I had broken dryer belt and I requested quotes through Yelp on a Sunday. I included the model and serial number of the dryer when requesting the quote. Freddie replied within 10 minutes which was impressive with a quote of $90 flat fee. Others quoted $250 excluding tax. I went with Freddie due to quote and responsiveness. He came the next day. Unfortunately, he did not have the right size belt and had to order it. It was going to be five days before he would get the belt and I needed the dryer fixed immediately. To expedite the belt, I had to pay $25 extra and the total cost was $275 including expediting. He came back the next day to complete the job. He also cleaned out my dryer vent as well as put tape around and exposed knob that could've shocked me. I appreciated his thoughtfulness. There were 2 things that annoyed me. Firstly, he didn't have the belt on hand the first day, even though I provided the model and serial number. I suppose he, as well as others, would want to verify the issue themselves before ordering a belt. Secondly, the fee was misleading. I thought it was $90 based on the quote. These 2 reasons are why I deducted a star. I had also asked him to take a look at the stove, where one of the burners wasn't working. He was unable to work on it because one of the bolts had stripped, and the others were going to because they were quite rusty. I knew about the stripped bolt already because my husband had tried to work on it himself and ran into the same issue so I didn't expect a miracle. I hired Freddy to fix a dishwasher that was leaking water from the bottom. He performed a diagnostic of the issue, and told me I had a choice: either replacing an entire component of the dishwasher, which would have been very costly and time-consuming (it would have taken 7 days to get the replacement parts); or patching the leaking part.
