Visited a friend in Moreno Vally and saw this ONO HAWAIIAN restaurant . My wife had been telling me about this, and she said we don't have this in San Diego, but a different Hawaiian bbq. Of course I had to stop and get what she likes, or it would be a never-ending bugging me about it. Inside is spacious and they also have outdoor seating. My wife just wants to try it so I ordered just the HAWAIIAN BBQ MIX and we shared it, the Bbq mix has Kalbi Short Ribs, bbq Chicken, , bbq beef , Macaroni salad, and Rice. Typical setup of any Hawaiian bbq place but here the Kalbi Short Ribs are still decent size like big and meaty . We are also tried their Guava Pies , it was also a good one . Pretty good Ono location. They have ordering through a self service kiosk which was nice. Food came out in about 10 minutes or so, we got spam musubi and a beef and chicken combo plate . The spam musubi was really good! Fried to perfection and flavorful. As for the plate it was overall pretty good. The Mac salad is always a must and the chicken was good as well. I found that the beef wasn't as good as other Ono locations. We received a little less than usual and the pieces were small too. Just felt like something was missing in terms of flavor, which is disappointing since the beef is my favorite here. I have to give props to this location for a few things: 1) I ordered 3 family meals to be ready 30 minutes into opening with less than 24 hours notice. That's a lot of food to demand so early into a shift. I appreciate this accommodation, considering I come from a past career in food service- It's not fun when out the gate, your morning is a hustle. 2) The order online process for pick up is easy and secure. 3) The food tasted great and everyone enjoyed it. The food was fine, The girl taking orders was sweet and everything overall was fine, but it was just an uncomfortable environment. The men working on shift around 7:30 pm in the kitchen were staring directly at my boobs and even went out of their way to peak their head out to see when I had left the store. I worked right in the front and I looked them straight in the eyes a couple of times. I wanted to say something but I didn't have the energy. I was pretty excited since they currently had a $5 for Grilled Mahi Mahi and Fried White Fish. I opted for the Grilled Mahi Mahi with Lemon Pepper and I got extra Macaroni Salad. All for $5.00? WHAT A GREAT DEAL. Too bad my meal came with a hair on one of my Mahi Mahi pieces. I didn't notice it until I already ate the entire other piece and some cabbage underneath. I was halfway eating that piece when I noticed the little curled up hair. Disgusted, I was done eating to say the least. Overall, the worker at the cashier was so kind, so I'll give her two stars for customer service... but wow, please make your workers wear hair nets or SOMETHING to prevent hair from being in your food. read more

ONO is one of my favorite places to stop and eat on road trips because I know that I am typically going to get value for my dollar... BUT THIS LOCATION IS GETTING 1 STAR (WOULD BE ZERO IF POSSIBLE) BECAUSE OF THEIR BATHROOM POLICY. There is nothing in the National, State, County or City health order restricting the use of restrooms in establishments open for business under the COVID guidlines. (Expressed or implied) I've looked, can't find it. Can't find one case in media of COVID being transmitted by washing hands or any other legitimate activity that takes place in public restrooms! If it were there explain why STARBUCKS and WALMART provide facilities to their customers. Your failure to let your customers use the restroom is 100% LAZINESS ON THE PART OF THE FRANCHISEE. You are not saving enough by NOT cleaning your restrooms to make up for the business you will loose over this one decision. Instead of bragging with the Wingstop employee that was hanging out in the lobby getting free food about how you now make 20$ an hour, you should make sure the plates have the correct meat! Went to this Ono when we first moved here to Moreno Valley 3 years ago and the rice was dried/ didn't taste fresh.. Decided to try again since it's close by the house & we ordered spam musubi since we thought you can't get spam musubi wrong. Well I was wrong. We ordered 10 orders so 20 pieces all together...all the spam were dry/ burnt. The rice was really dry again.. It wasn't soft .. I just thought it was mine that was dried, but no it was all of them. Ordered family dinner online, I should have checked my large order but was very hopeful that my order was correct. They had a lot of workers for a Friday night. Take out is NOT cheap food, so they should be able to get the orders right. They left out the BBQ beef. So I give them a call and of course they want you to go back, UGH!!! Really?? That's your solution?? Drive all the way back and eat luke warm food bcuz of "their" mistake. If you eat here I highly suggest to check your food. I will not be back. read more
