My car's roadside assistance program had paired mewith 3 different towing companies before Road Wrecker; all made me wait almost an hour each before cancelling because they didn't have the right equipment. When Road Runner Wrecker finally arrived, they hadn't brought the right truck, but they sympathized with my experience (I had been waiting 4 hours for other companies to arrive by this point!) so they went above and beyond by swapping for the correct truck. The driver, Sterling, was a consummate professional. First, he took the initiative to see if he could get my car to restart on its own (he is a trained mechanic). When that didn't work and it came time to tow my truck, he was patient and extremely conscientious in a very tight area with limited space to navigate. He adjusted (and adjusted again) until he was certain he could clear each space with no damage. Throughout this endeavor, Sterling was kind, friendly, and patient. He put in long hours retrieving the right truck, evaluating my car, hooking my car up to the tow, getting the car out, and getting it to my dealership (it was very late at night when he was able to arrive there). All in all, I had a wonderful experience with Sterling and this company.

I called and asked about pricing. The cost (whether jump start or battery) was reasonable. Mr. Ayala said he'd pick up the battery on the way just in case - having gotten the information I had on hand for my make and model, and my equipment preference if it came to that. He also said that I wouldn't be charged for the battery if it wasn't needed - regardless of him making this outlay. As promised, he showed up about 45 minutes after our call - this is with him driving up to Baltimore. When he arrived, Mr. Ayala looked at the battery, said it was 2 years old, no corrosion - relatively young for the equipment. That it probably would be just a jump start (I had left the car sitting for too long). He then promptly walked me through the steps to jump it, while attaching the cords to the outlets. The car started. Then he had me turn it off without the cords attached to check that it still started, which it did. The service was $85. Perfectly reasonable. Convenient and timely, as well, and I found him to be pleasant and knowledgeable.

The staff at Dad's Towing were extremely rude, condescending, and hostile. Treated me like a criminal while I was still nursing injuries from the crash. Nursing whiplash and bruises while talking to a lady who more or less refused to help me. Had to get a friend to take me to their tow yard to retrieve my vehicle to make sure they wouldn't add any more exorbitant charges or something else nefarious while I was supposed to be recovering from injuries. Short, snippy, accusatory, and overall extremely unpleasant. Been a long time since I've been treated with such abject disdain. Having someone crash into you and total your car is extremely stressful and Dad's Towing will make it even more stressful by treating you like scum. I will be making formal complaints to Metro PD for towing my car here and to anyone else I can think.
