    A perfect dessert

First I will address the service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and helpful in making our choices. He answered several questions and made recommendations. At times he was swamped but his attitude was positive and professional. His command of English and French was outstanding. I inquired his name and he responded William. If you are fortunate enough to have him as your waiter, your experience will be top notch. We were hoping to sit outside but we had neglected reservations and we were seated indoors. The booth we were seated in was comfortable and the decor was lovely. Our orders varied from steak, salmon, braised wagyu tagliatelle, the last being brisket and octopus. Each was outstanding in not only flavor but presentation. For dessert we chose a chocolate mousse cigar. The picture shows its amazing creativity, but does most show the delectable taste. Our last night in Quebec City was incredible. Was it pricey, yes, but we felt every cent was worth this impeccable experience.

We were looking for seafood restaurants in QC and our hotel concierge recommended this one. Inside had an obnoxiously clubby vibe, but it was a nice summer evening and we were able to snag an outdoor table. The streets were quite busy due to the annual FEQ music festival happening a few blocks away. Service was good and their seafood selections were fine but not quite on par with anything we ate in Montreal. We had a later reservation and the whole experience began to devolve when the wait staff began to clear away all the tables and chairs around us. At this point we were not even beginning our main course. This was a jarring end to an otherwise nice evening. To the manager's credit he noticed our displeasure and applied a discount to our final bill.

Pour ma première visite, j'ai vraiment tout apprécié, le décor, le service et la nourriture. Bon coin tranquille pour un tête à tête entre couple ou encore à plusieurs.

Very good food. Fresh and great service. Would definite recommend and street side seating is nice

After a long day of travel from Woodstock N.B.,we checked into our hotel,Hotel Boutique Ophelia. We decided to have dinner at the Ophelia which was located on the first floor of our hotel. We sat at the bar because there were no tables available. Our server Nicholas was courteous and attentive .Our dinner drinks included a Dark and Stormy and a local beer which were refreshing and delicious. We had a scrumptious meal which included oysters, chowder, halibut and salmon. At the end of our meal, our ever attentive waiter surprised us with a slice of birthday cake and a chorus of Happy Birthday!! We give Ophelia a 5 star rating.

All around wonderful place. The ambiance was a 10 with art everywhere, dim lighting and seating on different levels. The food was so fresh and artfully done. I started off the the scallop ceviche with watermelon, lime, and fish eggs. My husband had the oysters and the sauces and oysters were so fresh. I moved onto Lobster radicchio with saffron and peas which was so delish and my husband had the Ribeye that was melt in your mouth. He didn't even need a steak knife to cut it. Our waitress was wonderful. Always checking in on us and helping us through the menu. 5 Star restaurant!

    Salmon was fantastic.

Everything about the meal and experience was top notch, despite a busy street for Festival. Good service, nice atmosphere. We will dine again when we return to Quebec.

Very impressive option for lunch. First, just by accident, we had reserved seating in a dome. Their domes are single table bubbles, incredibly well constructed , where you sit on the street watching the snow fall as warm as if you were in your bedroom. Fantastic. The food, though, was just as good. Eggs Benedict with duck confit was fab Rashti, probably the best hollandaise sauce I ever had. The sharing breakfast was also great. Steak and eggs was cooked perfectly, steak not over cooked, runny eggs that went well, and a fantastic pepper sauce. Bacon was tasty, black pudding was some of the best I ever had. French toast was light and hard to stop eating. Other elements also great. Although outside in your own bubble, friendly and attentive service.

This restaurant was EXCELLENT! I will go back when I return to Quebec! Myself and my crew members ate here and it was EXCELLENT! The seafood tower was tasty and fresh, my dish was great. The steaks were cooked well, the side dishes tasted good. And the wine was great, we had 2 bottles. The servers were pleasant and my dining experience was a 10!!

Nice ambient, friendly service. Food tasted awesome! They also have super cool outdoor clear igloo for seating if you reserve in advance.

Amazing FOOD, AMBIANCE AND SERVICE!!! The oysters were super fresh and delicious! Had the octopus and pork belly it was incredibly delicious. I would put this restaurant up against any in Las Vegas or any other place I have dined for seafood! This restaurant alone will bring me back to Quebec City.

We cannot complain about that. Our server was friendly and very charming. The meal was beautifully paced. The restaurant itself is very noisy. The food itself was disappointing. On the recommendation of our server we started with the carrot doughnut. The doughnut itself was lost under a mountain of ricotta. I would not have known that it was carrot, except that she had told us. We ordered two other starters : I ordered the foie gras pate and my boyfriend ordered the fried oysters. The pate was served on a small layer of sunflower butter, which was unnecessary. The pate itself was surprisingly flavorless. Homemade bread and blueberry jam served alongside was quite good. The fried oysters were completely drowned in buffalo sauce, another green sauce and "blue cheese foam". I would not have even known they were oysters. They were served underneath some cucumbers and peppers and lettuce. For our main course, we shared the blood pudding, which, despite the crazy number of ingredients actually was delicious. It was the best thing we ate. It was served with homemade bacon, a roasted artichoke heart, and some mussels croquettes. Seriously a lot going on. For dessert we ordered the spiced orchard dacquoise. Another complex, and I thought overly complicated dish, that my boyfriend felt worked well. It was presented nicely, and I remembered to get a picture of it. All in all, it seemed like there's just way too much going on in each dish and no particular flavor stands out. Two of the dishes, the fried oysters and the carrot doughnut were just sloppy and smothered. The boudin and the dessert were both beautifully plated, and the flavors worked better as well. The foie gras appetizer was unfortunately bland, and the main ingredient did not shine. Maybe it was an off night? Maybe we didn't order the best things? Evidently, they're doing something right because they've been going for 50 years, but we just didn't see that.

They really know how to celebrate food and have put great thought into their food combinations, elevating good quality ingredients into a fine dining experience. Le Hobbit is a cozy spot with a corner view of the city's dining/shopping street with great 2 seater tables to enjoy the private ambiance as well as some longer tables for groups of 4, 6, 8 to gather. Reservations is highly recommended/required. The atmosphere is very cozy with wood themes and very private. We had: - house lemonade - the foie gras seed butter and blueberry jam app; this is served on a broiche with a large amount of foie gras and homemade roasted sunflower seed butter; this was a very flavorful and filling starter for two - Poulet de Cornouailles - cornish roasted hen (the whole bird, small); was very delicate, served on mashed turnips, topped with an artistic grilled turnip and other veggies to cover the protein, it was a great experience to taste each component of the dish and have it come together well - veal flank steak with sauce on carrot puree and bitter vegetables - dessert (which changes frequently) was an artistic experience, a spiced cake with sauce, a uniquely (not my favorite) ice cream with candied bitter citrus peel served on top of toasted granola/sweetened biscuits The serving staff was super knowledgeable and presented each course and dish when served with further explanations on the ingredients, process, as well as how to best experience the dish. Most of the staff are also LOTR fans, so there is a nice opportunity to geek out together and see the inspiration for some of the dishes. Very much recommended for a nice evening out in Quebec City.

Absolutely adorable restaurant outside and inside. You feel like you're in a rabbit burrow. The decor is carefully thought out and charming. The pulled rabbit poutine was great with a mustard sauce instead of the brown gravy you usually get with poutine. The small appetizer poutine was already the perfect size to share along with our smoked duck winter salad and onion soup. Onion soup was made with ale and was covered in cheese. The only thing was that I wished the soup had more broth than cheese. But the onions were tender and cooked down thoroughly. The cheese pull you get is foot long! The broth had a depth of flavor that is not replicated elsewhere. I had the honey pie years ago and remembered that it was sweet, but very good. We didn't have room for dessert, but the maple amaretto creme brulee sounded amazing. All in all, a great meal everytime.

The tradition of table-side cooking is something that has largely evaporated, probably for many understandable reasons that might range from catching someone's hair on fire to the complexity of making waiters become chefs. Yet, Le Continental kept it alive and fortunate guests have the privilege to experience this. The restaurant was opened by two Italian immigrants 1956 in a historic house of old Quebec. Then, about a decade ago, ownership transferred to a gentleman who started here as a waiter at the age of 13 and now is the owner. If a story like that is not enough to cement the quality of Le Continental, consider that the team of waiters here has worked at Le Continental most of their lives. They are true masters of their craft. When it comes to wine, there is a pleasant, fairly condensed wine list focused on French appellations. Highlights of the menu are unquestionably the excellent steaks, in particular the filet mignon, as well as Pommes Dauphinese and Escargot.
