Great business! I had some debt from some medical problems on a credit card. They have an informative website with honest clear information of what to expect in those whole process. When I called, I had the pleasure to work with Alex who was very nice and informative. The usual expectation from other people/companies in this business is hours of back of forth of telling them all my information, credit score, blood type, etc. and then every sales tactic in the book to try to persuade me that it is better to work with them; however, Alex was honest and straightforward from the beginning and asked me direct questions about what I was calling about and since I had done some research, let me ask the exact questions I had and he was able to answer that without wasting hours on intake forms. It turns out, I need to figure out some things on my end before the intake and Alex also indicated that there is a slight chance they may not be of too much benefit to work with them, but if I did need to, I can call back and they would be able to help. I truly felt he was on my side trying to actual help me. This is embarrassing, so I'll keep it short. In 2015 I put myself in debt by being stupid and allowing my then wife and I to get as many credit cards as we wanted, and use them. I came to New Era with a ton of credit card debt after having lost my job for nearly a year. After Googling for reviews, I narrowed my choices down to two, which I then called them to feel them out. The first firm was obviously a larger firm and the agent did the hard 5-minute elevator pitch on their depth of experience, etc and immediately started digging into the numbers and what type of debt I had, with which credit card companies, etc. Interestingly though, they said they did not even work with American Express (not that I had any).
