This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a financial institution. When this was CBC Federal Credit Union in Thousand Oaks, it felt like a family. Customers were treated with respect, kindness, and genuine care. Unfortunately, after the move to Camarillo, the customer service began going downhill. Many of the employees we knew were gone, and the level of service noticeably declined. Since becoming Ocean Air, our experience has been extremely disappointing. There has been little to no customer service, kindness, or respect. We were required to email our identification multiple times, and on several occasions we were told that our information had been updated--only to find out that it had not been updated at all. We repeatedly had to call and deal with rude and unhelpful employees just to get basic issues resolved. Our experience with Jessica and Brenda was especially unacceptable. We were laughed at by Jessica and feel that Brenda was dishonest with us regarding information we were given. We were specifically told that moving out of state would not create an issue with accessing our money. Unfortunately, that information was completely inaccurate. We were unable to access our funds as promised, which created major problems and unnecessary stress for us. What is perhaps most frustrating is that Ocean Air seemed to have no concern whatsoever about the problems this caused us. We should not have to repeatedly provide identification, make multiple calls, correct information that employees said was already updated, and then be treated disrespectfully when we are simply trying to access our own money. The difference between our experience with CBC Federal Credit Union and Ocean Air Credit Union is incredibly disappointing. What once felt like a credit union that genuinely cared about its members now feels like an organization where customer service and respect have become afterthoughts. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend staying away from Ocean Air Credit Union unless you are comfortable being treated with disrespect, dealing with rude employees, and having to repeatedly fight to get basic issues resolved. Customers deserve better than this.
