Burger and fries - $20
Kong L.

The atmosphere here is great--low-key and very inviting. Unfortunately, the dining experience didn't match the vibe. Despite the nice presentation, my burger fell short of expectations. It took a while to arrive, and when it did, the fries were cold and heavily salted, while the burger was only lukewarm. I ordered the patty medium, but it was served well-done. At a $20 price point, I expected much better quality and execution.

I looked at Google Maps to find a place we could walk to from the DPAC as we wanted to park for a show, walk to dinner, and then walk back to the DPAC to enjoy the show. Queeny's checked all the boxes!! We enjoyed great craft beers and amazing burgers. I like that you order at the bar and then they bring the food to the table. I loved the whole vibe of the place. The bartenders were nice, the place was clean, and the food and drinks were delicious. I'd definitely go back, even if I wasn't going to the DPAC.

Stopped by on a Friday around noon. Vibes were good and the staff were friendly. My friend and I got the chicken tenders and the mt. Airy sandwich. The tenders were really good but I didn't care much for the sandwich. Would definitely come back if I was in the area again!

Great customer service! The staff are very friendly. I asked for a recommendation and they asked me questions to narrow their recommendation down. The Halloween Decorations were great. The background music was at the perfect volume. Loud enough to hear, but low enough to converse. The Braised Short Rib Sandwich w/ Brussel Sprout Slaw was the staff recommendation. The short rib was juicy and tender. The slaw added an earthy element to the sandwich. RECOMMENDATION: serving this sandwich with an au jus would add a savory element to the sandwich

Stopped by for lunch on a Friday afternoon. There was a decent sized amount of people eating inside and outside. We tried the tenders and chicken salad sandwich, both were very good. You order at the bar and they bring you your food. Prices were reasonable. Would return again when in the area.

What a fun place before a show at The Carolina Theater. Quick and delicious. Chicken was excellent and the bite of the burger I had was outstanding. Solid Pimm's Cup. Order at the bar much like a British pub. The server who took our order was knowledgeable and sweet with lots of patience for first timers. I don't get to Durham a lot these days but would definitely return.

SOLID burger joint in Durham. Got the cheeseburger (1/2 pound chuck and short rib, American cheese, chipotle mayo, lettuce, onions, butter pickles) with bacon. The burger patty was thick, but it was cooked to perfection (minimal pink) and was super juicy. The brioche bun was soft and lightly toasted. Only knock was they "forgot" one of our five burgers. It was not brought out for over 30 minutes after everyone got their burgers- and they gave us one free drink (think a round for the table would've been more appropriate, or a credit for the burger). Will definitely return here again though for a burger.

I love a spot that is open late night, has good food, drinks and vibes. Queeny's has all of the above. I appreciated that the menu is pretty straight forward and there are plenty of vegetarian options. The falafel pita was pretty good. It was a decent size and flavorful. My friend enjoyed the birria dip sandwich. The local craft beers on draft were good. They also have a solid line up of cocktails and a standard wine list. I love the ambiance in there. The Polaroids at the bar are so cute. There's plenty of seating in the main area as well as in the back room and the patio. The music was good. I'd definitely go back

We really like the vibe of this place. I got a cider that wasn't my favorite but I'm looking forward to go back and try something else. The food we got was good. I got the vegetarian nachos and was pretty pleased.

Awesome ambiance, super friendly workers and the burger and fries were delish! Burger was a little over medium but super juicy and full of flavor. Fries were crisp and crunchy.

Eclectic and hipster is how I would describe Queeny's in downtown Durham. It's a few blocks from D-PAC, Durham Bulls Athletic Park and American Tobacco Campus. My son and I stopped in the other day to grab an early dinner prior to going to the Durham Bulls (Rays affiliate) - Scranton Railriders (Yankees affiliate) game. The atmosphere is pretty good as is ok, nothing special. The service was quick. You order at the bar and seat yourself. We both went with the cheeseburger and also got an order of nachos. Everything came out together. Maybe the kitchen forgot to prep the nachos first. The burgers were okay, nothing special. The buns were fairly large though. Like I said the food was fine and it is a cool place to stop in for a drink or a quick bite to eat. If Yelp had a sliding scale I'd give it a 3.5 - 3.75 rating. There's plenty of parking options nearby.

A great place with so much seating, good food, and drinks. The staff is amazing and so attentive. The vibes here are amazing - we didn't get the food but everyone seemed to be enjoying it.

I've been to Queeny's twice, both times for lunch, and gosh, I just love it there! The food is great, but my favorite thing about the restaurant is the atmosphere. I grew up in Durham and spent most of my adult life living in the city, and it's hard for me to imagine a restaurant feeling more "Durham" than Queeny's has managed to do. It's super relaxed, inviting, comfortable, hip but not pretentious, and community-focused. There has clearly been a lot of thought put into every detail, including comfy booths, a reading room for children; clean, eco-minded, gender-neutral restrooms; and a free podcast recording space that is available to any local who signs up for a slot. As for the food, I've enjoyed everything I've tried. Their burger and fries are a really solid choice, as is the chicken salad sandwich (it does have a lot of mayo so if that isn't your thing, you may want to try something else on the menu). And I love their fried pickle spears - the breading is super crunchy and delicious. Service has always been friendly and helpful.

Purposely blurred menu photo. Not sure they are okay with me putting them out there like that. But, I think it's very artsy and cool.

I was hoping I would not be disappointed. Downtown Durham on Parrish Street I do believe. I went there midday and there was a sparse lunch crowd already seated when I arrived. The warmly lit space presents nice aesthetic as you walk into the restaurant. A very chill and comfortable atmosphere. I love the bar and the mirrored wall nestled behind it. The spot is pretty laidback and very clean, but has a bit of a rustic nuance to it as well. I like that. The serving staff were extremely nice and helpful towards advising me in making my selection -- with me being a first-timer and all. I kept it simple...I chose the Classic Burger (pink) with pepper jack cheese, bacon marmalade, and as a side, I had to go with the Dirty Fries -- 'cause that's how I roll y'all. About the food: I have to say, the burger was staunchly built and crafted with artistry. Nice and tall with a seriously tasty bun encapsulating everything. Perfectly well-seasoned meat and the first bite was simply delightful. I noticed as I got towards the center of the meat, it was bit less juicy than the surrounding parts of the burger, but nevertheless still tasty. My Dirty Fries were delicious In the end; the experience as a whole was quite delightful and I would definitely like to go there again -- perhaps try a different burger to expand upon my experience with this place. Gotta try out That Bar y'all! I do recommend it for those who haven't had a chance to go by there to check it out.

Even before me an my party entered we could hear music playing from the building, which kept the vibes up! Moving onto the food, a certain menu item caught my eye. Something that I'm legally obligated to keep quiet about... but let tell you- this burger was Gooood. This "Signature Secret Burger" was rather unique, as it was like you took a pretty simple egg burger, and just ramped it up. My initial thought when I first tried it was that it was a burger squared, the mystery ingredients amplified the flavor to make such a savory meal. It wasn't to overbearing like many other burger places that I've visited, not immediately making me feel fat and full after taking a few bites. Our party also ordered a whole quart of fries, and they were SO GOOD!!! I'm a sucker for good fries, and you knocked this out of the park! Your fry soft was nice and mellow and complimented the fries perfectly. (And even afterwards, the fries warmed up really well and were still Really freakin' good!) Finally, during my visit, their anniversary event (Happy 15th By The Way ) and they were offering FREE DESSERT for someone who happened to sit in a randomly chosen seat. And by the luck of the gods my little brother found his way onto the seat! It was just really awesome to see a restaurant doing such awesome things for their birthday, y'don't see that every day! Overall, this place is definitely a place to stop by if you're in Durham. If you're in the area visit IMMEDIATELY if you love good fun food!

For the main, I ordered the standard burger despite several limited-edition options being available (ask about the Hamilton theme!). It was cooked precisely to my specified medium, with a flavorful patty and nice structural integrity throughout. The tater tots were basically as good as they come. We paired the meal with IPAs - Dancing with the Bulls and Bull in a Bottle Shop - both of which held up well against the richness of the food and worked particularly well with the burger. I finished the meal off with the amaretto which provided a balanced finish and was reminiscent of my usual espresso martini without being overly boozy or heavy. Service was friendly and professional as always, and the atmosphere remains a strong point: upscale casual without feeling forced.
