This is a gem in the neighborhood. Like a good old Italian deli that offers a lot! If you don't want to cook, they have lots prepared food, as well as frozen to take home. It's also like the local meat and fish market. They carry a bunch of Italian brand food items from abroad. They also carry Jane's ice cream and other specialty items. We found this amazing little market on google maps near the AirBnb that we rented while in NY for our son's graduation. We were staying in Greenwood Lakes which is kinda far from any decent grocery stores. When I found this market place I read the reviews on google & they were all pretty decent, so I sent my husband & daughter. When they came back, all they could do was talk about the place & all the fresh meats & seafood they had. My daughter was raving about how the wife who 'especially' went in the back & got her some Italian Crema for our fruit, and then made sure to show them where the Sicilian Virgian Olive Oil was. (My husband's family is Italian) So this made him VERY happy!!! My daughter was super happy because they make their Mozzarella daily. Their prices were also very decent!! Everything was amazing! We stayed very nearby for 4 nights and met Dara on my first day for breakfast sandwiches. Based on living in Los Angeles and the expected cost of quality food, I was blown away. Real good quality. I wouldn't even give this a one star! Early Friday morning 8:30 am on , 6/20/25. I was the only customer in the Store . The small man who isn't really friendly and I've been there before and I've purchased meats and bread etc, so he does know my face and I'm always very nice. In fact he pushes things on you to buy when you're already finished shopping and are cashing out ! They're very expensive. It's the Tiffany's of Warwick and their selection isn't all that, but it seems to be the best around in this area, I gave him my deli meat order. I asked him about Italian rolls he says yes we have them. I said OK he says I don't know why you're looking. Because I didn't see them and I wanted to see the size to see how many I wanted he said we just don't display them. I was like oh OK. A few minutes go by, I'm still looking in the showcase to see what else I want he said I can't sell you. Any rolls just like that ! I said excuse me...OK why ? so he said because we need them for our store made sandwiches... that are made here. I said, but I'm buying cold cuts. I'm going to make sandwiches isn't that justified that I purchased six rolls ? He said well buy a loaf of bread or two...so the big woman who might be his wife who has the purple rooster style hair & orange complexion, said just buy tthe loaves of bread. I looked at both of them and I said that's OK. I'm good and walked out. I will never ever ever step foot in that store again.!! There are so many other Salumeria's I will gladly travel to hell I'll go to ShopRite which I have in the past and it's fine. I just figured because it was early. No one was in the lot. I'd stop by. I didn't even want to give them a star but the gentleman by the seafood station was very nice and welcomed us since it was our first time there and a friend recommended this place. However I would not go back bc I tried to order a penne a la vodka with chicken for my daughter and the cashier asked someone in the kitchen and he just said no. No reason was given or anything. The cashier even looked stunned herself and didn't know what to say to me so she was like ummm he said no. So I said okayyyyyy and walked away. This review is strictly on the sandwiches I get here. I have been here several times for their various heros and I think they are very good. I have had the chicken cutlet, roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes and white balsamic vinegar hero and it is great. As another reviewer pointed out earlier, their hours are sometimes erratic. Inconsistent hours. Numerous times I've driven there, to find a sign at the door saying they're closed for an unspecified reason. Sandwiches are dry, flavorless, and do not use Boars Head meat, as the other review stated. Grocery store meat is a better option. The chicken cutlet I got required me to douse my own olive oil and fixings to make it even remotely edible. The lobster bisque is a rip-off at $10 (the online menu says it's supposed to be $1 less, so don't trust that). A few small smidgens of lobster, with bisque that is overly salty and fishy-tasting. The baked clams and chicken pot pie are good enough. I've been unimpressed with everything else. There's one guy that's always quite pleasant, and another one that's very curt. Basically, everything about this place is inconsistent and often disappointing, and definitely not worth the roulette wheel of "are they open or not?" read more

It really bothers me that I have to write this review, but I feel like maybe it will help them improve. On Thursday, I ordered a tray and a half of finger sandwiches for Sunday at 2pm. My only special request was that there be no pork. Since no pork would be included, I was to get additional quantities of the turkey, eggplant and roast beef sandwiches. I have placed this order on the past and it was flawless which is why we placed it again. When my husband arrived at 1:50pm to pick up the order, they were unable to locate it but it was discovered that it was still being prepared. He spoke to the chef and she confirmed there was no pork in the sandwiches. When he got home and I looked at the trays, the full tray included the Italian sandwiches which were full of salami and pepperoni while the half tray did not. I took the whole tray back and showed them and explained the issue - I asked for no pork. I also explained that I can't have any sandwiches on the tray because they touched the pork. Unfortunately, there didn't have any more dinner rolls so they remade the order as hero sandwiches. They offered to deliver them to me which was very nice, but I waited instead. While I was waiting, another customer inquired with the owner who helped me place the order and was helping me again, about the tray and was going to purchase some or all of the sandwiches returned until I stepped in and explained that I took them home, opened them and they were in the back of my truck. The owner said he didn't know I had opened it. She thanked me and didn't buy them. Turns out I should have looked at the half tray of sandwiches more carefully because they didn't include the 3 types of sandwiches I paid for: no eggplant, only turkey and roast beef. For some reason, we found butcher paper cut into the bottom of the sandwiches. Also on the half tray of finger sandwiches, the turkey had American cheese and the roast beef had Swiss but on the replacement hero tray, the turkey had Swiss and the roast beef had American. The order I placed was too simple and expensive for these types of issues. TLDR: order incorrectly filled, poor attention to detail, quality control and service, very, very busy and the staff is not skilled enough to accommodate the nature and amount of business. The communication and organization of this place is not good. My family and I tried ordering for takeout on the phone and the person we spoke to was not familiar with the menu at all and communicating with them was extremely difficult (just a complete unfamiliarity with the menu on the part of the person taking the order) so we said we will just come in and order to make it easier on them. We drive down there and they tell us it's too late for them to make us food, even though they didn't close for another half hour. Tried to explain the situation and how we tried ordering on the phone but literally couldn't, and they wouldn't understand and provided absolutely no customer service. So we left with no food. This was a special birthday request to pick up dinner from this place so this was disappointing. Our family spends hundreds of $$ here but now will have to be very cautious about coming back again, if we do, because our business doesn't feel very valued. I have read some of the negative reviews here, and it just does t make any sense to me. This deli is run to perfection. Sure, people have an off day here and there. But not enough to warrant some of these negative reviews. Bellvale Market is the "only game in town." I have never had a bad experience here! The hero's are expertly made with the freshest of ingredients. Mozzarella, broccoli rabe, Brussels sprouts..it just goes on and on. Superb. Steve butterflies the freshest shrimp in the area and fries it up for me. Add some awesome coleslaw and I am in heaven! It is almost impossible to find super fresh fish in Orange County. At Bellvale Market, the quality is exceptional. You may pay a few bucks more for what you get, but I am willing to pay because their seafood is the best in the county. I know. I stopped going to this deli two years ago when I found out they weren't using Boars Head Ham on my hero sandwich. There are Boars Head signs all over the place. The workers are wearing Boars Head hats and shirts. The case is filled with Boars Head products. That's why I went there for cold cuts and sandwiches. I inquired about the gold foil wrapped ham that I watched him put in my sandwich. He said " you need to understand... if I put Boars Head cold cuts in the sandwich it would be too expensive!" HE ACTUALLY SAID THAT TO ME! I am here for the quality not the price, I assure you. This past Sunday morning, I decided to give them another try. I called and asked if they had fresh made that morning, Mozzarella. I specifically asked if it had been refrigerated. Mozzarella is different after its refrigerated. It tightens up. That's why good delis make it every morning and leave it on the counter. The man said "OF COURSE WE DO!" I drive over there and the cheese is cold. I question him about it and I was told to "just leave it on the counter" and "we have a lot to do in the morning, we cant make it fresh" WOW! Where am I? Amazing. This place is not for me. The prices are high and service is abysmal. I was lured in tonight with the hopes of getting a freshly made lobster roll. The price was $16.00 which is average. I was expecting a meaty lobster roll similar to what I would get in a restaurant for $20.00. When he showed it to me I was shocked. How he wasn't embarrassed I have no idea. It looked like a sandwich made of the scraps left over from the parts that no one has the time to scrape out of the shell. Even scraps are good but still. The scraps of lobster were spread so thin across the tiny roll. When I questioned the guy at the counter he was aggressive and said "if you don't want it don't take it." Then he proceeded to tell me how much better the scraps were that were on the roll compared to the delicious looking pile of lobster meat displayed in the counter and that he is not giving it away. Ok buddy. The last thing he said to me was that next time I should go to Shoprite and get my own lobster and make my own lobster roll. He does not value his customer base. I was tired of debating him so I just bought it hoping for the best. I also bought 2 lbs. of steamers and he was nice enough to tell me how to make them and he gave me the bay leaves that I needed. For that I gave this place 2 stars. I regret buying the lobster roll. It was so not worth $16.00 and I reinforced the owners poor quality product and service. Next time I'll take the mans advice and get the lobster and the steamers from Shoprite. They literally never disappoint and the workers behind the counter are informative and friendly. read more

This review is specifically directed to fellow patrons with celiac disease. We all know how hard it is to find a truly "gluten free" establishment. Since my family was traveling in circumstances where it was difficult to bring along our own GF safe food, we drove 20 minutes out of our way to come here in the hope that it was GF. While the selection of prepared foods is healthy and delicious and there are a few items that could be potentially be GF if they were prepared more carefully; none of the "GF" items are labeled, it is NOT prepared in a GF environment and the employees lack the proper education regarding GF protocols, so there is an extremely high risk of gluten cross contamination. If you have CD with severe symptoms, it would be best to avoid this place; if you are merely gluten intolerant with mild symptoms, eat at your own risk. read more

Heard from a friend that they had good bolognese sauce so I had to go in and try some. Glad I did. I picked up the sauce and short rib ravioli to accompany them. Authentic home cooked sauce with freshly made ravioli. Delish. Will be back again when I'm too lazy to make my own meal. Looking forward to trying their other dishes.
