After visiting several large memory care facilities and neighborhood group homes, I was referred to Angela at Eden Estates. As the saying goes, she had us at, "hello!" The team is amazing! Angela's philosophy of care and commitment to excellence is unsurpassed. As a family, the owners are personally invested in the integrity and quality of life of the residents they call their Eden Family. Their kindness to both my husband and me during this difficult transition brought comfort and peace to us both. My husband adjusted quickly and easily to this setting, I believe because it feels much like any comfortable, caring home with a family. The caregivers learned early-on how to interpret his prompts and eagerly engage to meet his needs. I get to be his wife again and enjoy his company the days we have together. I'm so thankful we found Eden Estates for my Mom a year and a half ago. On our first visit my heart was overjoyed and at peace. When you can walk into a place that feels like home (always clean, very comfortable furniture, cozy bedrooms, beautiful decor) and smells like home (three delicious home cooked meals) you know it's a special place unlike any other elderly care facility you have ever been to before. The well trained, 24 hour staff, is top notch and truly loves and cares for the residents. They treat them like family, because at Eden that is what we truly are...a family! They accommodate your loved ones likes and interests, favorite movies, music, favorite foods, and even celebrate their Birthdays complete with decorations! Before COVID we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas together a few days before. We were able to bring our loved ones favorite traditional foods that remind them of home. This place is truly a home away from home. The medical care is exceptional. They work together with my Moms doctors and hospice nurse, always keeping me informed of the plan if anything changes. I know without a doubt that my mom is receiving the best care possible at Eden. Since COVID, Josh (the owner) took swift action to inform us that we are no longer allowed to visit in person. I know this wasn't what any of us wanted, but I am very grateful that his number one concern is the safety of the residents at Eden Estates and gladly abide. Because of this, all of our Eden family has remained safe and protected. He quickly set up an iPad so that residents can video chat with their families. I feel that he truly cares and has the residents best interest at heart. I have no words to adequately describe how grateful I am for Eden Estates and all of the staff working there each and every day. It has been such a blessing in my life. I sleep better at night knowing my Mom is safe and sound at Eden.

The business, Like Family Home Care, I was approached by the owner, Adam, who conducted an assessment of my home. He demonstrated exceptional attentiveness to my needs, which immediately impressed me. He was very experienced. I was subsequently assigned to five caregivers, with Kelsey being the most present. Kelsey is exceptionally caring and passionate about her work, prioritizing the well-being of her clients. She effectively assisted me with showering, dressing, mobility, and transfers. Kelsey gained valuable experience in cleaning and dressing my wound, as well as helping with my daily chores, including cooking, laundry, and cleaning my home. I highly recommend Kelsey. All the caregivers provided exceptional support throughout my recovery. Adam and Amber were particularly helpful in every situation. Met with the owner Traci, and it seems great service trickles down. They were able to start service at the last minute and were extremely accommodating. Traci was also helpful with referring various other services for my aging parents such as maid service and medication management. I would recommend it if you or your loved one's needs are fairly simple. However, the staff does not stay awake at night, and some get angry if they are awakened. They have a literal "bell" system to call for help that they conveniently don't hear most of the time. The only real activities they offer are watching TV. I ended up moving my mom out after only 3 months because they only have one bathroom that is shared by 5 residents and staff. A second bathroom is in the master suite where a couple of residents live and is for their sole use. They do have commodes available also.

Through experience I have come to believe that staff turnover is highly correlated to quality and consistency of care. As I searched I was looking for an intimate and clean setting with low staff turnover as an indicator that the staff were happy in their job and therefore capable of providing consistent high quality care. Many, if not most at Parkland have been there 5-6 years. It was no contest. Parkland is a great facility, built specifically for memory care patients. What truly impresses, though, is the caring, attentive nature of the staff...and I mean everyone from the executive director to the caregivers!! They actively engage the residents and are kind, attentive and respectful. I am so happy I made the choice to take her to Parkland. She recently passed but loved her time there, especially loved the staff and the residents. If you have choice, you need to look at Parkland first. Incredible!

Took good care of her really were sincerely interested in her well-being. About a year and a half later she had a terrible stroke and went to the hospital. Parkland said let's bring her home because you have eight brothers and sisters and we'll have a hospital bed and a 24 hour nurse so you guys can visit with your mother. She passed a week later, and everyone in the family got to see her, or get a telephone conference, to say they loved her. We highly recommend Parkland memory care for your consideration.

Everyone from the office staff to the caregivers are incredibly friendly, and most of the…read morecaregivers are very hard workers. However, the company had a hard time finding caregivers who met just a few basic requirements even though prior to signing up we were advised it shouldn't be a problem. It also functions more like an independent contractor model, so there was no stability in keeping the same caregiver (e.g., one took the job but didn't have reliable transportation for doctor appointments even though we communicated in advance that this was a primary need, one didn't want to stay on the job because they didn't want one that involved a lot of transportation to appointments, another didn't want to stay on the job due to the commute time). With each change, we had to train new caregivers, which was time consuming. So we're trying out a company where the caregivers are actually employees of that organization, and when caregivers are switched out they handle the training so that we don't have to. So far so good with this other model; it works much better for our specific needs which Granny Nannies was unable to meet. But again, everyone was super friendly, it's just a very difficult business model that doesn't work for our situation.
