Easy to schedule, and my daughter loved her glasses. Prices were reasonable. Patient provider.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Rhode at Eye Care Specialists for many years. Dr. Rhode…read moredid our cataract surgeries several years ago and our vision improved greatly. For the first time since third grade, I was able to see clearly without glasses - wow!! We both only need simple reading glasses for reading and close-up work. A few months ago I noticed peripheral blurriness. I immediately saw Dr. Rhode. He discovered that I had a rare pituitary adenoma -- (a tumor on the pituitary gland at the base of the brain was blocking the optic nerve and causing the blurriness). That was scary to hear!!! But the highly successful surgery to remove the tumor was done by two excellent specialists at Froedtert. I was home the next day with vision that cleared rapidly...no pain at any point and no visual evidence that I'd had any surgery! We can't say enough about the knowledge and professionalism of the doctors and the entire staff. And their BRAND NEW facility in West Allis is beautiful and well located. I wish I could give them more red stars! **********

The waiting area isn't big enough, there are often sick people waiting, and they overbook so I often have to wait. I don't like their billing system, I feel like they don't work hard enough to get money from my tightwad insurance company, but maybe that's the fault of my insurance. I'm not sure. The third thing is they just can't seem to make use of 21st century technology, they can't email, text, use Google Calendar. They insist on phone calls, voice mail, and faxes. I know they hide behind some excuse about HIPPA, but they are misinterpreting some old regulations from last century.

The ladies working the front were all very busy but took the time to make sure I was acknowledged & got me started on paperwork. My appointment was at 4:15, but I wasn't seen until about 4:30 due to them running a little behind. The woman at the desk kept me informed so I was able to get a head start on picking out glasses. As soon as someone was available I was called to do the 'pre-test' part before seeing the Optometrist. Shortly after, Dr. Lackzowski (sp?) called me in and did a very thorough, yet quick eye exam. He took more time than other eye doctor's that I've been to, and made proper adjustments. After I was done, I only needed a few minutes to find glasses since I already browsed. The sales lady really broke down the pricing to get me the best deal. Looking forward to picking up my glasses soon.

I was checked into my appointment quickly and was seen timely. I also felt they did a great job with answering questions and explaining different options. Nothing but State of the Art equipment being use here which, let me tell you, it's about darn time to find a place that is not in the dark ages of Optometry!! They have such a great selection of frames that will fit any budget. Brand name such as Ray Ban, Juicy, Nike, Coach..... Really Stylish designs along with some Traditional designs as well. Nice selection for the kids, plenty of options for lens as well as contacts. I was Very Impressed!! My eye doctor was super cool, takes time to explain everything and even will take time to answer questions.....Imagine That!!!! The only thing that seemed to be missing was a Coffee station. Lol. Also, they have a Great turn around time to get your glasses/contacts and their price beat out Americans Best in Contact category. Great Atmosphere, Great Service, Great location ( Hwy 100 behind Animal Hospital ) Great Selection, Clean, Professional...... I'm so happy to have found my New Vision provider!! Check them out, you won't be disappointed!!

I was a patient of Dr. Dahlgren's who had an office in West Allis for almost 25 years. I was not notified when they moved their office to Greenfield. Fine. I had no problem driving to Greenfield. Dr. Dahlgren had been semi retired for several years so I was just happy to still get an appointment. Then I find out at the end of last year that he had retired. I don't know when. I found out when I called to make an appointment. It would have been nice to have gotten a notification both times. When the person offered other doctors, I just hesitated. It really bothered me that his patients got dismissed. It's a nice office, things look great and I don't doubt that the quality is top notch, but it's apparent that profits are more important than people. That just made me feel horribly dismissed.

Paid my $35 copay only to be seen by an Optomotrist. My wife specifically asked for an Opthamologist and explained what was going on when she made the appt. The Optomotrist told me it was not a stye but rather a chilazion (which is a stye away from the eyelash) but I should come back to see an Opthomologist. She also told me to stop the stye drops and warm compresses as they do no good with chilazions. They have one that specializes in eyelid issues. Made appt to come back on Jan 7th as he was off through the holidays. Went back on Jan 7, paid my copay again, that is now $50 as of the 1st. He called it a stye. When I told him what I was told by his office in Dec he said they are the same thing. Asked if I was doind warm compresses, told him his office told me to stop. He said he is a big believer in warm compresses and should be doing that. Told him it has been 2 months now, he said he could drain it, but that is difficult and painful. He also said he could inject it with some meds that might help, but they don't have any right now. The third option is warm compresses. I asked what he recommended and he said they are all about 50 % effective so it really doesn't matter. Needless to say, I left without any real conclusions. Never go back there again!!!

I see Dr. Rajurkar, who is excellent in terms of skill, training, expertise, bedside manner and all things you need in a specialist. I have great confidence in Rajurkar because he is clearly up on research and technique. I vetted. Not going to have just anyone poking around in my eyeballs with a laser beam. Still, it would actually be hard to find a poorly qualified ophthalmologist, they do have to graduate from medical school and successfully finish a rigorous residency. The difference in specialty medical clinics is the front line staff. Ophthalmology Associates has a mixed bag in this department. I really like the reception/front desk people at the south side location, they are excellent. The phone bank people who do the scheduling (they seem to be working from the West National number but maybe all numbers ring somewhere else for scheduling) are less than satisfactory. The physician had to reschedule, and the office has apparently never heard of email. I got an annoying letter blaming me for them not being able to reach me so I had to call back during their business hours "TO RESCHEDULE." I'm stressing this because they highlighted that we "need to reschedule (my) appointment" in the letter. Like me, they don't always answer the phone, when I was finally able to get through I got the most annoying woman. She immediately decided we were on a first name basis (though she couldn't pronounce Rohan), talked over me without listening, and scolded me for not answering my phone when they tried calling. No phone manners whatsoever. Very hypocritical. I tried to explain that during the COVID-19 shut down, many of us are working in front of computers and can't answer our phones the minute they ring, and when she demanded another number I had to explain that again. She asked again for a phone number I can be contacted at, meaning a number I will immediately answer. Hey, can I call your boss at his number and have him pick up right away? Big assumption that no patients work, or at least, patient's jobs aren't important. That's how I pay my bills and like any good ophthalmology practice, this place isn't cheap. I asked to be contacted by email, and in a condescending voice she told me that is not possible. How is that not possible? Doesn't give one much confidence in the clinic's use of the latest technology, now does it? My primary care nurse practitioner can use email and I can schedule conveniently online. It's not brain surgery. Remember the highlighted "we need to reschedule your appointment" after the "our office has attempted to contact you by phone several times" letter? I know, it's been a long rant. After all of this she tells me since they don't know when the ophthalmologist will be able to return, they can't schedule a make up appointment for me (didn't bother to ask if I needed to see anyone sooner, there are at least 6 other eye specialists there) and hey, how about leading with this lady? She made it very clear my time is just not important to her. If I recall correctly, a phrase we used to use back in the mid 20th century was, "When would be convenient to call back?" If they are going to insist on sticking with 1960s communication technology, I think they should maintain 1960s telephone manners.
