He never once followed through on anything, and he accused me of being the problem. He accused me of stealing the wheelchair that I bought on their demand, and claimed he had video evidence. I'm sure he did see me take the wheelchair out with my mother, but that's not evidence that I stole the chair. They did return the money after I called them out 2 weeks after they stole our money. I'm still going to have to go to small claims court for the services that they documented that they didn't do. If you love the person you are caring for, then DON'T GO HERE!

When I arrived from Chandler Regional Hospital, the head nurse informed my husband and I that he didn't have any information regarding my meds which I was due for w/in an hour. I was on significant pain meds as well as time sensitive meds, yet I went 36hrs before all of my meds were administered, and only because I called the hospital and convinced one of the nurses there to help. I spent my first 36hrs at the facility in excruciating pain. In the first 2 wks I was in the facility, I was unable to attend physical therapy at least half of the time because the staff failed to administer my meds on time throwing me back into unmanageable pain. I had gone into this facility because I was not capable of caring for myself at home, & I believed my husband & kids would be able to work and not worry about me. Unfortunately, that was anything but true. My daughter had to leave work in Casa Grande 3 times to get nurses to listen to me, my husband had to leave work early nearly every day to sit with me & make sure my meds were given on time, and my son stayed late into the evening to make sure I was being taken care of. I was a patient due to a diagnosis that causes extreme pain when touched, I had to repeatedly remind nurses and even hung signs to alert them to my needs, yet several nurses still literally argued with me about my needs. (even when ordered by a dr). My stay didn't relieve any stress on myself or my family, it only caused more. You would think this alone would be enough, but this stay had even more... I wasn't given a menu to chose my meals until the 2nd week, didn't even know there where menu options until my husband asked. (after having to bring me my meals). The meals that I would eat were good, but usually cold. My 1st wk there I was diagnosed w/ shingles, so I was quarantined to my room, I had to bathe in the sink. Even w/ limited mobility. My 2nd wk I was offered a shower after 9pm, and wasn't able to shower until my 3rd week when I mentioned to my physical therapist that I hadn't showered since I arrived. During my entire stay, my sheets were NEVER changed despite multiple requests. You would think this would be enough, but then comes the Doctor. Dr Kane. If you are thinking you will see a Dr that listens to you, answers your questions, has an ounce of compassion, think again! He answers questions with "Oh we will take care of that", "You don't need to worry about that", spend MAYBE 5 min in the room with you, then send you a bill for 30 min visits at $250+ for each time he walks into your room! When it was time to be discharged, I required enough meds until I could see my own Dr. 5 days later. One of my meds was prescribed at 1.5 tablets every 4hrs. Dr. Kane called in a prescription for 15 tablets, enough for about a day and a half. This way, they could keep me an extra 4 days. When I first brought it up to Dr Kane, he said I would figure it out, when I said something in front of the case worker, suddenly he realized his error and laughed it off. Even after I got home, the horror of the Nursing Facility wasn't over. I suddenly had several sores show up on my abdomen. A visit to my PCP and I was diagnosed with cellulitis from insulin injection sites administered by nurses at Desert Cove. All in all, except for the CNA's, and maybe 3 of the nurses who cared for me in almost 4 weeks, my stay at this facility was like all of the horror stories you hear about nursing facilities. I know I spent the 1st 36 hours of my stay screaming and crying in pain, and many nights listening to others do the same. The only positive about this place is their PT/OT providers, they seemed to be the only ones to care about their patients. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

We live in Arizona and the temperature was over 100 degrees when they literally shoved my father in the back of a non air conditioned van. When I say shove I mean aggressively slamming him into the van repeatedly. If I was there this would not have been allowed to happen but unfortunately I wasn't. What happened to my dad was abusive and careless.

When I saw the doctor, I explained my symptoms, but from the start, I felt like my concerns were being dismissed. He made a comment that high blood pressure is "better than low," which didn't feel reassuring given why I was there. He told me the plan was to do blood work, an EKG, and give me another dose of my blood pressure medication. I had my blood drawn and waited, expecting to be called back for the EKG. Instead, the doctor later came to tell me that my "EKG and blood work" were normal. I had to point out that I never actually received an EKG. He responded that he must have been thinking of another patient, which was concerning in itself. He then said he didn't think an EKG was necessary anymore, even though it had been part of the original plan. He recommended that I start taking my blood pressure medication twice a day and discharged me. This left me feeling confused and uneasy. After doing some research the next day, I learned that I am already on the maximum recommended dose of that medication, and increasing it is not typically advised. Overall, I left feeling that my concerns weren't taken seriously and that the care I received lacked attention to detail.

I called the office to see what was going on the woman I spoke to, I believe her name was ReAnn.', was rude. She told me at one point he was 20 minutes away then she said 5 minutes away. When I asked her which one it was, she said, " well, before I was interrupted, you asked for an estimated time. In the situation I was in I didn't need her rudeness or sarcasm. When I told her I was told between 430 and 530 and not 430 and 6 o'clock. She was rude. As I said, she was rude, but Ricky was great so when I called on Monday to let management know of the situation, I spoke to Shane. He was very nice and apologetic; however, he is not the one that should've been apologizing. In fact, the call to him should never have happened . Because of Ricky and Shane, this place gets four stars. What I use them again? Yes,,only if the transport was in town.

Long but worth reading. My Grandma was admitted here for…read moreabout 3 weeks and she had a bad experience. DO NOT GO HERE! First week the night shift came in huffing and puffing and grabbed personal walker that was brought in with my grandma (not their equipment) and the lady grabbed it throwing it against the wall for no apparent reason. Mind you my grandma didn't speak any English and wasn't able to communicate well but this doesn't mean their staff should be able to grab clients personal belongings and try to destroy them. 2nd week here while they took grama to therapies within the building at some point the nurses left her hanging on the bed, if it wasn't for a family member that came in to visit her who knows how long she would have stayed like this. For your information, she wasn't able to pull herself up onto the bed as she had a shoulder injury and wasn't able to sustain herself up she needed assistance throughout the day. Lastly, the nurses never offered her a shower her, us the family members had to constantly be asking them to shower her (which they never showed up so we ended up showering her ourselves), clean the bathrooms, stock the briefs/wipes, we were doing their job during the day. Some nurses peeked in Avery 2 hours saw how she was doing and left. Didn't check if she was soiled, didnt check if cleaning was needed in the bathrooms etc. mind you each room is occupied by 2 patients. They didn't use their interpreting system to communicate with her at all, which all this is paid for by her insurance so there is absolutely no reason for lack of communication. I had left my contact information for them to call me and specifically stated to contact me anytime of day and my grandma had signed a release of information with my info. On it but apparently this means nothing to them. Family members were not able to stay overnight but rest asure we were there the second doors unlocked in the mornings. Morning shift was great, sure, I think because we would be on them asking for what was needed but when night shift came my grandma had the worst of experiences. Please don't leave your loved ones here. Yes, we did complain but nothing was done about it. We even requested the name of the nurses and all we got was "ooh I'm not sure who it could have been we'll look into it though." Even though I provided the date and times this happened which each nurse is assigned to a specific hall/room. I also gave score of 1's when they called me a week later to ask about my experiences. I said all of the above but til now, no one has called me to check in or to notify if anything was done about how my gramma was treated.
