Opa is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is attentive and courteous without being overbearing. The food is delicious and made to order. So don't be in a hurry. Mediterranean food is made to be enjoyed slowly. Even when we show up with a large party they're accommodating. My favorite meal is the lamb chops. The spicy feta is the perfect amount of spicy. I tried the squid recently and it is fantastic. My family has enjoyed the chicken souvlaki and gyro platters. The stuffed chicken is so good too. The lemon orzo soup is perfect. In the spring and summer we enjoy the homemade sangria, although they do serve it year round. I would rate Opa 5 stars. I have never had a bad meal or bad service here. read more

We usually order from here for work events and I love it so I decided to try it for delivery since I'm working from home now. It was just as good! Delivery process was easy and tasted great. They give you large portions as well, so we have leftovers and can enjoy again. I love the gyro entree and chicken skewers. We got it with rice and salad and it was delicious. We also got the spinach pie app and that was great. Overall, a lot of food and great quality. Sorry to say that I did not have a good experience here. Let me start by saying that my boyfriend and I came here for dinner a few months ago and it was delicious. Today... it felt like a completely different restaurant. The chicken souvlaki was dry, chewy and tasteless. My avgolemono soup had a tiny piece of chipped ceramic in it -- like a broken piece of a plate or cup. It was a sharp piece too.. if I ate it I could have had some serious issues. We brought this to the attention of the waitress and nothing. She just apologized for what happened. A restaurant with standards would have given us at least a tiny discount. I would never just ask for one because I'm not that type of person .. but I think it would have been the right thing to do. Anyway, we will probably not return.. what a shame read more

Great Mediterranean Food! Just stopped in here to get take out because I am always on the road and like to try new places. Ops Grille was fantastic. I am trying to eat Vegan Mon-Friday - I am realizing it could be difficult to accommodate or explain everything to me. This young lady at the front explained every dish I asked about, but also told me what to stay away from because it wasn't a true vegan dish. Very honest, and honestly great service. I was in and out in about 5 minutes or so! I haven't gotten to the BEST part - the Food. The Food was out of this world. Falafel was one of the best ones I've had in awhile. Chickpea Orzo which is different for me was tasty. Salad was fresh, crunchy, and no brown leaves. Olives were tasty and pita bread was warm. Tahini sauce was yummy as well. I have no complaints here. During the work week myself and coworkers order from Opa Grille at least once a week. Specifically, the Greek salad with chicken with the chicken lemon soup has become our weekly staple, it is just that good. Occasionally I order the spanakopita which is a real delicious treat and has spoiled me from ordering this anywhere else. Worth mentioning is the love that can be tasted in each bite but the flavor in each dish is unparalleled and in my opinion the standard for how delicious Greek food should taste. With the new year just starting I'm on a new (mostly Vegan) diet and was upset to no longer indulge in my regular lunch staples. Thankfully, Taylor on the phone (who was so nice btw) suggested the chickpea soup which is dairy free and as much as it pains me to leave out the feta cheese, I ordered the falafel sandwich with tahini. I am so impressed with this as an option that I felt compelled to share with anyone who will listen. The falafel is honestly the best I have tasted on Long Island and is my new gold standard for how falafel should taste. The soup of the day chickpea soup was so beautiful and such a wonderful replacement for the chicken lemon soup (that I was seriously sad about not ordering) I could cry, it should find a permanent place on the menu! Found this place while out shopping, and decided to try lunch. There were a lot of great options on the lunch menu and they all came with a cup of soup. Our waitress Stephanie was very friendly and took the time to explain some of the dishes to us. Just had my bridal shower last weekend at Opa Grille and I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! All 50 of my guests raved about the food and great service! The food was served family style starting with pitas and dips, followed by salad, calamari, spinach pies, 3 different meats, string beans, potatoes, dessert, coffee and tea! Unreal... The office wanted Greek, so we decided to give this place a shot. We ordered 3 Gyro sandwich lunch specials with fries, and 1 chicken souvlaki salad. I pick up the food, get back to the office (literally 15 minutes ago), and open up the bags. We open our gyro sandwiches, no white sauce. I call the place and say "Hey, where's the white sauce?". The lady says it's on the side. There's nothing in our bag. In fact, for 4 orders of food, we received 3 ketchup packets and 2 sets of forks/spoons. No salad dressing or pita for the salad either. All I get is an "I'm sorry". Who eats Gyro sandwiches with no white sauce? No salad dressing for the salad? Give me a break... The gyro meat was extremely dry, pita wasn't the best either. The french fries were typical, nothing special. Soup was decent. Can't comment on the white sauce, cause...ya know... This restaurant will not be getting our business in the future. read more

Had the Caesar chicken lunch salad. It was good but not that filling..I would've enjoyed a nice Greek salad better if they had that as a lunch option. It came with a small lemon soup. They have frappé here which they didn't have a few months ago from what I remember! The frappé was okay but they made it way too strong! I asked for light and sweet but it was way too dark. Finally got a chance to come and check out this restaurant and I am SO happy I finally did. The place is really cute inside and enjoyed the selection of Greek music. The staff was so friendly n made sure we were happy while we were there. Now being Greek I didn't need help with the menu but our waitress made sure we didn't need any help. Everything we ordered was delicious!!! OH MY GOD the octopus was AMAZING. It was cooked to perfection which is hard to find!! The saganaki, tzatziki and taramasalata was awesome. I ordered the gyro platter which came w lemon potatoes and soup. I loved it!!!! It is hard to find really good Greek restaurants and I am so happy to say I found one so close to home. Last Saturday accompanied by Bonnie G. and Amanda J., came to an early 5:30 dinner at Opa Grill. On arrival the place was kinda busy with only a few tables free...by the time we finished the place was packed!..either go early or after 9. We always found the food here good and its still great! For Appys we tried the Cold Spread platter with 3 choices..we had Tiramousalata, Hummus and spicy Feta...all were delicious and nice portions and came with both regular and whole wheat pita. And we got a nice spinach Pie which was also beautifully prepared and MMM MMM Good!.....To help wash the food down we got a bottle of Greek Retsina...full bottle only $17 and we have grown to love it with Greek Food. Our Entres we got 2 Greek salads with Gyro meat on top...they were large, with lots of tasty warm meat on top of a crisp fresh salad with Feta Cheese generously sprinkled on top. I decided on trying the Pasticchio...ground meat topped with Bechemel Cheese! Came with Garlic String Beans and large side salad...IT WAS FANTASTIC!!. Loved every bite of it. We have tried both Opa's...this one and the one in Bethpage...this one in East Williston is our go to Greek! read more

We had high hopes for this restaurant. It would have been the closest Greek place for my family to go to in the neighborhood. The service was fine, without question. We were seated immediately. Nice atmosphere, nice impression of the place and the service. And then the appetizer came out. My mom had ordered the Greek salad, which looked like something that the kitchen had stocked after swinging by a Waldbaums and nabbing a bag of Dole's mixed greens. And not the arugula kind. And the dressing? We guessed America's Choice. The appetizer's only (partial) redemption was the grilled octopus, which would've been delicious had it not used the same America's Choice marinade. And then the main course. I ordered the grilled trout, which was probably a safety. Nothing special, but whoever had cooked it somehow managed to pop holes through the skin and overcooked it. I am here for lunch at least twice a week. I went to check it out the first week it opened. I was super excited for a geek place to go to for lunch.. and really really hoped that it would be good.... and guess what? IT IS GOOD. YAY. My co-workers also seem to really like the food here, plus you get so much food for less than $10 for lunch. I generally get the spinach pie or falafel and the meal comes with a choice of soup (they always have two or three to choose from each day) or salad. I have heard a lot of good things about this new local Greek restaurant so I decided to check it out. First impressions for those of you who have been to this location before it was formerly an unsuccessful steakhouse and then a breakfast and lunch joint Toast and Jam"z". They lasted a bit longer but nothing in this spot has been very successful. Overall decor has not changed much from its steakhouse days, although the restaurant is clean and modern looking. Good ambiance and greek music playing in the background. The menu has typical greek fare although the combination platters and specials seem to be lacking a bit. I had the tilapia. It was good. Nothing special nothing terrible. Standard. A bit pricy in my opinion considering tilapia is a farm raised affordable fish. The chef was accommodating adhering to my requests for limited butter/oil usage. Highlight of the evening was the pork souvlaki very tender and moist. The chicken souvlaki was honestly a let down as it should be a standard strong contender and mainstay for any greek restaurant. Another highlight of the evening was the baklava, very good and worth trying. The service was friendly but extremely slow at times. It appeared our waiter was also covering the bar to make drinks. Soda refills came once. Water occasionally was brought around by the hostess. All in all a solid 3, however they will have a tough time competing with the Persian Grill or Chicken Kebab in Roslyn. read more

Great food. Great service. My husband and I dropped by for some late lunch with our kids. We each ordered different items from the lunch menu. We had calamari, pork souvlaki, chicken souvlaki, and gyro. The lunch came with soup. I ordered my favorite Greek soup Avgolemono. Everything was delicious. One of the best decisions I've made is popping in here for some lunch today. I wanted to sample a wrap and boy was I happy... I had the Chicken Caesar Wrap with a side of Greek salad instead of the fries. DELICIOUS!!! The salad had a healthy serving of feta cheese, delicious olives and a side of sauce. The wrap itself was absolutely to die for. The chicken was grilled to perfection and honestly I ate it so quickly I didn't even have time to take a photo. I will be back, tomorrow :D!!! read more

Opa Grille has become our go-to place for Greek food. You cannot go wrong here - absolutely everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend the greek caviar dip, octopus app and the chicken with lemon potatoes. If you're really hungry, both the rice pudding and galactobureko are outstanding. Love this place. My best friend's live by here so when I go see them this is one of our favorite places to eat at. It is located in a mini-mall so they have a huge parking lot which is great. The restaurant just got a facelift and it's lovely inside. It gets busy on Friday and Saturday evening but I've never had to wait for a table. They also have a great lunch special that's worth checking out. The white sangria here is SO GOOD - we always get a carafe to share and it never disappoints. If you're not a sangria fan they also offer wine and beer. For starters, I get the lemon soup which is delicious and creamy. They give you complimentary pita which is great. I always get the greek salad with chicken souvlaki - it is so good. Wish I could speak for the other dishes but the salad is great. The chicken is always well seasoned and cooked - never disappoints. Had a surprise 60th birthday for my mom here today and it was so awesome! Our waitress, Meshi (sorry for incorrect spelling) took such amazing care of us. Stopped in today as my boyfriend and I were super hungry. Really nice place! The restaurant didn't have a lot of people in it, but that was okay with us. They gave us a lunch specials menu which had a lot of great choices on it. I opted for the chicken souvlaki over Greek salad with pita. This came with a cup of soup of your choice, I went with lemon chicken. Amazing value for the amount of food that came with it, probably one of the best lunch deals I've seen on LI. Cost around 11.95 for a huge salad with a decent amount of chicken on it with great soup. I thought it was quite delicious and would go back again for sure. The pita was served before as an appetizer with tzatsiki, which was also quite tasty. Loved this place and I hope I see more people in it trying the delicious food. Well we ate at Opa hoping for authentic Greek cuisine. The Gyro was pretty good, not enough white sauce. However the Opa Greek combo was very disappointing. The spinach pie was dry and seemed old as did the Pastochio and moussaka. I didn't eat anything but the spinach out of my pie. The server was excellent, pleasant and responsive that could not make up for my poor tasting unappealing meal. read more

This is our favorite Greek restaurant on Long Island. When we cannot get to Astoria, this is we're we go for our grilled octopus.

Celebrated my mom's birthday here. They were so accommodating- gave us a table in the back- didn't mind the balloons and table decor I brought.
