issue I had never encountered with my previous glasses. When I brought this up, I was told the problem was that the frames were too wide. Given that I relied on their expert staff to advise me during selection, this was frustrating to learn after the fact. To resolve the glare issue, I agreed to switch to transition lenses and select different frames. While I was promised a turnaround time of 7 to 10 business days, it has now been three weeks. Despite providing my name and date of birth every time I called so staff could look up my file, I received completely conflicting stories: One representative informed me that my lenses had already arrived and were simply waiting to be fitted into the frames. When I followed up later after hearing nothing, another representative told me the lenses had not arrived at all and had no explanation for why I was told otherwise. To make matters worse, I was subsequently informed that I could not exchange my frames because insurance would not cover it, and they offered to sell me a second pair at a discounted rate instead. At no point during my original purchase was it indicated that frame sales were final or non-exchangeable, especially when the issue stemmed from being advised into an ill-fitting frame in the first place. Addressing frame fit or prescription issues should be a basic part of customer service, not an added cost shifted onto the patient. Despite their marketing promises to ensure customer satisfaction after delivery, the gap between what was promised and what was delivered was huge. Between the severe lack of organization, conflicting communication, and refusal to take responsibility for an incorrect frame recommendation, this has been an exhausting process. At this point, I simply want my original frames and lenses back so I do not have to deal with this establishment any further. If you value your time and expect clear, honest communication, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. I have changed my review from 1 star to 2 starts since, after my complaint, the business offered to replace my frames free of charge. I will be waiting to get my glasses in 7 to 10 business days...
