Warwick, NY - what a fantastic Greek eatery! We dropped in for lunch while doing some activities in town. The restaurant is casual in ambiance but the quality and presentation of the food are more deluxe than I expected. We ordered the five dip sampler which is amazing, and the chicken souvlaki platter was perfect - the cubes of chicken are beautifully seasoned and grilled. Service was warm and friendly. While my child doesn't need it anymore, I appreciated that there's a cute and cozy baby changing station in the (clean) bathroom which you don't see in many small family restaurants. Stopped in for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the food! I had a burger on a pita (they accommodated my request since I can't have Brioche) with French fries. The fries were seasoned, tasted like thyme, rosemary and fennel. My companion had a bacon cheeseburger on brioche. The burgers were not oily (at all) and everything was super fresh. The garlic spread should be called garlic butter. Service was good. There is plenty of seating, ambiance was good. Will come back to try other items on the menu. read more

What a gem! Ended up here by chance on a Saturday evening and glad I did. It's a very casual spot but the service is wonderful and the food is great quality. It's clearly a very popular restaurant because all of the tables were full when we entered and there was a seemingly endless number of people coming in for takeout. Despite all that, we were seated rather quickly. The food took a bit of time to come out but I didn't mind waiting given the high quality. I stuck to something simple: a chicken souvlaki pita. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the tzatziki sauce super flavorful. My friends were all happy with their meals and we finished off with some dessert: bread pudding and rice pudding. Small local Greek place in Warwick that we stumbled upon after apple picking. Few tables on the inside and some outdoor seating. We tried the classic gyro and leg of lamb platter with lemon potatoes. Gyro was classic with a good portion of meat. The leg of lamb was tender and not too gamey. The potatoes were nice and lemony. Service was quick. They don't service any alcohol, just soft drinks. Very disappointing if you want an evening out. I'm 77 and had to walk a long uphill block to get there from a parking spot on the street, only to find there was no seating and a 40 minute wait. The place is just too darned small and so is the parking lot. My daughter loves it there, so I went there for her b/c she's very particular about what food she likes. Finally found a place that was open before noon! Worked out well for me since I've been craving Mediterranean food lately We ordered the classic gyro platter with rice and it was filling enough I had to take home half of it. I found our server comical because he didn't seem like he wanted to be working there but still put in the minimal effort to deserve a great tip. For example I keep forgetting how to properly pronounce gyro so I asked him how it's pronounced, and his response was "I don't even know myself" I love that he kept it real and I chuckled internally. He also had the foresight to ask if we wanted to eat our rice with a spoon - how could he have known?? I don't know any other culture that uses spoon to eat rice but my own! And lastly, he owned up to his mistake when he accidentally threw out the gyro we packed to go so they made a fresh one for us to take home. Place is clean and family friendly. We have been coming to this restaurant for years with consistently good food and reasonable service. Today the spanakopita was served rather cold inside but we did not not to say anything because the waiter was not around at the time. When we went to pay for our dinner, the waitress told us that we're very disrespectful every time we come in. That was completely unacceptable and untrue. Today, I enjoyed delectable greek food at the Opa Grill! The parking area is not too big meaning there are maybe less than 30 spaces. However, a majority of cars usually go in and out frequently, so you'll manage to find a spot. There is outdoor seating with a few tables right outside their store front. Inside is a bit tight, but there are a few tables for some indoor seating as well. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. It has simple modern decorations of portraits of Greece/other memorabilia which contribute to the classic Summer Greece Vacation vibes. Ambience rate 8/10. My boyfriend and I ordered.... 1. Tzatziki Dip w/Pita Bread: The tzatziki was flavorful. Rate 8/10. 2. Opa Fries: This dish tasted really yummy and had a good amount of fries and gyro meat. Rating 9/10. 3. Falafel Appetizer: Their falafels tasted amazing, it was perfectly crispy and had a nice spicy kick to it. They give 5 pieces which is a fair amount since they kept me full. I subbed the Tahini/Tzatziki sauces for the Taramosalata/Greek Caviar dip (at no extra charge which was nice), and it was incredibly flavorful and definitely my favorite Greek dip. The falafels and dip are both rated a 10/10. 4. Ultimate Opa Burger: The burger was very tasty and extremely filling. I asked for it to be medium but they made it well done, which was a downside. I do wish they added more feta cheese because I felt that was lacking. Rate 8/10. The prices are very fair considering how impeccable the food tastes and the amount they give you. The staff were very friendly and the service went by relatively fast. Service rate 10/10. Overall, I would 100% recommend that everyone should try the Opa Grill if they're in/near the area. The food and service here is really great. All the employees have been so friendly every time I go. Con: I only took one star off because when I have gone the music inside is SO loud, I will rarely sit inside here, I almost always sit on the porch seating. So in the winter I may not come here often. But on warmer days this is my favorite restaurant in warwick so far. Pros: Its affordable, good portions, and the food is DELICIOUS. I've ordered a variety of things here and have always been satisfied! They do have a gluten free pitza option also! The wait staff is attentive and always super friendly, very personable, and they have let me keep my car parked in their lot for hours after I left the restaurant to walk around town, which was nice because usually its a hassle to park for free in warwick. The menu has a lot to choose from but not so much that its overwhelming. My favorite thing here is gyro platter, I try to avoid bread so its nice that with their gyro platter they leave the pita on the side instead of serving it as a wrap. Hubby and I were craving Greek, and had heard about this place a while ago - decided to give it a try, and I'm MAD we waited so long!!! They are in a tiny "strip mall" near a convenience store - but don't let that fool you. I originally thought they were a BYO, but they DO have wine & beer for purchase. For dinner we both had the Gyro Platter (I had it with rice, hubby had his with fries), and it was the BEST! Gyro meat was so flavorful and the Tzatziki was perfect! Opa is definitely in my top four for Warwick restaurants. And there's a lot of quality eating in and around Warwick. I'll tell you why: First: the food is authentic, tasty, fresh, and they have lots of healthy options (and great deserts). I've tried simple Greek salads with amazing dressings, grilled salmon, spinach pie (it's amazing and huge), lemon potatoes, grilled octopus (don't miss it!), and some sides/dips. Everything was really really good. I've both dined in and picked up. Second: everyone there is just so friendly and I think they vibe off the fact that all the diners are thoroughly enjoying their meals. I once went in while I was on crutches and the young woman who took my order insisted on bringing my bag of take away to my car for me. Service! Kindness! Wow!!!! We couldn't be happier to venture out and try Opa! It was our first restaurant we went to w indoor dining since Covid, we felt very safe, tables spread out, and all staff wearing masks. Ordered 4 person platter, falafel platter and 16" pizza. We ordered way too much, but loved all our leftovers! The Greek salad is prob the best I've ever had, their salad dressing was mind blowing ! The 4 person platter is insannnnne, they had to put it on its own table lol.. Came to have lunch here today and Boy O Boy what a GREAT choice. Ordered "The Spartan" which is a pita stuffed with either Chicken,Lamb, or Falafel with fries and feta with side of taziki sauce. I had Falafel and it was out of this world! Their fries are absolutely to die for! Wife had their chicken salad and it looked amazing. Everything was fresh and the wait staff was soo super friendly.
