If this place was in Brooklyn, it would be the coolest hipster spot around. However, it's in Warwick and Its not trying to be anything other than a good hearted, genuine business. We went for the first time tonight and loved what they offered. You walk inside an actual general store that sells goods and enjoy a meal from their menu or a beer from their cooler. We got the smoked chicken nachos which was a meal for my husband and I. And delicious. There was a live band playing in the back in front of the spice rack. Plenty of room out back for the kids to run and play. The place was cool. It wasn't trying to be cool but it was cool. Good food, wonderful owner and overall a great experience. This place is the best. I'm not aware of any better smokehouse BBQ in the county, and Edenville does their thing while being super friendly and super local. Brisket and ribs are spectacular - tender and flavorful. The brisket's cut thinner than I prefer, but it stays juicy and has the right amount of fat. It's amazing. Ribs are tender and meaty. Amazing place. We were just going to get take out, but the owner talked to us in the parking lot and convinced us to stay. Homey atmosphere, great food, and just a general sense of welcome. After we ate, the owner talked to us about the history of the location and gave us insights into what else to do while we were in the area. Mac and cheese tasted amazing and freshly baked. I live about a mile from this place, and I love it. Great, quirky feel. The food is pretty good, with a surprising selection of things to eat. Friendly staff, Food is priced well- the subs are big and stuffed for about $7-8. They even have live music on many weekends. All that said, let me tell you, when you get food to go, especially breakfast, CHECK YOUR ORDER. I would estimate that at least 50%-60% of the time (and I stop in 2-3 times a month) that my order is not correct. I mean, I pretty much order the same thing every time- scrambled, cheese, bacon, salt and pepper on a lightly toasted everything bagel. I've written my order down and handed it to them. I've explained things slowly and clearly. I've even told them, in a very friendly way that my orders are quite often wrong, so please make sure..... And yet still .... Today, my son went in with our order. to bring home. He gave them my handwritten order. When I opened my sandwich it was an untoasted sesame bagel, over easy egg, bacon, with ketchup. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. So yes, there is a definite disconnect between the deli counter and the cook in the kitchen. At least whoever is cooking in the mornings. But if you don't mind expecting to send it back, or have a "surprise me" attitude to whatever you unwrap, the food IS always pretty good. Or just get a local beer on tap, sit in the big Adirondack chair by the woodstove, or on the cast-iron tractor seat stools, or outside by the smoker and enjoy the day. Being out of towners didn't mean a thing, the staff and owner treated us like locals and made us feel very welcomed.
