Animal therapy for a price and w/o long term responsibilities So happy to see a place like this in the mall. Honestly our toddler had a breakdown at the cheesecake factory so this completely calmed him down. $15 for older kids / adults You sign a release form and cover your shows Tons of cats , beautiful decor + toys , and I love the wall displaying which cats are freshmen / sophomores / juniors etc... not sure what the price is to adopt them but they're all amazing, vaccines are up to date AND they're super used to kids and humans . When we're ready to adopt this would be the place

Kids must be accompanied by an adult My fee July 2024 was $15 for an adult and kids were $10 each for 30mins. A waiver needs to be filled out. They ask you to sign with a QR code and I don't mind if Wi-Fi is provided but you would need to use the malls Wi-Fi that needs a little information like email address, full name, gender, your location (which seems odd to me but I guess) and I feel like there was a few other questions still just to get Wi-Fi from the mall. We came around 3p and most of the kittens were sleeping. A few woke up to play and my girls enjoyed just being close to kittens. I suggest a visit to spend time with kittens but I'd probably go when they are awake. So shop for a bit or eat. The girls really wanted to go in. There were already a few visitors but I believe they keep it limited so a crowd won't bug them. Employees were soft spoken They hold adoptions so not all cats will be there for long.

My daughter has been begging to visit the kitty cats here for months now. There is usually a long wait during the weekends so we tried coming on a random week day morning. After paying the fee, signing some forms and putting on shoe covers, we were able to come right in. Because it's run by a a non-profit rescue organization, there are certain rules such as being quiet and gentle with the kittens/cats. There is peaceful music playing in the background; truly an environment where you can just relax with the kittens. In fact, I saw some people taking naps on the couch; others were reading quietly or playing respectfully with the kittens. We were sad when our time was up but will surely return in the future!

This place has very good kittens and cats. The volunteers are very kind. It's nice to be able to hang with cats and we got to bring some home!

I loved it. I really needed to visit this place. The staff were amazing. The kitties were cute. This was in my list for a long time. My son loved the cat's interaction. One cat chose him but we could not adopted right away because we are in a business trip. Next time.

When I stepped into Mini Cat Town, I thought I was at Disneyland. The last time I played with a cat was about 10 years ago when I went out for my weekly jog at the park. For some reason, all 5 cats near the park disappeared. I've always longed for a cat, but never got around to adopting one. I expressed my interest in getting a kitty to my friend. She was the one who told me about Mini Cat Town. She also adopted a kitty a few years ago from this place. My bf and I paid $15 each to interact with the kitties for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the girl politely told us our time was up. I found a 1-year-old kitty that I want to adopt. His name is Neo. The problem is that I also have to adopt his little sister Peppa since they are bonded. Sigh. After my brief visit to Mini Cat Town, I found a little taste of happiness here. I will definitely adopt a cat in the near future, as soon as I buy all the needed supplies and save up some money for vaccinations, procedures etc. If you are thinking about adopting or want a place to destress from everyday life, this is the place to visit. I give this place my highest recommendation!!

    Empty mini cat town

If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been here several times and every time I have an issue with one specific girl and her name is Charlotte (as per her she's the lead). I haven't had any other issues with anyone but every single time I come, if she's there, I already know she's going to start complaining. Background; I have a 4.5 and 1.5 year old and she seems to not like kids. So if you're coming here even though they allow young children to come I would say save your money and don't visit this place. She falsely said that my daughter hit the cat which was not true, she did pat the cat and the cat didn't cry or bite or scratch her they just moved away. Advice to the cofounders - you may want to reconsider who you staff and ensure they are actually nice and have good customer service skills. My time was cut short and when I asked for a refund she said they I broke their rules because of my daughter pating the cat. Seems like this establishment is just trying to make a quick buck! The irony is the place is empty so I doubt this place can afford to have terrible customer service. The volunteers are super friendly so maybe consider having them be a lead.

Love it love it!!! Best place in the mall!!! Was waiting an hour to get my phone fixed because my Corolla had a weak door hold spring and it smacked the phone out of my hand. These Japanese Toyotas may last forever but will annoy you the whole time with the bad design. Anyway some fuzzy kittens made me feel a whole lot better. This store was packed!!! Tons of four legged friends here as well as four legged friend lovers here!!! This one kitty... wow!!! Looked like it belonged in an a professional television ad for meow mix. Perfect fur... some attitude. Sits in a little round cat circle. Love the concept - I mean what else am I going to do in a mall with a one hour wait? Go to H&M and buy a skinny $25 suit so I look like a European heroin addict?

I visited this location two different times and had a relaxing, fun experience! I would say in comparison to the other sites, the cats here are definitely more chill. Most of them were sleeping during both our visits. The cats here are older than the other locations but they were still super friendly and enjoyed the pets and cuddles.

Beautiful and well run cat lounge. The place is clean and the cats are well groomed. The fee to visit is minimal and all the cost goes to care and feeding of the cats. The idea behind this place is so that cats can be cage free and allow potential adopters to get to know the cats in a stress free environment. I did notice a few people trying to visit with their rowdy kids and getting irritated that their kids could not pick up the cats or get too aggressive with the cats. I wanted to tell the parents that the cats are not there to be abused by their ill behaved children! This place has rules to protect the cats and I was so glad to see that the volunteers were professional with clients but also made sure the cats were safe. I read online views where people were upset with paying a fee to visit with cats. If you don't understand the purpose of a cat lounge then you are not the type of person who should visit. I enjoyed our quiet respite with the cats and would recommend this place to others.

We got our adorable cats from mini cat town after meeting them at the SJ MADE popup. The staff really cares about carefully accepting responsible owners and the adoption process was smooth and supportive. We got little twin kitties and they are so well socialized and trained, it's made being first time cat owners super easy.

Ask the Community - Mini Cat Town

When is the best time where the kittens are more active and not sleeping?

Our kittens are most active right when we open (11 am) to around 1. They usually crash and sleep until 5 and then they are awake until closing (7 pm)

I wanted an adult dog to add with our little mutt dog. We've had him for a total of 6 days now. Hands-down this dog is amazing. He's a great example of why you'd want to adopt an adult dog as he's slid right into our family - exceptionally housebroken (learned the sliding glass door immediately), got right in the car & road (continues to do so as he just sits upright or down -no fuss), easy on the leash when walking, doesn't bolt to take off after anything so far, gentle mouth when taking treats, understands no & wants to please, so far no separation anxiety at all, and gets along with my older kids & little dog and knows his basic commands (sit, wait, etc). He's easier than the puppies I've had. He's naturally adjusting in that he has low growled when we hugged to long or he couldn't see - that's normal as he's learning to trust us or at my little dog when she first got too close. But its looking like he's adjusting to her better as she accidentally rolled off the couch on to him as he was sitting below at my feet. She landed on him-he just got up, no growling or anything, more like what happened as he just got up and sat. His anxiety came at night when he threw up bubbles twice but no more now. I appreciated TVAR's relaxed approach in the process when we wanted to meet. I've had a rescue want me to meet on a weekday in the SF avenues to meet the dog as they were in a hurry. For me to get over there with my family to meet meant after school so essentially I wouldn't get back till after 8 PM. We didn't do that but the expectation was too hard and didn't seem practical as we'd be rushing. TVAR was great as they just said meet at the Petfair happening at the Farmer's Market. This worked perfect as we were able to meet in an atmosphere that was us as well as see how Stuart was amongst lots of people and dogs. We were able to take the time to discuss Stuart with his foster Mommy as well as with the TVAR rep. If you ever want to consider an adult dog, I would given Stuart is a textbook fabulous dog. I appreciate the fact that TVAR took the time to save his life so we could find him. We never would have without them. Plus their description was dead-on the money - they weren't overselling him, they actually undersold him given how great he's been so far. Kudos to TVAR.

Our tour focused on the cat side of VHS. First we checked out the youngest kittens, which are kept in separate rooms, followed by Kitty City, which houses the remaining cats onsite (the rest are in foster homes). We met all the Catizens of Kitty City, including Mayor Big Bird, who has since been adopted, and several others with interesting personalities and histories, like Donna, Dealership, and Zombie (my favorite!). The animals are lovingly cared for, and the operations at VHS are well-organized (e.g. laundry area, kitchen and break rooms, etc.). I had two new kittens that I took in as a foster, but of course my family and I fell in love with them and kept them. Everyone was so nice and although there was a lot of people there taking advantage of the free services, they communicated effectively and everything was organized and not chaotic. I joined their mailing list and found out about their next event in Richmond. The kittens and I went down there to get their second kitten shots and cat food, for free! I got on the waiting list for low cost spay and neuter clinic. Friendly staff, nicely organized. I was suprised when I got the call from them for the neutering appts quicker than expected! Brought both kittens down, everything went well, again for free!! Today my husband, our daughter and I went down to their free pets stocking decorating event. Met with smiles, super cute room filled with stockings and puff paint pens on the tables. They had cookies and hot apple cider. All for free. We decorated stockings for the kittens and our other cat, it was a lot of fun and they had a good turnout! While our stockings dried, we walked around a bit and found they had a boutique! We made Christmas donations for both cat and dog items that they matched! And we got our large dog some Christmas Jammie's on clearance for $5. Boutique was well priced, my husband got a Joybound hat! So onto the animas they had there! First we passed the cats. All of them cuddling in super nice beds, they had nice toys, scratch pads, colorful wallpaper in their individual rooms, information sheets on each door for each pet. The dogs had the same, nice fuzzy beds, toys, little slots to give them treats down this tube. So cute!! I typically can't look at shelter pets because I feel so bad for them. These animas all looked happy and very well taken care of! There was staff walking around regularly checking in on people since they had adoption available. I asked a few questions they were able to answer no problem! They seemed very caring and committed to the animals and putting their best foot forward in helping the get homes. Building super clean, staff super nice, animas all cozy. Overall, we have a great opinion of Joybound with all these diverse experiences we've had with them. The people are so nice and welcoming. We're so grateful for them and the help they provided my kittens, saved us a ton of money!!! And for all they do, thank you!!!!!!

Located in Alameda County Fairgrounds, the premise itself is quite big, and parking is plentiful and free, albeit unpaved and rather bumpy. When parking, be sure to make a note of the lot #, located at the front of each lot, in addition to the section letter. We made the mistake of only looking at the section letter and then later realizing that each lot had the same letters. While it may be a bit of a walk from the lot to the actual event itself depending on where you park, they have courtesy shuttles (aka trucks towing trailers with covered seating) that will take you to the event space and then later back to your car. The actual event outside has a TON of different booths hosting different vendors ranging from pet supplies, pet food, to pet photos. And most of them were giving out free samples so we wound up with a big bag full of dog food/treats by the time we left. As Pet Food Express is hosting the event, they give out a free tote bag for you to hold your freebies in as you roam the premise. And many other vendors thankfully also offer free tote bags as well. There are two main indoor buildings, with one side hosting dogs for adoption, and the other side hosting cats. In addition, we also saw many bunnies and even sold birds up for adoption as well. All the animals we encountered were very well socialized, and even the few which had signs warning people not to stick your hand in their cage/crate did not appear aggressive. At one point, my gf fell in love with this one cutie of a puppy that was such a sweetheart! Fortunately (or unfortunately if you ask my gf), she was already adopted. Else I am pretty convinced that we would have probably left there with a new family member. The event is well organized and well spaced out. There are plenty of workers and volunteers around if you have any questions, and despite it being in the mid 90's outside, even the outdoor tents which housed pets had fans and/or mist sprays which kept things cool and comfortable for all animals involved. And to keep dogs from burning their feet on the hot concrete, we saw workers avidly spraying down the ground to keep things cool. Plus water/bath stations were plentiful as well. Overall a really great event that allowed us to interact and play with a variety of different 4-legged friends. Be warned however for the possibility of leaving with a new addition to the family!
