I have to tell you...I'm not a big fan of cake. It's not that I don't like it, I just don't see…read moremuch of a purpose in it. So, why on earth am I writing a review for a cake business you may ask? Well, it takes a lot to impress me with cake and I need to give credit where credit is due. Since I am not a fan of cake, and others find this odd...I will eat a little to make others happy, etc...whatever, and move on. I thought this would be the case too...you know, put on a show for others. I especially had to be nice since my sister got married and Kymm made her wedding cake and cupcakes. And try to make nice for Kymm...eeek! Dang ya'll...I took a bite out of one of these cupcakes and had to have another...and then another. Who am I kidding...I had another! Shoot...I was lickin' my fingers! Between the timeframe from when they were served after the wedding and the next day I had 6 of my own and had to eat my son's icing. Yes, I had to, that would have been icing abuse! I'm not a big fan of icing either, but this stuff was super yummy! Not only were the cake and cupcakes delicious, but they were beautiful. Normally anything that pretty can't taste good, but it's true...they are/were! Even all these little jewel things on the cupcakes were edible little candies...yum!!! Nothing was too sweet either...just the perfect mix! No, I am not transformed into a cake fan, it just takes a lot for me to like any cake. Whatever magical goo Kymm put in that cake, and those cupcakes, made them delicious and left me wanting more. I'd highly recommend her to anyone, anywhere, but she is not everywhere. Wish I had access to her cakes where I live, but I don't...sniffle. On that note, if you are in the area and especially if you have an event happening in Reno, Lake Tahoe, or South Lake Tahoe and need a cake of any sort...Kymm is your gal! Plus, she is super sweet and kind herself...thanks Kymm! And thanks for making my sister's day special...your cakes/cupcakes were the icing on the cake (for the lack of a better term---LOL)! On May 7, we received another confirmation email stating PICK UP WAS CONFIRMED ON HER END. I showed up on the agreed time to pick up the order and no one was there at all. I called the number I received in my confirmation emails, turns out they were out of town. I gave her my name and the details of the pick up and she couldn't find my order as well as let me know it wasn't even started. No delivery was offered to me, just a "when can you come pick it up when I get back?" (We chose to pick the order up instead of her deliver it because there is an additional $15 fee.) I asked for a refund and stated I'd never try to do business with her again. Apparently I was the rude one! I showed up at the designated time and place (on a road that's blocked off completely for construction, so I had to walk to her house a bit) to pick up something I paid for to be gifted to me, on Mother's Day. Is what it is, I thought I'd have a better experience at a highly rated local cottage bakery.
