My favorite bookstore!! I first heard about this place as it's one of the rare bookstores in all of…read morethe US that has both books and cats!!! There's a quiet room in the back where there's a few cats up for adoption. This way if you're allergic or whatnot, you don't have to worry about any cats wandering around (though personally, I'm totally cool with that!) I love their selection, they have such a diverse selection in all of the genres. It's such a treat to come visit because I can always find books I haven't seen yet! They have a wide selection of merch, like soap, stickers, pins, and more. The decor is so cute; last time I went there were so many origami cats everywhere! I also LOVE how connected they are with the community; they have a list serve you can sign up to get a monthly newsletter of all the cool events they have! I'm really happy we have such a unique and special bookstore here.

It was hard…read moreto navigate to the fiction shelf as there were so many people looking for new books to add to their collections. My genre of choice is Romance and I did not see a dedicated Romance section. Luckily, "House of Cotton" was on my TBR, as I had bought and gifted it a few years ago. So I snagged it and paid. The two workers behind the cash wrap were friendly and took the time to make me feel like I was the only patron in the store, despite what was probably an onslaught for the day. Rad Cat also has a curated selection of stationary and journals to choose from if that's something you're also in the market for. They have a section for cats you can interact with, however with the amount of people that came through on this day, the cats were also overwhelmed and weren't able to be interacted with. Which is totally fine and made total sense for the day.

Yes, you the reader of this right now. You are important to the successful operation of this cat cafe. An important part of this cafe is to socialize the cats with visitors so they become more friendly. Friendly cats get adopted. I found a friendly cat. He came right to the door to sniff me. Then as I entered from one door he was guided to his little stool - very obedient - so well trained I was in awe. His more shy brother always in the background - he would protect him and check me out first to make sure I was ok. The little guy had only interest in my - none of his toys. I gently got closer with some affectionate love pats and scratches. It is a love story of him and his brother and what landed them here. I fell in love with how they were so bonded and took care of each other. My heart melted as they snuggled up together in their little box as I left. If you are curious they are two brothers by the name of some sweet frozen desserts. A cute bonded pair that I spent all my time with there. There are so many other great ones here. I was blown away with the variety of colors and good movie star looks they had. I will be back.

Together, we save the lives of at-risk cats, find them loving homes, and advocate for a future where every cat is valued." The site has a lot of good information about the program, It's history and adoption and foster processes. You can visit the cat Café for 50 minutes with a small entry fee by reserving a space online as well. Lindsey went over the do's and don'ts before taking us inside. The set up is really nice with plenty of toys, food/water bowls and litter boxes. There is a separate area with cats in studios. The color coded signs let you know if you can walk in and visit, if you need to ask a team member or if it's just not a good time for a visit. I enjoyed my time here and met some cute furry friends. Belle answered all of my questions and all staff was super pleasant, I'll be filling out an adoption inquiry soon. The way to enter Cat town is through the souvenir Café next-door. You can grab a coffee, tea or other beverage and a pastry to enjoy before entering the Cat play area or after as there are tables and chairs.

Parking is on the side of the building but limited. Street parking is free but I usually can find a spot on the side of the building or in front. Proceeds of this place goes to helping cats and providing low fee or free services. The store itself is small but it has so much packed in. There are items for your cat family, clothing for men and women, shoes, lots of purses, lots of jewelry, DVDs, CDs, books, cookbooks, appliances, furniture, and more. I wish I took more pictures because mine do not do it justice. They also have a lot of sales and the prices are already low. Sometimes they have free items in front of the store. After I look at everything, I drop off my basket by the cashier and go into the cat cafe, champys. There is comfortable seating and cat toys you can use to engage with the kitties. It's a nice dopamine hit after shopping. I highly recommend this place for the variety and great prices. It's a bonus that it's for a good cause and you can play with cats too.

You have to sign a waiver for each person going in using the QR code that is posted in the front. Upon going in, you will be asked to put shoe covers on or for the little ones, take their shoes off and the person will charge you your admission and go over the house rules with you. Admission is $15 for 30 minutes for those over the age of 12 and $10 for 30 minutes for those under 12. There are a couple of dozen kittens of various ages inside frolicking around with most being super playful and friendly. There are toys available inside for you to engage with the cats. The place is relatively clean and surprisingly, no strong smell of cats or litter present. There aren't any official places to store you items when you go in, you just put it on the floor to the side but you should expect that there will most certainly be some curious kittens that get into your stuff and nuzzle up with your clothes, so be ok with some cat hair getting on your items.

Parking nearby is horrendous, super busy even on the weekdays before the rush hour so I can't imagine weekends when people are out or other high traffic times. Get ready to make some rounds and pay for parking and be careful since there's very specific signage and times. The cafe itself is cute and cozy. Front area is a gift shop with lots of cat themed gifts and goodies like keychains, stickers, and such, and also some items from local and small artists too, which is neat. The cafe also has community events like movie showings ("The Cat Returns" was one of them which is a great choice) and cat yoga. If you're local, you can also get a time stamp if you are a frequent visitor. Definitely follow their socials for more information. There's reservations online and you can also do walk ins if it's not super busy. You can book for a 55 minute visit or a 30 minute visit. PRO-TIP: There's a discount for students, so if you want to be surrounded by some feline friends while you study or relax, great place to do so. You can hang your coat on the rack and there's a mini shelf area for your shoes. So you gotta walk in with socks! With each visit you can either get a hot cup of tea or a cold can or box drink from their fridge (sparking water, juices, etc.). Very refreshing and you can enjoy it in the cat area too. Sanitize your hands before and after visiting. There's lots of cats hiding around, sleeping, walking around, and some are super friendly and will go into your lap. There's toys you can play with the cats with and there's a wall of adoptable cats. Lots of seats or you can opt to sit on the floor with the cats too. There's relaxing lo-fi music throughout too. Pretty cool that they rescued 2 cats from Qatar and neat that we got to see them. As with all cats, some can be a bit spicy but it's usually just a warning teeth rub. I own cats so there's nothing new. I'm horribly allergic to the cat that specifically lives in my house, but I didn't get an allergy here, meaning that the cats are clean and well taken for. My favorite was a large sleepy orange boy, Ron (permanent non-adoptable resident) that was hanging out next to me the entire time.

We took off our socks and found a table to sit at. Some of the cats came up to greet us when we were sitting. There are also toys available for you to use to play with them. Many of the cats were napping or lounging around but don't mind if you come up to sit next to them and give them pets. There were all types of cats and some of them are actually available for adoption if you happen to fall in love with one!
