We have been fixing up our house since moving to Rossmoor from Rancho Palos Verdes, and this door company is the biggest surprise ever. Some of the new house was already nicely done, but the hollow doors felt like plastic, it had cheap blinds that did not work, and it had no closet organizers. After not finding any carpenters or contractors who could handle the job, we were told by a friend in Torrance to look up Interior Door company, and boy we are glad we did. We were told by other contractors that we had to tear out the door frames, which were in good shape, and our flooring was just done, so we were thrilled when Jeff at Interior Door told us they used a computer thingy to measure the openings, and another computer to cut them. Wow, perfect fit, and the doors look great. We also did all the closets with organizers and new doors, and a new office set up for my husband, who is an author, and he was able to finish his new book in a nice setting. And since we found out that pricing on larger jobs is better than smaller, we decided to do garage organizers also, which we have never had before. My husband calls it his new "man cave", but since all my laundry and storage areas are now there, I hate to tell him that it's really my "woman cave". When I first called there, they advised both my husband and me to be at the estimate, which I declined at first, thinking, "well, it's just doors". Boy was I wrong, after seeing all the technical questions and styles, colors, designs to consider, we scheduled another meeting with both of us, and that even took almost 2 hours to cover everything, which included a lengthy design session for the garage. And the whole project turned out beautifully! But the biggest surprise of all was that they installed the doors, organizers, and garage system in just one day! From talking to other contractors I thought this would take more than 3 weeks, and the doors were going to be painted on the front lawn, of all places! That's another thing that clenched it for me, Interior Door's factory paint looks great. It was such a pleasure working with the Interior Door & Closet Company from beginning to finish. The owner, Glenn Johnson, is an honest and dedicated business man. During our first meeting he explained the product and what they could offer with an awesome power point presentation that was professional and easy to understand. We were able to design our own closet configurations with an efficient computer program on his lap top, and make as many changes as we would like. As interior designers, my husband and I appreciated the flexibility and creativity we could add to the design. Glenn also jumped through several hoops to make our job a success. I'd like to think he went the extra mile just for us, but I can tell that he's the type of business man that puts all of his client first, and will do whatever it takes to make the job a success. The installers were professional, courteous and wonderful to work with. They arrived on time and worked diligently all day. They asked me questions about how I would like items installed and were concerned about the details of the install. They were able to install four closet interiors, five closet doors, and ten interior doors with new hardware in one day! Amazing! The installers added trim around the interior shelving when it was needed, so everything looked clean and solid. Our new doors have completely changed the look of our home and the quality of the materials is second to none. The openings were measured with a sophisticated laser system, so the doors are a perfect match to the openings. Our new closet interiors have helped us organize our belongs so that everything is easy to find and accessible. Our small children can now easily reach their clothing and can open and close the closet doors with ease. The gliders are smooth and quite. The paint finish is baked on at the factory, so I am thrilled it will survive my three rambunctious children. One of the best things home-owners can do to give their home a significant (yet reasonable) facelift up-grade is to replace their outdated interior doors with high quality solid wood doors and new hardware; and 2. If one doesn't chose Interior Doors and Closets to do the job, they just haven't done their homework. Our family business was building homes. I've seen hundred of doors hung and thought I had a pretty good idea how it needed to be done. When I saw ID&C's method, I realized I was still in the Stone Age. Their propriety computerized technology brought me rushing into the 21st century. Their computer, in literally a moment takes the exact measurements of each existing opening, which are rarely if ever, true or square. The technician did a dozen doorways in less than an hour. The data for each (I went to the shop to watch the process) is downloaded to the cutting machine and the machine analyses the information, picks the right tool and cuts the door precisely to fit each particular opening. The end product is perfectly balanced plus cut to accommodate the existing hardware cut-outs . Each door once cut, then is custom laser painted in a dust free room and allowed to dry before the new hardware is installed. Then the doors are suspended on the truck and delivered to the site ready for installation. The technicians then match the door to the specific opening it was cut for and zap it into place. One could spend 10 times as much for an on the job site custom application, painting and installing new hardware and still not come up with a consistently better result. The first thing that sold me on this company was that their representative Bryan was on time to our appointment. Out of three companies that came out to give us a quote he was the only one to show up on time! He defiantly knows what he is selling too. When the shutters came in and were installed my jaw dropped they were even more beautiful then what I imagined. Quality and cost savings, these guys delivered it all. We have been seeing their ads in "The Home Improvement Guide" for more than 10 years so we decided to give them a call. After sending out a measure tech to measure my house, I met Glenn (the owner) at their factory to see their privacy glass interior doors. I wanted a modern look to match our stainless steel stair hand rails. He showed me their digital measuring devices and explained why it works best in older homes. He explained that measuring devices can digitally "map" my non-square old door fames so we don't have to tear out the existing door jambs. Thank goodness because our flooring is brand new. I was sold. We ordered 18 dual-glaze privacy laminated glass interior doors for our entire house and front doors. They painted them in their factory with "Sherwin-Williams" hi-tech oven cured paint. Looks incredible, what a difference the paint finish can make. The office staff, Stephanie & Megan, were excellent with communicating each step in the process. Extremely Happy Customer. Our custom closet was just installed and WOW we can't say enough how pleased we are with Interior Door & Closet Company. After getting several estimates, IDCC surpassed our expectations at each stage in the process. First, the 3D design process was the best part. We could see everything before it was built and was able to choose from multiple design layouts. We love the rounded corner hanging rods. Our big biggest complaint with our old closet was the cluttered corners where we couldn't see sections of clothing. The materials are high quality and all sit in the floor as compared to the hanging designs other companies showed us. Don't let anyone sell you on a hanging system- weak and cheap. The lead installer, Tony, told us he had been doing closets for more than 25 years. His experience and skills were obvious, he's a real pro. The workmanship, fit, and finish are all superb. The price was better than the other companies we met with even though we added much more to our closet with IDCC. I remodel homes in the South Bay and have been working with Interior Door & Closet Company for more than 10 years. We purchased interior doors from a Home Improvement Store because they told me they were easy to install. After attempting to install the first door we realized that none of our door frames are standard sizes. I called several companies and contractors for help, but everyone wanted to tear out my doors frames which would damage my new hardwood floor. We then found a handyman service which stated by phone that they could install them. The handyman service was going to charge me labor only of $200 per door, but upon inspecting my odd size door frames they declined to take the job. The Handyman Service Estimator stated that my door frames were too difficult for them to attempt and that we needed a digital measuring and fitting service. Best home improvement company in Los Angeles! My home remodel was just completed. We hired Interior Door & Closet Company in Torrance to replace all our interior and closet doors. From the very first estimate meeting to the final install, IDCC's process was great. They have a digital measuring and computerized cutting process that produces incredible results. Our old doors did not fit or shut properly, but IDCC's door digital fitting process solved all our old doors complaints. Really DIG this company. Just ordered 16 new interior doors and two large closet doors which span the entire walls of two rooms. They use the coolest technology to digitally scan your openings so absolutely no mistakes or gaps will occur. (I did a double take when I heard accuracy down to 1/1000th of an inch) Don't waste your time hiring a handyman--These guys will save you some serious money and time. Best of all, my entire home will be done in half a day. As a working professional taking off 7-9 days of work for ANY home improvement is a NO GO. My house is nearly complete. New kitchen, new floors, new landscaping and new patio doors. I'm betting on the new interior doors to completely finish my home. Replaced and installed 7 interior doors, including a pocket door with solid wood, finished doors and hardware. The sales rep came to my home, showed me the styles and prices of solid and standard doors. Explained how all my doors would be electronic measured for total accuracy and fit. Told me that they would be Jen Weld doors that are painted on their shop site with three baked layers of paint. I chose from their selction of handles and hardware. The next Monday, Kyle, the technician measured and told me the installers would be here to install and take away the old doors on Friday of the same week. All went exteremely well. The three men who did the installation were neat, polite and efficient. Jose took extra time and care when removing and installing the new pocket door. The clean up after they were done was terrific and they completed the total job in 2 hours. For the quality of workmanship and the convenience, I think it was a very fair price. read more
