Outrageous rip off: $38.90 to clean and press a 2 piece men's suit? They don't post prices and the ticket they give you doesn't indicate the price, so unless you ask beforehand you get a nasty surprise when you pick up your clothes. Plus I wasted a half hour waiting around during lunch time for the shop to re-open so I could pick up my suit. A ship that advertises being open 8 am - 5 pm should respect those hours and not inconvenience customers by closing at lunch. Never again! read more

Took two weeks to clean soup off a vest and ruined it in the process. I will never step foot in the place again. read more

I took a blouse in to be dry cleaned and they obviously damaged it, so it is unwearable. I tried for a month to work with them and they ignored me. They refused to reimburse me for the damaged garment. As you can see in the pictures below they damaged the elastic and stitching in the sleeves. There are new owners of the cleaners as of the past few months. I have gone to this cleaners for years and have never had a problem until now with the new ownership. I would not bring anything to this business. They will not take any responsibility for something they blatantly damaged! read more

Don't go. Extremely high prices and rude customer service. Dropped in a while back and asked how much to hem 2 pairs of women's wide leg dress pants. $25 a piece. High, but wanted them done. Took them in today, they pinned and told me $80. To hem 2 pair of pants. I left them then immediately called and told them not to hem them. Went to pick them up and was still charged a $10 fitting fee. Told them I'll never be back and it's high way robbery. Of course they didn't care. Never again. read more

Sorry, I wanted to be very positive BUT they are way too expensive. My last visit was my LAST visit. The staff continues to be very nice and helpful. I sure hope they get paid well given the high prices they charge. I have no idea why they are getting bad reviews. I have used them for 10 years and find them to be very helpful and constantly good. They are a bit expensive but they NEVER ruin my clothes which can be more costly. read more

I admit that this is my first and only dry cleaners that I've ever sent my clothes to. I'll stick to them until I hear incredible good word about another dry cleaners around Santa Barbara. But they seem to do a good job -- I haven't lost any buttons or seen any damages to the clothes! *knocks on wood* Prices seem a bit steep. Roughly 8-9 bucks for pants and shirt. The chemicals they use are eco-friendly, so you feel a bit less guilty about killing the environment. Always a plus, unless you have a terrible problem and would like to see the world crumble. read more

Four stars because they do good work. I rarely have issues with the product and on those rare times I had a problem, they took care of it no problems. In my 18 years here in SB, this is the only company I've taken dry cleaning to, at the Turnpike location, the Montecito location, and now the upper State location. However, I probably won't be going back, I just can't afford it anymore. I know dry cleaners everywhere are struggling badly, but I can't pay their rent by myself and will be seeking out cheaper dry cleaning in town. Business is down at just about every dry cleaner all over the country. Unemployment is high, so people aren't getting clothes cleaned, plus non-iron shirts are all the rage for us business types. The eye opener for me came over the summer when visiting my parents in LA and I got a suit cleaned for half the cost of this place. read more

One Hour Martinizing upper State St. preserved my wedding dress, and I was very impressed with their service and the quality of the work they did. My dress is now museum-quality preserved in a state of the art fashion, complete with white gloves to wear when I want to touch it! All the staff there are so kind and helpful. I plan to go there for my alterations also--will recommend to all my friends. read more

Stay way!!!!! Just left after picking up 2 sweaters and pay $32.50!!!!! Complete rip off!!! And the help couldn't even be bothered to listen to customers read more

If you want something cleaned same day and are willing to pay $17.50 for a rayon dress this is the place for you. First time customers can get a $3 coupon online but you have to present it upon drop off so they can raise the price and they can get their asking rate. read more

I had a terrible experience with them a while back - they actually SHRANK two items (a pair of pants and a table runner) to the point that they were unusable. I fought with them (visits, phone calls, letters) for ages and couldn't even get a reimbursement for cleaning costs never mind replacement for the items. I asked why dry cleaners would shrink something (since the whole point of DRY cleaning seems to be to prevent that!) and they were very defensive about their system which involves some German-made wet system. There was no logic there at all. Avoid. read more

Total rip-off. They do a good job, but $14 for a pair of pants! Bad attitude too boot. Stay away unless you need something done ASAP and you have a fat wallet. read more

I brought a T-shirt dress to this establishment to be hemmed. I specifically told the girl at the counter that the hem should be right at the pin. Also that I wanted the material from the hem because I wanted to make a headband out of it. When I went to pick it up, the cost for a simple hem was $45.00! I paid it , and took the dress home. When I tried it on, I discovered that my dress was now a shirt. The hem was at least 4" to short and the hem was uneven. Took it back for a refund. I was told that the manager is only available to talk about refunds in the morning. A day later, I went back and the manager told me she had to ask the owner. The manager did convey that nothing could be proved on there fault because the seamstress threw away the cut hem that I had originally asked to be saved. I expressed that I brought in a dress to be hemmed as stated on my receipt. The dress is a shirt now. I left with the promise that the manager would talk to the owner about the refund for ruining my dress I was called a few hours later and told that I wasn't getting a refund because I had pinned the dress for the hemming and I couldn't prove that I didn't pin it to 5 inches to be removed. (?). After some argument I managed to get $25.00 back and told that I wasn't allowed to use their store for alterations again. !!!! I told the manager that I wouldn't be back. Ever. For anything. Do not get alterations done here. Besides way overcharging they do not care about customer service. I'm out time, money, and the price of a dress. read more

They are great!! No mistakes. They will talk things through with you if you have questions. The seamstress does a great job. They are speedy which I appreciate because most cleaners in Hawaii where I'm from take a week to dry clean your clothes. read more

I had been going here for years and never had any problems with their service, but was recently shocked by their high prices. I had two suits cleaned - one with pants, one with a sheath dress. The amount of fabric was exactly the same, but they charged me double for the suit with the dress claiming that the suit was actually a separate jacket and a separate dress. When I tried to explain that it was a suit and not two separate items, same amount of fabric, etc., the woman at the front desk became irritated with me. There was no "talking things through with me" as Lisa H. has experienced according to another review. It was not a pleasant experience. I won't be going back. read more

Tailoring poorly finished. Sleeves lengthened unevenly. And I should have checked the cost first....above average. :(

NEVER going back. Their prices are outrageous to say the least. Simply steaming the front of a dress cost $23!? If I wanted to waste my money I'd toss it out my window. The most infuriating part is that they don't tell you the cost when you drop off the clothes. read more
