What you see is what you get. A fun divey bar with cheap drinks, music, and good company!

Welp. This was a motorcycle pit stop after a fun ride. I personally didn't drink or eat anything but huge thumbs up on having a pull table. They bartender was attentive and seemed pretty friendly spot to have a game and a cold one. More like a dive bar which I enjoy just a bit winder with also an outdoor area.

CASH ONLY! Cool little biker bar. Just a local joint with good vibes. Might catch someone famous here. The service is friendly as always and the food is bar food.

Locked door? Is it a private event?

Went in but the door was locked at 1:10am and google maps says they closed the bar at 2am & k hear music and people talking , I don't recommend this bar matter asf close or call the sanitary department to make sure is healthy for other people to check in bar since it's obviously locked ?!

Great place to get some drinks and food. Burgers were great and Linda was an awesome bartender for sure! We enjoyed our time there!

the entrance

My new favorite dive bar. It has almost everything one could ask for from a joint like this. A lady bartender who is welcoming and makes you feel as though you've come home, has a great attitude and doesn't take any shit, great burgers, cold beer, double entendres, the 7am regulars, pool tables with some good shooters and, maybe best of all, Lady Marines. Second only to the Lamplighter in Camarillo and Harold's, the Red Balloon Saloon and Joe's Bar all on Northwestern Highway in Southfield, Michigan. Harold died and the land now holds up an office building filled with the sort of paper pushing characters you'd find in Blade Runner who'd never think to step inside. Harold's sister Virginia ran the joint at night. She was very affectionately know as 'Ginny and "Mom" to all. 9/1/22

Red Rooster - The Rooster Burger with cheese and green chili is a favorite.

Red Rooster sports bar has been serving the community of Oceanside for over 60 years. Even though they recently had a change of ownership, the new owners are also local and they left local management in charge. This effectively means that nothing has changed, and they are still providing some of the best bar, food and ambience, as well as drinks! They just cleaned up the bathrooms and a little bit of the interior decor. When it comes to food, the Red Rooster is known for their famous Rooster Burger. This burger is legendary within the community. I also love their crispy fries that are well seasoned. More recently, they have also added $.69 chicken wings on Wednesdays. This deal is available with the purchase of a beer. They also have cider available as well. Although they have a few basic flavors on their regular chicken wing menu, on Wednesdays, they add a lot more flavors to the special. These sauce, flavors alternate weekly, and it adds a nice variety. Most recently, I enjoyed the teriyaki, the bourbon bbq, honey mustard, general tso and my favorite is the lemon pepper. The interior looks much like a divey sports bar, equipped with one pool table and a few high-table seating available. There is also a backyard seating area with a fire pit, that is also fenced off. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Red Rooster at least once to experience their burger, their chicken wings, and a small piece of historic Oceanside vibes.

My husband and I stopped in to Frankie's on a recent Saturday at 5pm. Our kiddo had a performance down the street at 6pm so we had a little time to kill beforehand. The neighboring spots looked busy so we decided to go with Frankie's, seeing as they were less inundated at the time and we had a time constraint. Another allure was the sandwich board at the front door advertising discounted cocktails - sold!! Inside there were a handful of patrons at the bar, another table with two additional patrons and maybe a couple on the patio so it was fairly quiet and slow, so it looked promising. We headed up to the bar and hung out behind two empty barstools, the single female bartender greeted us and said she'd be right with us, but then continued chatting up the seated patrons, serving them and their friends that had just joined (AFTER we'd arrived). We moved a little further down to the handoff area where she was making drinks to save her having to come back to us again, and stood there for probably 10 minutes while she took orders and made all the drinks. We commented that she looked like she could definitely use a hand, and she said they were still adjusting into summer hours and determining whether more coverage was needed at this time - I figured 5pm on a Saturday should be primetime, so I'm not sure in what universe having a single bartender makes any sense. Finally we placed our cocktail orders, waited while they were made, and then put our card down for the tab. After we'd paid, I noticed the cocktails were more expensive than advertised on the sandwich board out front - I couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere that said only certain cocktails were included, so while it was a bummer I wasn't about to wait another 10-15 minutes to catch her attention and ask for clarification. Just a heads up to beware of whatever is advertised that might summon you in from the sidewalk, and make sure you ask before you make your selection. Drinks were very subpar, nothing special to write home about. While I can appreciate the Gatsby-esque vibe they're trying to uphold at Frankie's, they really should increase their staffing especially during prime weekend and evening hours, and be more transparent about their specials and what's included and what's not. Hindsight is 20/20, and the low volume of patrons when everything else around it was going off was probably a sign, so we'll skip Frankie's our next go around.

We visit at least once a month with friends from the nearby climbing gym, and always with our 6-year-old in tow who LOVES this place thanks to all the games there are to play. My favorite go-to menu item is the crunch wrap with carne asada - it's large so my husband and I usually split it. Their salsa is bomb, too (especially the green). We've also had some of their burgers, tacos, and our daughter always gets a personal pizza. The personal pizza scenario is the only thing I have beef with here - you get a 7" plain cheese pizza for $12, and you can add a max of 3 toppings which cost extra, so in the end our kid's food is more expensive than ours. Hey Fat Joe's - pleeeease considering adding a small pizza to the kid's menu and price it closer to the other $7 and $8 items!! The interior walls of Fat Joe's are decorated with art and murals of all the most important and beloved features of our city. The bartenders are friendly and efficient - drinks are poured/mixed and handed off quickly, and food arrives at your table shortly after. Bathrooms are always well-stocked and clean. Parking is pretty much limited to street parking and while it is limited, we've never had an issue finding a spot nearby. Finding solid family-friendly spots can be in short supply, but Fat Joe's hits all my criteria and remains one of our favorite spots to eat and spend time together.

Their burgers were great! 3 of us had burgers, one had a turkey burger, one of us had carnitas tacos. Those burgers were big and I would say homemade.
