We put our 95-year-old mother who had serious memory issues in Parkland memory care, and they were absolutely wonderful. Took good care of her really were sincerely interested in her well-being. About a year and a half later she had a terrible stroke and went to the hospital. Parkland said let's bring her home because you have eight brothers and sisters and we'll have a hospital bed and a 24 hour nurse so you guys can visit with your mother. She passed a week later, and everyone in the family got to see her, or get a telephone conference, to say they loved her. We highly recommend Parkland memory care for your consideration. read more

3 months ago I opted to move my mother to Parkland Memory Care even though the assisted living facility she was at had an impressive memory care unit. Through experience I have come to believe that staff turnover is highly correlated to quality and consistency of care. As I searched I was looking for an intimate and clean setting with low staff turnover as an indicator that the staff were happy in their job and therefore capable of providing consistent high quality care. Many, if not most at Parkland have been there 5-6 years. It was no contest. Parkland is a great facility, built specifically for memory care patients. What truly impresses, though, is the caring, attentive nature of the staff...and I mean everyone from the executive director to the caregivers!! They actively engage the residents and are kind, attentive and respectful. I am so happy I made the choice to take her to Parkland. She recently passed but loved her time there, especially loved the staff and the residents. If you have choice, you need to look at Parkland first. Incredible! read more

My mother in law and father in law both live at Parkland Memory Care. The facility is very beautiful and brand new! I have attached several photos. The staff truly care- as a Registered Nurse, I can tell ! They hired people who love what they do. The facility has a van for the residents to take field trips, which is very important (see photo) there is also a hair salon on the premises. My mother in law always has a fun manicure each time I visit ( different colors or holiday theme). There are plenty of activities ( see attached photo of artwork) . When we visit, we can eat a meal with my mother and father in law for a nominal fee. If you are looking for a memory care center for your loved ones, look no further than Parkland Memory Care Center! Parkland is terrible they are disgusting and unsanitary. They do not take care of their patients how they should. They allow med techs to treat everyone like garbage. I walk into my family members room and it smells like feces and urine. I find food thrown in showers and soiled wipes all over the floor. This is the last place you should ever want your loved one. read more

I have been a hospice nurse for 5 years, and before that, was in home health for 17 years. I have tended to hundreds of residents in many different facilities, all over the valley, during those 22 years. Many of the facilities are beautiful visually, but all of that doesn't matter, if the staff is not good. The staff at Parkland is beyond top notch. They treat their residents with the respect and care they deserve. Many facilities tend to forget "little things," like, brushing hair, brushing teeth, wiping faces after meals, changing a persons clothes daily. Now with the Covid situation, families are unable to come in to advocate, and knowing that dementia residents can't complain, the care and respect for the residents has drastically declined in many facilities I go to. Parkland has kept such integrity during this crisis, and I can say has kept their residents extremely safe as well. If my parents ever needed a memory care unit, Parkland would be the only place I would have them go! read more

My wife has been at this facility for a little over a year now. The facility is only a couple of years old so it looks great and it is well-maintained. The staff are as caring and attentive as one could expect, and I feel my wife receives great care. After new management came in about a year ago, the leadership has been very communicative and responsive to concerns. The Executive Directory and Wellness Directory (head nurse) shared their mobile numbers with me and I can text or call them at any time with concerns. The have handled the COVID-19 crisis admirably, exceeding requirements of AzDHS when there was an outbreak, keeping it under control while in other such facilities it spreads like wildfire. They have also been completely transparent about what is happening (unlike other places I've heard about). Finally, I lucked-into Parkland on my first try to place my wife. I have spoken to several other family members who moved loved-ones there from other facilities. To a person, they say it's a night-and-day difference. read more

My mom is celebrating her 1 year anniversary at Parkland. I couldn't be happier with care she is receiving. This was a big move putting my mom into a memory care facility but I'm thrilled my brother found Parkland!! The place it's self is beautiful, the grounds are lovely and the staff is so caring and compassionate. I live to far to visit my mom every week so they make it easy for her to take my calls. She's even getting good at FaceTime. She is so happy to have so many friends. It is hard on the family when our loved one gets dementia/Alzheimer's. Can you imagine how hard it is on the person effected? Parkland's top notch care makes them feel special and puts you at ease. I miss my mom every minute of everyday. Parkland Memory Care has been GREAT to work with. I have had a handful of our clients that have lived at Parkland. The care has been top notch and the communication with the management has been great as well. What I like most is having the ability to talk directly with the management with any issues that my client's were facing and then to have them correct those immediately. This is an excellent memory care facility. All the staff are hands on from the executive director, the cooks and the gentleman that does the maintenance. You can walk onto the unit at anytime and see employees who are attentive and engaged with the residents. The facility is bright, rooms spacious but also encourage the residents to go outside of their own space to mingle with staff and other residents. There is a range of activities from art to gardening. The courtyard in the middle is peaceful and set up for groups and families to enjoy. We were encouraged to call any time of time to check on our loved one and there was always someone that answered our call. We are very grateful to the knowledgeable, kind and professional staff who provided care to our loved one. read more

I toured Parkland Memory care last week for a friend of the family. It is considerably nicer than the others we visited. The staff was friendly and seemed very attentive to the residents. Parkland is an excellent Memory care facility! The staff is most attentive to the residents needs. The staffing ratio is one of the better in the industry. If I could give this facility 10 stars, I would. Parkland is a beautiful brand new facility and it has a very homey feel to it. I always feel welcomed when I arrive for visits. My family is so beyond impressed with all the workers, administration, and the facility itself. I have both my grandparents here and we had an awful experience with their last facility so we're over the moon and totally trust them with our loved ones. They are incredibly reliable and attentive to all their residents. I think some places label themselves as "memory care," but they play fast and loose with what that actually means in regard to the approach of their care. Most other facilities that offer memory care are split into 1) Assisted Living 2) Memory care and even 3) Independant Living. I loved that Parkland focused solely on memory care. Its comforting knowing that all their residents struggle with similar issues as my grandparents. You can tell their staff has training and they're extremely patient. They also have 24 hr RN's, traveling physicians at no extra cost and their caregiver/resident ratio is marvelous. They're also more accommodating than other facilities that I've had experiences with. The last place I had them at didnt engage them whatsoever, they sat on the couch all day and watched "Golden Girls," and then they were upset that my grandpa was difficult to redirect at night when his Sundowners would kick in. They ended up kicking him out and I was so nervous about finding a place that would tolerate some of his dementia related behavioral issues and I found THE place. They do different activities all day long so that they're engaging their residents. They take field trips as well and I know they love getting out in the world again. Throughout the search for a place for them to live, I became realllllly annoyed that you were forced to tour every facility and give them the runaround before you could find out that whichever place you were visiting was out of your price range. If you're looking for two elderly folks, it really adds up quickly! I signed the lease the day that I toured because I believed the care they were going to receive and the price point they were offering were too amazing to pass up. Their pricing is amazing and the care they get is top notch. Send your loved one here, I highly recommend them :) read more
