My boss and I often play the "where's the Only Burger truck" game for lunch; it has almost become an inside joke. I got a bacon cheeseburger and I thought it was just a teeny bit overrated. The meat was nice and juicy and the bacon was flavorful and thick....but it just seemed like a standard burger. Nothing too especial. I'd definitely go again and try their other options, but I think a Five Guys burger would be equally satisfying and cheaper also. read more

Burgers are huge. The best onions rings I have every had. The sauce with the onion rings are worth the visit. I had the "Carolina Burger" and it has cole slaw american cheese and chili. I will try the Pimento cheese burger the next time I visit. I wish there was more tables inside and outside the place. read more

I love a good hamburger from time to time, and Only Burger might honestly be the best I have had in the area. You can get just about anything you want on the burger (fried green tomatoes or coleslaw are two of my favorites) and everything taste fresh and homemade. Every time I have been I have ended up ordering something different, which is a good problem. I also like that they have cane sugar sodas as well as local beer. The restaurant in itself is fairly small, but if the weather is nice they do have a patio. Both the chili cheese fries and the onion rings are must gets, although you might not want to get them both at the same time. read more

Cool concept, poor execution. Better rolls and fries would bump this rating to a 4 star as the burger was pretty good. The rolls can't hold up to the greasy burger (causing structural failure when attempting to eat it) and the fries (something between shoestring and regular fries) are overcooked and dry. I was looking forward to trying this place bc of the reviews, but once I got there I was already disappointed. The place had maybe 4 tables for people to sit, so we had to sit outside while it was raining. On top of that they screwed up my order which is usually ok, as long as they fix it, but when I told the woman nicely "I asked for no tomatoes and ketchup" she replies "is there ketchup and tomato on that burger? I don't see it" wow, learn some communication skills and admit you screwed up. I will never go back, the fries suck too. read more

Only Burger Durham. This place used to be the best burger around, but it has definitely slipped from its former glory. The restaurant is small inside with tables crammed in on a bar area and a few booths. Once you get into the booth on the end next to the grill its nearly impossible to get out. Its also impossible to move in this place. Its tight and cramped. There is not much room to order either. You walk in to a counter to order with no room at all. They only have 1 restroom, so it stays busy. The menu is hard to figure out. I had the Carolina burger, small fries and a small drink. It was $15!! I navigated the tiny maze and found a seat. A few minutes later my burger came out.. It certainly looked the part, but sadly it is still bland tasteless meat with no seasoning, and this time it wasnt even cooked all the way. In fact it was mostly raw! Just nasty. The bun was soaked with runoff from the slaw, and the whole thing just turned into a huge pile of goo before my very eyes!! They used to have cackalackey sauce here for the fries. Now they have the bottle with some other brown stuff in it. I liked cackalackey, and I missed that little treat. The burger. Grilled bun was ok, though nothing great. The toppings were spilling off all over the place. The burger didnt have the same taste that it used to. It lacked that fresh rich taste. This burger had no seasoning, and was bland like cheap grocery store meat. Fast food burgers taste better than this pile of sludge. The fries were OK, yet very thin, and after the burger just didnt do anything for me. All in all the LAST 2 VISITS were nothing but a letdown. I had hoped that they would improve. The staff is better, but the burger is way over priced, and definitely not worth it. Get the good burger meat back, and put some salt and pepper on it. After all the hype surrounding Only Burger, I was extremely disappointed. I went to Only Burger one afternoon when I feeling very, very hungry. So hungry, that you'd expect anything to taste good. Because it was later in the afternoon, there were only two other customers in the place and they already had received their orders. I placed my order and proceeded to wait for an extremely long time while the four cooks in the kitchen joked around. By the time I got my burger, the Burger King-quality bun was soggy. This place is amazing - my husband and I agreed that it was one of the best burgers we've had, and we are both very picky about our burgers. The meat was incredibly high quality, tender and flavorful, and cooked perfectly, exactly the way we ordered it. The toppings were exquisite - I had the fried green tomato burger with a fried egg and pimiento cheese and it was completely fantastic (and normally I don't even like pimiento that much). Even the grilled cheese was great - my kids fought over it. We ordered fries, which were excellent, and they also had a nice selection of other sides. The burgers are good, but you better hope they get your to-go order right. I ordered a turkey burger to-go, which, when I got where I was going and bit into the burger, realized it didn't have the guacamole, for which I paid extra. The next day, I took my receipt and a photo of the burger back to The restaurant and asked them to give me the burger I paid for. The manager (maybe owner) said since the burger was not inedible they wouldn't replace it, and that she would only give me the guacamole that they forgot, emphasizing that she should not have to pay for the mistake. So, when I learned that they were going to be at a location close by, I was psyched to give it a run. Like a lot of the other reviews here, I'd say the burger was ok...nothing special but a step up from Wendy's. I thought the prices were high - nearly $10 for a combo. After eating it, I decided it was a cool experience, but the food did not warrant another run. Then, about two hours later, I got hit with a killer case of food poisoning...from the fries. I have mixed feelings about this place. The burgers are made with quality meat. Their veggie burger is good. Price is reasonable given the overall quality. Atmosphere relaxed. Great for kids. Now for my complaints: flimsy buns that fall apart, greasy, soggy fries and too many errors in the taking of orders. The biggest beef: they cannot or will not cook a well-done burger! We prefer our burgers cooked through and through and it seems no matter how many times or ways we ask for it, it's always just a little too pink-ish. So, last summer we invested in a new grill, and haven't hit Only Burger as much as we used to, but it still works if you want a quick bite with friends and your house is a mess so you can't invite them over. read more

This is a review for the brick and mortar store. This is my favorite burger place in the Triangle area. Their burgers are fresh and juicy and they are constantly adding new sides to their menu (see bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers and bacon-wrapped mac n' cheese squares). The fries are crispy and delicious, and they have a fine selection of NC beers. I tried this place because it's close to home and work. My coworkers had showed up to work with grease stained bags saying they'd came from here, but I honestly hadn't ever thought of going myself until I got an itch for a burger one night as I passed by. First off, you can definitely feel the food truck roots. It still feels like food truck eats even though it comes from a kitchen, which is not always the case when trucks go brick-and-mortar. The burgers are creative and delicious, I'm personally partial to "The Greek". Fries are greasy in that awesome "bag fries" kind of way, and well seasoned. Also if you're into bottled beverages they have a decent selection of sodas, Calypso lemonades, and some local beers as well. Definitely one of my favorite place to go for some great tasting comfort food. The burgers are always well cooked. The head chef (kinda weird to say when you think of a burger joint) takes the food they serve very seriously. He does a great job of quality control and makes sure everyone feels that he really cares about their dining experience. My all time favorite is the Carolina burger and my wife, who hated burgers before only burger, can't seem to get enough of the breakfast burger. Wow! First time tonight. I calledin my order and the burgers wereready almost immediately. They waited to 'drop' the sides until I got there-which was fine. It meant they were fresh. I was underwhelmed. Burger was mediocre and dripping in grease. I was hoping it was a fluke, so we went back. Same thing. I like a greasy burger, but that can't be it's only defining quality. They have some interesting burger specials but I haven't tried them. If I was to rank burgers I would put them slightly below Five Guys (also not a fan). If you want a really good burger, I would go to Andy's. Nice to have a local burger joint around!! The interior is simple, but they have free wifi. Disclosure: I don't eat beef, but my boyfriend likes their burgers. Can seem expensive for fast food, but prices in line with other fast casual burger places (eg Five Guys) . Also offers great steak fries and a pretty good veggie burger. read more
