I'm very picky about glasses and I can spend hours trying on glasses without finding a pair so I really appreciate when people are patient with me. The owner had the best patience I have ever experienced while I was trying on glasses; literally I think he has unlocked every glass case because I've wanted to try on various styles. The first time I didn't even buy anything (I'm too indecisive), and after trying different stores I eventually came back and had to special-order the glasses I wanted. Through it all I never got the impression that he was annoyed of me! After my first pair of sunglasses I have since gone back and bought my prescription glasses from Optometric Café too. As always the owner was friendly and helpful. I found Optometric Café by chance while eating some Pinkberry with a friend and even though it's far from where I live, I keep going back. I met Morteza through my father, Mike Ross. We both had to get new glasses and an eye exam. I went to the beautiful office in Beverly Hills and was greeted by his wife and lovely dog. The store is open and clean and there are many options for glasses. We found the perfect pair of glasses quickly and I love them! My exam was great and the doctor was professional and even made me laugh. I got a very nice follow up call to ask how my glasses fit and if I need anything I am welcome to either store location and they will make any adjustments. I went in to have a loose screw repaired on glasses I bought elsewhere. They were super nice and wouldn't accept payment for the service. I can go on and rave about the different types of designer frames they carry that no one else does, but that is expected of a Beverly Hills boutique! I bought a pair of hand made optical frames 2 years ago from Morteza (the owner) just because I loved the way they looked and felt. I live in Pasadena and had my regular optician put lenses on them. He could not put the hinges back together correctly and I had to bring them to Morteza to adjust them. Then he told me they are the authorized re-seller and carry special tools for that particular brand and right then and there he adjusted them for FREE (yes in Bevely Hills)! A month ago I needed new prescription lenses and this time I took them directly to Optometric Cafe, and Morteza spent a good hour explaining different lenses and their purposes, and together we chose one. Zeiss America was out of the lenses we chose together and he was sorry that I had to wait and did me a huge favor and got me even better lenses than the one we chose for the same original price!!! A few days later he called to make sure I was happy with my new lenses and I told them right there I'll be a returning for all my optical needs. That is what I call SERVICE... Terrible-Visioned Friends, I should have written this review years ago. I love Optometric Cafe. They are always extremely friendly and professional. About a year ago, I stepped on my eyeglasses and had been wearing them broken because I wasn't in the market for new glasses, and I couldn't easily find a pair that I liked. :/ I looked like a nerdy, hipster cliche in my broken glasses. Needless to say, I was feeling awfully low when Morteza swooped in and saved the day! He fixed my frames free of charge so they were wearable while I searched for replacement frames. He has been very attentive in helping me find new eyeglasses and sunglasses. I always have the hardest time because my face is small and most glasses, even the seemingly smaller-framed ones, look HUGE on me. Morteza has very good taste and gives you his honest opinion, which I truly appreciate. I haven't found the right pair yet, but we aren't giving up. I love that he doesn't try to sell. He wants me to be happy, even if it means shopping elsewhere (which I'll never do!) I also get my eye exams in-house. It's great because they will easily work around your schedule. I'm fortunate to work up the street, but even if I didn't, I would drive any distance to come here. Check them out! :) read more

Only reason i give this place a two stars is because of a cute dog that runs around. Very poor knowledge, doctor was unable to help my eyes. when a prescription was written out there was a totally different doctors name on it. The man in front is very aggressive and pushy, he has the worst service and if you do not know your info he will charge you an arm and a leg. Watch out for him. He does not like to help you over the phone either. I really regret coming here. read more

I purchased frames and lenses from Optometric Cafe on several occasions and have sent many people here who have also raved about their experience. They have an excellent selection of eyewear and Morteza provides superb and professional service (very rare these days) and he once assisted me in a pinch to repair my frames so I could get back to wearing them quickly (I need them for driving). Unlike a lot of the boutiques in the area, Morteza knows what he's doing--I actually found him because a few years ago, he fixed a pair of my sunglasses that I had taken to every other place in Beverly Hills--he was the only one able to assist me and it was actually a very simple fix--he did it within seconds at no charge. I am very sensitive to the eyewear, both reading and sunglasses that I wear. My eyes are extremely sensitive and really am dependent on my lenses. I've gone to a lot of optometrists and eyeglass stores and heard so many, "this is the best this is the best..." When I went to Optometric Cafe, Morteza was amazing. He was so helpful in the tremendous amount of time I spent there. I drove from Calabasas to the city to just see him, and was not let down. He showed me a variety of different shapes and styles and affordable ones too! He also was sooo great in getting both my Chanel sunglasses and my reading glasses with prescription. I asked how much it would cost to fix them, but he just smiled and fixed my specs on the spot--no charge! To sweeten the deal, not only is this place next to Urth Caffe (home of the best coffee), but Optometric Cafe also has an adorable "shoppe dogge" named Shadow. I was referred to optician Murtaza by several friends, they buy their glasses from this luxury ,and amazing place in the heart of Beverly hills, I was very pleased with the great service they provide it to me, I was impressed with the different , luxurious, and the best designer brand they have, they are most luxurious designer European, French, Italien ,.. and all brands I never saw in Los Angeles , all unique variety , Hollywood celebrity style glasses, I have my eye exam as well with their great doctors , then I have my prescription, and my glasses ready in a very short time, the optitian Murtaza was excellent, great knowledge and experience, I did appreciate his great customer service staff as well, I will come back to the optometric Caffè , any time I need my exam, or I need a new pair of glasses, I recommend Murtaza , his staff and his wonderful Business to Everyone . read more

I had my worst consumer experience in recent memory at Optometric Cafe. I came fully prepared to buy a pair of glasses. I'm not sure what I did to warrant such disdain, but highlights from the proprietor included "do your homework before you come here" and "don't waste my time." Judging from the disparity in the other reviews -- all 1 star or 5 star -- it seems you roll the dice when you walk in the door. It's hard to imagine what separates the people who are treated well from those who are treated disparagingly. But there are plenty of places to buy glasses. The service was poor along with their selection. The older man working there was extremely impatient and unwilling to help customers. He tapped his foot while we shopped as the female associate rolled her eyes at myself and friends shopping. I would be scared to go in the door again with those two working there. This is a great store with wonderful service. The day after Christmas, my wife and I were just walking on Beverly window shopping and the window display in the Optometric Café caught my eye. We were just visiting LA and had no intention of buying as we were leaving in two days. We loved the selection and the owner/manager (?) was terrific, he helped me find a pair of glasses I absolutely fell in love with. I was contemplating just buying the frames and having the lenses set back in Washington, D.C. I was assured that he could get the eye exam and the lenses made by the end of the next day. He was as good as his word. I saw the Optometrist later that afternoon and had my glasses by 5:15 the following day. He also did a great job fitting me. They have a great selection. They are nice people. They do what they say they're going to do. Their fast and efficient and the prices aren't bad. As an out of towner, I highly recommend Optometric Café. I absolutely love this place. And I've been to a lot of optical stores. The owner, Patty, had an excellent eye for helping me find glasses that looked great on my particular face. They had an excellent selection of high-end frames, with a great combination of conservative, playful, trendy and chic. The store were immaculate and very tastefully decorated. There was an appropriate amount of direction and help while looking, without feeling the pressure to buy (which is so nice). Patty was lovely and we ended up coming back the next week. My boyfriend bought ray ban sunglasses and I got a great deal on a pair of Oliver peoples glasses (with antireflective coat). We will be repeat customers for sure. Thank you Patty!!! read more

Morteza is amazing! My daughter broke her only pair of glasses, and cannot see without them. Morteza was the only optometrist that I could find to make her glasses within a hour, and didn't give me a hard time because her prescription was over a year old. All the other places needed several days. He is so kind, patient, and fair, and I will never go anywhere else again. He really went above and beyond. Best Experience Ever! So patient and professional, I recommed Optometric Cafe to everyone. I drive 20 miles one way in LA traffic (that's saying a lot) and pass hundreds of other shops, but would rather come here then go anywhere else. I'm new to wearing glasses and Morteza and his wife were so helpful and patient showing me so many different frames until they actually found the pair that fit my style and looked good on my face. I've been here twice and Morteza picked out both pairs, I honestly trust his judgement better than mine. I bought a pair of glasses at another place near where I live and there was no personal attention, they let me pick the wrong style of glasses for my RX and I waisted $400 on a pair that I couldn't (and haven't) used. My favorite pairs are the one's Morteza picked...I won't be going anywhere else but here! They really took the stress out of buying new glasses. I found Optometric Cafe one day when I was in Beverly Hills for work and was looking for a store that carried EyeBobs reading glasses. This place has the largest selection and even had my RX lens put in my new pair of EyeBobs, which are great frames and cheaper then normal frames.
