For three years I cared for my mother as she battled dementia, it was one of the hardest experiences of my life, I struggled to understand her mood swings her refusal to eat, shower, or take medication. I eventually had to accept that I didn't have the skills or knowledge to provide the care she needed, after moving her four times since 2022 I was feeling hopeless until one day in March 2023 I overheard a woman at the grocery store raving about a place of joy she described it as heaven on Earth a place where her father was cared for with love and dedication her words stuck with me and I decided to visit from the moment I walked in I felt something different the owner Chela is incredibly attentive to detail and it's clear that she runs this home with both expertise and a huge heart every time I visit often unannounced I see caregivers who are genuinely happy always smiling and treating the residents with kindness and patience. Most importantly I always see the residents happy. the name says it all this truly is a place of joy, if you're looking for a group home where your loved one will be treated with dignity compassion and expert care this is it. I am beyond grateful to have found this place and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking the best care for their elderly family members

She is well fed, the facility is always clean, the meals are wonderful, and she is as happy as one can be under her circumstances. Her husband, my uncle, visits regularly, and always knows he will find his wife up and dressed, having a meal, or just finishing one, with clean linens on the bed, a comfortable chair where she feels safe, and people around who care for her and make her feel safe. I am grateful for the peace of mind my uncle has knowing the staff care greatly about and for my aunt which allows him some sense of comfort since they cannot be together in their home. Thank you all for not only caring for my aunt, but for the tenderness with which you care for my uncle as well. He is a wonderful man, and a wonderful husband to my aunt for over 65 years. The accomodations were just amazing. My parents stayed in one of the efficiency apartments and it was so nice that they felt like they were at home. Because of my fathers dementia he couldn't really go to the cafeteria so my mother was able to order meals and have them delivered and the food was wonderful. Paula, my parents favorite CNA, and the rest of the medical team was so patient with my father and, I feel, truly loved him. Even the janitorial staff was wonderful. I can't thank the CItadel staff enough for making my dads tranistion much easier and being so warm and kind to my parents. I just can't imagine a better place to recommend. XOXO

BEDBUGS! The whole facility! 7 years straight! They cant get rid of them after trying almost…read moreeverything. Notice the new carpet inside. That was the last attempt to get rid of the bugs. My dad and his room mate were crawling with them. In their hair laying eggs, in the bedding, clothes, covered! Your loved one will be bagged up and carelessly thrown into another room for 7 days while they kill the bugs in their own room. Over and over. Rude staff that leaves people hollering in their rooms for hours...they dont answer the emergency buttons and friends of my dad died alone calling for help that never came. Poor food quality, rental hikes sometimes double without any advance notice, meds not given to most of them on time, countless excuses, zero entertainment and the place is filthy and stinks of urine everywhere. Horrible! Even if you hate your parents, this place is too much!! Last year the laundry room caught fire and the entire place had to be evacuated into the street since noone ever cleaned the lint traps. fun fun. Myself and the nurses that came in to work with my dad said over and over this place needs to be shut down. The front desk ladies are trained to have great big smiles.....its all a load of crap. Don't fall for this place. All the residents can only complain with nothing ever getting better. Pure hell hole! Sickens me!

These were all things my family and I truly needed for her as we are out of state. You see mom moved in as an "emergency" temporary stay due to several falls and weakening health, while we looked for a place in Minnesota but truly could not find anyplace with the amenities, and what we felt was sunshine and happiness that we could all afford here, and then she met her boyfriend and chose to stay in Mesa. The staff at Broadway Mesa are angels to me, always have been, even more since mom passed away recently. During Covid-19 quarantine we were trying to figure out how to come in to clear her apartment, and the staff stepped up to take this on for us - one additional piece of stress they took away. Like I said when you walk into Broadway Mesa it is open and sunny and people, both residents and staff, are friendly and make you feel like you are part of their family. I can't ever thank them enough for the care and love they gave my mom over the years, but also for the care and love they showed me and my family, and still are.

Even at my requests, they would not open the gates so he could resume his normal life. You wont be able to communicate with then one on one again....ever. They insist on emailing back and forth cause they are "So busy" with the12 people that live there. disgusting. My dad had a dual stroke and died from all the stress of them taking away his entire life and it took a week and a half and he was gone. Don't do this to your parents....even if you dont like them. Acoya of Mesa welcomed with my dad with open arms. My dad was welcomed to a balcony viewing the Superstition Mountains, started meeting new friends, and partaking in daily social events. My dad is now living on a cruise ship without water. The Acoya staff spoils him rotten. My family enjoyed a welcoming pizza party. We partake in Holiday feasts, numerous social events with the favorite being Karaoke night. Melissa, the director, often sings duets with the residents. Chef Chris asked my dad what his favorite food was, and it ended up on the menu! I researched several facilities prior to moving my dad into a senior living environment and Acoya of Mesa was the one we kept coming back to. My family and I are very happy to call Acoya home!!
