Den Defenders just finished installing our beautiful new security door and it is fantastic! This is no typical security screen door. It is a wall of security. We had always wanted the convenience of a screen door for airflow, light and cooling, but have escaped artist pets and still want to feel safe inside. We also have a custom door that didn't have much framing and very little wood to work with. What caught my attention when seeing an ad for Den Defenders is that they specialize in doors that have this issue and can build in a secure mount for your door and make it solid! It is so beautiful too and highlights our glass panel door so nicely! Neighbors are already curious and complimenting how it looks! Per AI, a mixed bag of good and bad reviews on Google. I'll start the good with Darrell who was the salesperson thar I purchased the door through in January. Yes, there may be the same security door out there for much less, but I trusted him. The agreed installation date would take up to 3 months. Two days before the install date, in mid-April, I wondered why there wasn't any reconfirmation. So a call to their "customer service" I learned the door wasn't even ready yet! But was told it would be ready the following week. Then the installer came out and realized the manufacturer had built the wrong door!! After calling Darrell it was determined it was the factory's mistake. Ross (the installer who works out of California) said he would be back within the next month and I would be first on his list to complete the job. As the revised date, in mid-May (3rd date change by now) approached, their dispatch called and put the installation off by another week. I had a trip planned and could not change so was told it would be June. After another call to Darrell he had a manager call who apologized and he would make sure the door would be installed on the agreed upon date. Instead, they came out the week later while I was out of country. Fortunately I had a family member at the house then and the security door was finally installed - four months after the initial meeting. From the pictures Ross sent to me after he installed the door it looked great. But now they wanted payment of the balance I owed (they take 50% upfront as a deposit which is non-refundable by the way). I told them I wasn't going to pay them from an unsecured site I was at and would pay them as soon as I returned - which I did. All in all, the door looks great and I'm very satisfied with the work Ross did. I appreciate the effort Darrell made to get the door installed. BUT, their customer service is absolutely terrible. They don't answer calls back in a timely manner and their lack of good communications is the worse I have encountered with any contractor that I have worked with. The 4 rating is for the door and the installer. Otherwise I would rate Dan Defenders a 1 for lousy communications and a lack of urgency to help the customer. read more

I was considering using den defenders for a pricey security door with dog access. When I finally got a hold of the company, I spoke with the salesman named Kenneth Wilson. I made the appointment for the measurement technician to come out then he asked me how soon I would want to make a decision. I told him as soon as possible. Ok gauging my interest. The next question however was really inappropriate, sexist , disrespectful and degrading. He asked me if I had the ability to make the (financial) decision or if I needed to confer with my husband. I never mentioned a husband or indicated in any way that someone else would be involved in the purchase. Needless to say I will be canceling the appointment. If this is their sales representative, I don't want to give my money to this business. I am very financially secure and this company just lost my business. read more

Update 10/10/2025: I am a little behind updating this review but I did not want to miss updating again how outstanding it is to work with Den Defenders. Over the summer,around May, they installed a security front door for my elderly mom. The technician was Mike Carson. Mike was very respectful and informative with my mom. He took the time to explain the product and answered her questions. There was no hard sell because the product sells for itself. Mike was great. To be transparent, I initially did not want my mom to proceed because the security door/gate was pricey but I have to admit my mom made 100% a correct decision installing the security door. All summer she kept her front door open with the peace of mind that her front was secured. The door is also very attractive and made the front of her door look so much better. There may be other security doors out there for less, but the Den Defenders door is completely sealed, which was important to my mom. From the street the door stands out and she can see out but you have to get up real close to see inside. My mom made a good choice and thanks to Mike Carson who did the initial sale and Jarret Beck who did the installation. This is a long update , but when I see a good product, honest and good customer service, I like to take the time and do a proper review. read more

The factory was slow on providing the correct security screen to Den Defenders, and it took approximately 3 months to receive; however once Martina and Ricardo got involved the correct window screen was provided within 24 hours. The product and service provided by the two is a big asset to the company. We were one of the homes that prior to the screen had been broken into by a team of 4 burglar, no arrests although we had video and photos of them through our ring system given to local authorities. First of all-the doors are attractive, nice, & quite pricey. However, the installation of these expensive doors was terrible...installer name is Charlie. He did not put weather stripping. He used the wrong screws. Did not install the threshold. Was missing finishing hardware. He created jacked up holes in frame. He put door locks on a crooked slant. He took our extra set of keys. He installed our doors on neighbors house. Toby(upper management) was contacted, and after many excuses-he said he would send a different installer out, to fix our concerns. Then came Ross. He was able to see our grievances and spent the entire day, fixing all the "wrongs." He did not make excuses. He apologized and got to work, fixing it. 2 screen doors and a window screen, run about $8000.00. You pay that much...you expect quality work. Upon completion...Toby should've reached out and called, to see if customers issues were resolved. Toby also asked for receipt, to reimburse us for locksmith/locks changed we had to hire. As of today... no Toby. Not a very impressive company. Nice looking screen doors though! read more
