Fresh Smoked Lox Breakfast Sandwich

One of the best dinners/bagel shops in Chicago. The bagels by themselves are a reason to go in. They're the perfect amount of a chewy crust to light and fluffy inside, with the toppings being to die for. I tried an onion, everything, and jalapeño cheddar and I loved all three. I highly recommend any of the breakfast bagel sandwiches. My boyfriend got the Avocado Turkey breakfast sandwich (not shown) and I got the Lox breakfast sandwich. The sandwiches are actually filled with food rather than just a few thin slices. My boyfriend and I split the liver plate and it was amazing. I find it hard to find great liver and this place has some! If you like liverwurst you will like this plate. We got it with an onion bagel. We got bagel chips while we waited and sipped on coffee and looking back I wish I grabbed a few extra bagels to go to try more of the variety they had since the assorted chips were so good. The staff was amazing; being warm and welcoming like we had been going there for years. The interior was beautiful and made you feel at home. This is one of those hidden gems anyone around the Chicago area should try, whether you live here or you're just stopping by.

Club sandwich was perfect. Not so fond of the Cole slaw.

Classic bagel/deli place. If a place has been open for more than half a century, you know it's got to be good. You can pretty much get any kind of sandwich you are interested in. I didn't get to try the coffee or bagels, but it all looked top notch. I liked the classic decor with counter service it tables.

We ordered bagels from The Onion Roll and they were fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly chewy with that classic texture you want in a great bagel. Everything tasted super fresh and well made. It is clear they care about quality and take pride in what they serve. A great spot for anyone craving a really good bagel.

Just moved to the area and was super excited to try a new local bagel shop. Been twice now, first time was just a jalapeño cheddar bagel with onion & chive spread, $9.43 - 8/10. Went back yesterday and got the NY bagel sandwich (2 eggs, bacon, American cheese), $18.79 and 7/10. The price is too steep for a just above average sandwich. Would rather support a local business, but not with these prices. The search continues.

OMG! The portion and the quality is so so so good. Our server Maria gave terrific service and smiles. The ambiance is so cozy I could sip coffee and chat here for hours. Our salmon was so fresh and buttery I could not believe the quality and standard of their ingredients. Please give it a try, it pairs beautifully with their cheddar jalapeño bagel.

Jalapeno & cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese

Tried this place for thr first time after looking for a good bagel. This place has 2 separate areas. One is a lively dining area and the other i a takeout deli. The service is very fast and attentive. At the register they have their list of available fresh bagels. I tried the jalapeno and cheddar with chive cream cheese. The bagel was good but didn't have much kick or cheddar flavor. The cream cheese really stood out though. It had a sweet flavor like I never tasted before. It was definitely fresh and home made too. A single bagel at the time of writing this was $2.50 and with cream cheese came to $5.5 with tax. I will come back again to try another bagel and their deli sandwiches.

Is the meat kosher?

Eisenberg is Kosher meat. However, the restaurant is considered Kosher-style; not 100% kosher. In order for a restaurant to be 100% kosher, there must be certification from a Rabbi and there cannot be any cheese or milk products served.

A fantastic breakfast spot!…read more I ordered the iced brown sugar latte ($6.50) and the pumpkin pancakes with meat ($15) off their seasonal menu. The iced brown sugar latte was just the right amount of sweet and super pleasant to drink, and my lactose-intolerant self appreciated that it was made with oat milk. The pancakes were delicious. Soft while being very filling. They were topped with pecans that added a nice crunch and whipped cream. It was served with cinnamon butter on the side, and the butter was great on the pancakes, especially with maple syrup (the restaurant serves real maple syrup, none of that fake corn syrup stuff!). The restaurant has a couple of meat options: 4 strips of regular-cut bacon, 2 strips of thick-cut bacon, turkey bacon, pork sausage, chicken sausage, honey ham, and Canadian bacon. I opted for the thick-cut bacon, and it was tasty, a good combination of fatty & crispy. The service was also great. Our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere, but you could still have a conversation without having to yell.

We had heard about First Watch so once we picked up the rental car we decided to make it our first food stop. The restaurant is located in a shopping center so parking was super easy. As soon as we walked in I noticed how comfortable and family friendly the atmosphere was. At first the setup gave me a little IHOP vibe but once the food came out I immediately took that comparison back! We were a group of four and were seated right away. Our server came over quickly for our drinks and the food came out surprisingly fast. Everything was hot, fresh, flavorful, and seriously delicious. The staff was friendly, the restaurant felt welcoming, and even the bathrooms were clean which is always a plus. Went to the buffet and had tried their shrimp cocktails (not peeled), raw oyster, smoked salmon, mini croissant, pastries, and quiche. The buffet also had crab claws, muffins, fruit, and salad that I didn't have a chance to try as I was getting too full. The smoked salmon was my favorite. The quiche had two types; salmon was salty and the other I think spinach was too egg yolk taste. Both were dense and not light. Oysters were fine and didn't get sick afterwards. For the entree, I originally wanted the lobster toast, but the waiter mentioned it is a small dish. So I choose the Herb crusted white fish, which was really delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly and was juicy. Came with mashed potatoes and spinach. Then, for dessert I had tried the lemon bar and crème brûlée. Both very good. I did see someone else order the crab cake royal, it was a decent size and looked bigger in person than the photo I found on yelp. Would probably try that if I have a chance to come back.

Highly recommended.

I had the red Chilaquiles, hubby ordered the Honey Chicken and Waffles and we also ordered the lemon and blueberries corn hotcakes to share. Every dish was beautifully presented like someone put a lot of thought in making them appetizing. Flavor wise every single one was awesome, either chilaquiles being the weakest one but still good. The chicken and waffles was to die for, sweet enough - no need for maple syrup with tender and crispy large breast portion. The Benedict's were really, really good, but the star was the corn hotcakes. One of them pancakes was the lemon, the other was full of berries.
