I needed Help "helping" my Dad. It's been almost 3 years now and I can show up any time of day or night and "catch" them being kind and compassionate and "on the job" with him even though he now requires almost constant care and supervision. Under Ryan Love's leadership the staff has made it as easy and painless as they can to help me face and make Tough Decisions as we progress along the memory loss path. The kitchen puts out restaurant quality food - it looks good, smells good, tastes good and has as much nutrition as they can pack in there to support the health and well being of the residents. The facilities team is vigilant about small and large projects and never make you feel like your request is an imposition. The transportation that is made available brings peace of mind when as a working adult you cannot always be there in the middle of the day for appointments. The healthcare team is responsive and supportive with "no judgement". I have had uncomfortable conversations with them and felt completely respected and accepted. They partner with the community to host children, youth and other civic minded groups to come in and interact/entertain the residents. This link to the world outside the 4-walls is so important and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Towards the end of her stay I was advised to send my mom to a skilled nursing facility to continue working on her recovery/therapy. I was able to get her into a place not knowing what this place was going to turned out to a horribly wrong choice. With the help of my moms health insurance I was able to call DESERT COVE NURSING CENTER thanks to Crystal (I have so much gratitude for) was able to get my mom into a room, my mom has been here for 4 days thriving tremendously, she has been treated so well here than she was at the other place acute facility. So far my mom's strength has improved we are still working on balance and able to stand/walk without needing assist with determination we will get there. Thank you Desert Cove for giving me the peace of mind that my mom is being taking care of after hours and treating her with the upmost respect. Also the food has been great housekeeping wonderful; housekeeping comes in every day once a day. In my opinion if you are needing a short term rehabilitation I highly recommend desert cove. I was her care taker and had to have surgery on my foot that left me non weight bearing for 6 weeks. When my mother took a turn for the worse as a family we made arrangements for my sisters to come down and take over her care. We were told by an English solcial worker we could not have respite for the 2 days until my sisters got here. You read that correctly TWO DAYS THEY WOULD NOT HELP OUT! I had to roll water into her with crutches. They refused care even though they were getting paid by Medicare, hello fraud? We had to pay $400 for medical transport her down to my daughters house in Tucson. Please save yourself frustration and heartaChe and don't use them!

His thoroughness, attention to detail, compassion, and outstanding bedside manner truly stood out to me. He took the time to listen, was attentive to my concerns, and made me feel that my health and well-being genuinely mattered. I have visited this ER multiple times in the past, and although I have had one experience that wasn't the greatest, this visit stood out above all the others. I also want to recognize every single staff member who played a part in my care. I sincerely wish I had gotten everyone's names, from the patient care specialists at the front window to the nurses, technicians, and everyone working behind the scenes in the treatment area. What impressed me most was witnessing how well everyone worked together. From coordinating laboratory work to imaging and everything in between, I could see the teamwork, communication, and dedication. Everyone took their responsibilities seriously while still treating patients with kindness, dignity, and respect. Yes, there was a long wait, but I also understand that emergency departments are busy and that patients have different levels of urgency. As someone who lives with chronic pain, I don't seek emergency care lightly. By the time I arrived, I had exhausted my other options and genuinely needed help. What meant the most to me wasn't just the medical care I received, but the compassion and understanding shown throughout my visit. Living with chronic pain can be incredibly challenging, and having a medical team that truly listens, takes my concerns seriously, and treats me with kindness and respect means more than I can express. ER experience, use a different hospital. Wait times are understandable, it's the ER…read more But, care once back in triage was dismal. They have no buttons to push if you need care. I had to hunt people down to get care for my 86 yr old mother. My mother had to sit in her urine. They didn't have a BP monitor or oxygen monitor on her for hours. The oxygen tank wasnt even turned on. When they did finally put the monitors on her BP was 192/78 oxygen 89 Blood work and test results several hours. My family has used several ER's in the valley and this was the worst experience by far.

Banner has a beautiful, huge facility but patient care is lacking. I was taken to a room off the lobby to get my machine. I have had a CPAP machine before and the most important part is getting the right mask. I was shown masks that were "upgraded" with memory foam and was told that the mask I would get would be similar. It was not. Why am I shown a mask I can not get? Also, they had very few out that I could choose from. Obviously, the person showing me the machine and mask has never used one! With the amount of money spent on the facility, how come Banner could not have a better display and choice of masks? I felt like I was annoying the employee by asking questions. It is sad that my insurance dictates where I have to go and it seems poor customer service is the norm.

It was the second day it opened...a little over three years ago. From my apartment on the 10th floor I look east across the beautiful campus and see the McDowell Mountains and the rising sun each morning, as well as students scurrying, riding skateboards, and hurrying to class. Residents are also able to take classes tuition free and participate in many campus activities. It's an easy walk to the football and basketball facilities, and my favorite, baseball, is just four miles away. The Gammage Performance Center is an easy walk, as well as the many shops downtown. For transportation we have light rail that goes all over the Valley, just a short ride to see the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Phoenix Suns, or the Phoenix Symphony! Similar facilities are remotely located...go out the gate and see desert or a residential neighborhood. We have shops, groceries, a drug store, entertainment, and a movie theater! My one-bedroom apartment is spacious and comfortable with maintenance and cleaning included. Our computer/TV guy Trevor is one of the top five reasons to live here...get a new printer...he will make it work in no time!! Our maintenance people are prompt and pleasant for issues with appliances or repair of anything that comes up or to assist in special projects. We also have three restaurants serving a variety of new items as well as old favorites. Many ASU students work in the restaurants and our underground parking garage. None of us get into a hot car because it's all underground! Valets provide airport service and also drive those without with a car for appointments within a reasonable distance! Residents are also kept busy going all over the Valley in 15-passenger buses to varied locations. Many events and speakers are offered; it's sometimes impossible to do it all. One floor is designated as Assisted Living and another for Memory Care. So if you are thinking about moving from the big house that's heavy maintenance, don't wait until you have a fall or accident. Come here, meet new people, and join in the activities. If you have grown children, it's a great gift for us to all downsize and know there are people nearby to help as we grow older and less able to handle the burden of home ownership or living alone. When I told her I was told between 430 and 530 and not 430 and 6 o'clock. She was rude. As I said, she was rude, but Ricky was great so when I called on Monday to let management know of the situation, I spoke to Shane. He was very nice and apologetic; however, he is not the one that should've been apologizing. In fact, the call to him should never have happened .
