In those 90 minutes the first bartender who took our initial order, proceeded to have four shots. We asked a second bartender who put it in again. I'm going to be generous and give 1 star solely for location. We made a reservation approx 2 months ago here, showed up and the hostesses "couldn't find" our reservation. Fine. We waited...and waited ...and waited for almost 2 hours to be seated. One of us was coming from the bathroom and heard the hostesses behind the desk saying "we need to take emails since people like to lie about making reservations here." To which we replied that we did have a reservation, because when we gave our name for our NEW table- our friends name and number popped up in the system, someone just never confirmed her reservation. Regardless, completely unprofessional to talk about your customers as "liars." Now, once we were finally sat, our server was good- she did however forget to ring up a bunch of drinks we ordered, so we got those in the middle of our dinner. The manager came over and offered "free desserts." At this point we didn't even care we just wanted to pay and leave. Now, a couple hours go by, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US was so violently ill from the food. 24 hours of each of us being stuck on a toilet bowl was not how we wanted our Saturday to be spent. We will continue to just go down the road to proving ground, where we won't be talked about or given food poisoning. read more

The staff was friendly, attentive, accommodating, we went for happy hour, very pleased with everything oysters, fancy fries, wings, pork dumplings. Everything that came out of that kitchen looked like a perfect presentation. We were down here for a stroll near the ocean & found this place with pretty good reviews as well as views. When we walked in I was happy to be seated outside by the bay. The interior is put together very nicely. The outside is nice but the electric heaters weren't working and it got cold so we moved inside. We ordered cocktails, I got the jalapeño & tequila drink, it was very good. Glass was a bit dirty had to have it changed, I know that could happen with dish washers. The appetizers started with large shrimp cocktails, fresh and good, the oysters were good, not the best or freshest tasting but still good. They could of been colder. They didn't have horse radish for them, which is a must in our book for oysters. The waitress was polite, however I didn't feel that she knew what to recommend when we asked. She also forgot to come back and take our meal orders after we had our appetizers, but eventually we did, and then we waited. And waited, and waited. (It was only around 3pm on a Saturday). They brought the wrong tables food order to our table 3 times. (I also know that the table next to us got served the wrong entree, but they had been ok with it, but still told the waitress later). The bartender also had to yell to us from across the room, and then had to leave the bar to see how the table next to us wanted their drink served which was funny...but weird. Then we shared a buttermilk chicken sandwich with fries. I do realize that maybe we should have stuck to seafood at a seafood place, but it looked good when we saw it served. It is a dark meat that they fry it in. I wish it was white, and the coating on it is WAY too thick, as well as the sauce. We wouldn't get it again. All in all I feel that this place has ALOT of potential, for the location and the space, but our experience here would most likely not bring us back on purpose. read more

One Willow has usually been our favorite spot for views, cocktails, and dinner... BUT tonight has left us very disappointed. It was a quite Monday evening... no octopus on the menu... and no bread to accompany clams and pasta. Plus you hit us with a "non-cash adjustment" for using a credit card. What's up with that!?! We sat in bar... server did a nice job. However watching the bar-back eat at the bar with his fingers was a huge turnoff... disgusting! Go eat your snack in the kitchen. This was our second visit since we loved it the first time. The waitress was sweet. The view was nice. The food this time... meh. Not great. Crab cake was hard as a rock. And 45.00 for the lobster roll with very little lobster. And to change fries to truffle fries they charged us the full price for each order even though the burgers came with regular fries instead of an upcharge. We aren't cheap but this was ridiculous We took our adult kids out for a family night but were very disappointed. My wife and daughter had the same exact dish but you can tell one is better than the other. Refer to the photos. Captain's Breakfast - 9/10 Pros: Delicious! The garnishing was on point. One of my Favorite spots in the Highlands. Every time I'm near there we go. Located right on the water. Very clean with lovely Decor.. Their seafood is always fresh and on point. They have a great raw bar with a variety of oysters and clams. Never ever had a bad meal here. Tried a lot of things on the menu. The Fish tacos are delicious and the clam pasta is great. They have a great drink menu also. Try the Pain Killer my Favorite !!!! There is a very nice outside patio with an outside bar right on the dock. We go out to dinner very often; I really don't like to give a poor review but a few things really need to be said: Dinner: I ordered the Willow Burger: It was wayyyy over-cooked. The bun was dry/crumbly. Waitress was nowhere to be found so I opted to eat instead of searching the restaurant for her. Fries were decent: $27....Really ? Wife ordered the Clams/spaghetti: Very small portion. Dish was dry/no broth at all with zero flavor: $32. Cocktail: I ordered an Old-Fashion with HOUSE Bourbon: On the bill they charged extra than what was stated on the menu. When I asked the waitress why: "They charge extra for ICE (1 cube) and because it is a cocktail with bourbon they upcharge" So the price on the menu is completely false. Really ?? Of course they also add the additional charge for using a credit card: Total with tax/tip: Approx. $120.00 - for a lousy burger, a mediocre (at best) pasta dish, 1 red wine and 1 cocktail. Ridiculous. Save your money - Go elsewhere. read more

Overall the food here is pretty good - I'd argue better than when I last went a year ago. The bolognese is creamy and flavorful. The calamari comes with fried olives and pickles - it works. The oysters were v good. The swordfish, which I normally don't like, in a Caribbean curry sauce with plaintains was excellent. And you can't argue with the views, if sitting outdoors. The downsides? The staff is a bit stiff, especially the waitstaff. At the outdoor bar they seem frenzied and somewhat impolite. At the table - efficient but stiff (no "Hi my name is...", just straight into "todays specials are.."). This needs work, then it's 4 stars. read more

This place will forever hold a special place in my heart, my boyfriend proposed to me here! The outside area out back is so gorgeous right on the water.. would love to come back here in warmer weather to enjoy that. The smoked salmon dip was out of this world!!! When they brought it out I thought- why is there lettuce to go with this dip- that "lettuce" is actually endive and it allowed us to fully taste the dip with the perfect amount of crunch. The east coast oysters were also yummy! They came already detached from the shell and the lemon was wrapped in cheese cloth which was a nice touch. Beautiful location, great summer spot. We ordered some oysters, Japanese eggplant and calamari as appetizers and all were very good. For dinner I had the salmon, my wife had the scallops and our friends and tuna and the skate. None of us would recommend what we had as the main course. My salmon was a tiny portion and surprisingly bland. Our waitress was terrific and the chocolate cake we had for dessert was very good. I live walking distance from the restaurant and have been there couple of times. The food quality is top notch and they service is also good. The menu may seem pricey, but on the other hand, the ambiance, presentation, and the portions make up for the price. The pictures that I have uploaded speak for themselves, and I attest to the quality and taste. I'm not a very big fan of oysters as they sometimes have an oyestery smell of not fresh. Here the oysters were super fresh and big in size.... bigger than you get at Whole Foods. The crab cake, wings were phenomenal. Overall a five star quality restaurant with excellent food options. Unfortunately for me the food was mediocre for how high the prices are. We had ordered the calamari to start and the peppers were delicious, I love that the out a cloth over the lemon. As for entrees though nothing special. The chicken was cooked well but lacked flavor and rice tasted like it was steamed rice from a bag with frozen peas. I had ordered the gnocchi as well, the roasted tomato's were easily my favorite but the sauce was ordinary. Stopped in for the first time after a lackluster lunch at Bahr's Landing on a Tuesday afternoon. I seated myself at the bar. The bartender was kind, knowledgeable and attentive.
