Dr. Dahlgren had been semi retired for several years so I was just happy to still get an appointment. Then I find out at the end of last year that he had retired. I don't know when. I found out when I called to make an appointment. It would have been nice to have gotten a notification both times. When the person offered other doctors, I just hesitated. It really bothered me that his patients got dismissed. It's a nice office, things look great and I don't doubt that the quality is top notch, but it's apparent that profits are more important than people. That just made me feel horribly dismissed.

For the first time since third grade, I was able to see clearly without glasses - wow!! We both only need simple reading glasses for reading and close-up work. A few months ago I noticed peripheral blurriness. I immediately saw Dr. Rhode. He discovered that I had a rare pituitary adenoma -- (a tumor on the pituitary gland at the base of the brain was blocking the optic nerve and causing the blurriness). That was scary to hear!!! But the highly successful surgery to remove the tumor was done by two excellent specialists at Froedtert. I was home the next day with vision that cleared rapidly...no pain at any point and no visual evidence that I'd had any surgery! We can't say enough about the knowledge and professionalism of the doctors and the entire staff. And their BRAND NEW facility in West Allis is beautiful and well located. The waiting area isn't big enough, there are often sick people waiting, and they overbook so I often have to wait. I don't like their billing system, I feel like they don't work hard enough to get money from my tightwad insurance company, but maybe that's the fault of my insurance. I'm not sure. The third thing is they just can't seem to make use of 21st century technology, they can't email, text, use Google Calendar. They insist on phone calls, voice mail, and faxes. I know they hide behind some excuse about HIPPA, but they are misinterpreting some old regulations from last century.

This last…read moretime I paid $800 cash for one pair of progressive glasses that first he got the reader prescription wrong, and the middle progressive was wrong, the third time I said just give me bifocals I couldn't take it. They couldn't get anything right. When I asked to keep the original lenses in case I couldn't get used to bifocals the tech wouldn't let me. I had had it by then with this new service. I told her you just lost my business then. My family has been a customer for over 30 years. She just shrugged and didn't care. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. What a shame. Now I have an $800 pair of readers basically because they couldn't never get anything right wherever they make their lense.

I waited another month to pick them up and when I tried them on I could not read out of them at all. She tried giving me the 1st pair back and went on and on about how she couldn't believe I could see out of the other ones. She made me fell like I was lying! I did not take the 1st pair back because there was a scratch in the left lens that was not there before. She said that I would have to wait to hear from the owner and that he was in Michigan closing down some shops up there and that it might be up to three more weeks to hear from him. Well another month went by, there still open but no response from no one. So I put a complaint in to the BBB. It has been three weeks and no answer from them either. I doubt I will get my hard errand money back because their policy is no cash refunds. I started to read the reviews for them and came across one that was pretty much like my experience, SO BRYER BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!
