I went in today to sell two Graco Pack n' Plays (1 was older, 1 was brand new, unopened and in its original box), which they were apparently "in need of." They passed on the older one (fine, no problem), but the associate proceeded to offer me $20 for the new one because "they were going to sell it for $40." Give me a break! It's being sold at multiple stores for $80! When I declined, the associate, who spoke to every customer with a raised voice, copped an attitude with me. This story does have a happy ending, because a really nice couple actually bought the Pack n' Play from me literally right in front of the associate for much more than what they offered. This store is a god send for people like me who have 3 kids. We go out of our way to shop at this location. It is so clean and organized. They have an amazing toy section. The clothing is very good with a fantastic selection. My 8 year old son is a bit tall, so we have to double check sizes. Because all of these items were pre-loved, sometimes shirts shrunk a bit and are too small. We got our Easter outfits here and could not be happier. The staff is extremely friendly and it's a joy to come here. read more

By rude I mean the lady actually yells at customers. they don't give an actual time frame of when things will be done. We've driven from out of state to come here expecting for it to be done after a couple hours, which is what they say, but that's never the case. Amazing store for discount used kids clothes, toys, and accessories. Clothes look clean and free of rips and stains. You'll kick yourself for ever buying anything new again at full retail price. Has to be the most organized store I've ever been in. Easy to find sizes that are clearly marked and sectioned. Boys/girls separated by age. Strollers, car seats, swings, etc. Only drawback to this place is the prices they give you for selling your stuff back. Your lucky to get 40 or so cents for a $10 onesie you bought somewhere else. Might be better off selling back clothes on Ebay. read more

I just wrote a review for the West Springfield OUAC so why not this one? I've been buying and selling at this location for about 9 years now. They're very fair and most importantly consistent with their buying process and I definitely appreciate that. It's not a "whichever buyer is there" kind of thing. When they do reject there's legitimate and specific reasons. The clothes they do sell never seem to disappoint. Their customer service is excellent and the store is always clean. If I could give zero stars to this location I would. The store concept is great but if you want to be lied to about sales and returns or refunds, by all means shop here. If you dont. Then go to another location, the Enfield location has been deceptive with me on atleast 2 occasions and cost me money. West Springfield ma isn't that far and I have had way better experiences there. read more

I don't have children but I needed some baby gear for a Halloween costume I was making. The staff was super friendly and helpful fitting me for a Baby Bjorn (how the hell do mothers put that on with a live infant in the mix is beyond me) They helped me find everything I needed, plus the prices were great and the quality of everything I saw was "like-new." The onesie I bought still had the original tags on it! Everyone was stunned when they found out I only paid $20 for a Baby Bjorn carrier! You know that feeling you get when you find a great pair of boots -- in your size -- on clearance and you have a store coupon to use on top of that? Or when something small, leather and fabulous tucked in behind all the other handbags at TJMaxx catches your eye and you feel like it was placed there just for you, because it's the only one and it happens to be wayyy marked down and it's more "you" than any bag you've ever seen before? Well, since my recent foray into motherhood, those things never happen to me anymore because I've stopped shopping for myself. BUT! Once Upon a Child has returned my goosebumps and that jittery feeling you get in your stomach when you walk out of a store with amazing things that you paid borderline-robbery prices for. Every time I leave this place, I load my haul into my trunk and think "SCORE!" My most recent visit yielded a Hanna Andersson snowsuit, a gorgeous hooded wool toggle coat, 4 pairs of designer dark wash straight-leg jeans that make my baby looks like he belongs in GQ (on clearance for $.75 a pair, thank you very much), a zip up Adidas track jacket, 2 pairs of stride rites and a pair of Pumas, a handknit wool sweater and enough winter standards (turtlenecks, sweaters, etc.) to get us through the cold months...and my total was like $60. Be still my heart. The good news? I could tell a similar story for every visit I make to this store. The not-so-great is that the place is jam-packed with inventory and the aisles are narrow. If you go on a weekend, be ready for crowds and expect that you might have some trouble accessing the racks of items you want to see. Also, the top rack is up pretty high and can be hard to view (but I'm short, so maybe that's just me!). The shoes & boots are squished into a back corner that make it hard for more than one or two shoppers to view at a time, and they are on shelves in bins sorted by size so you have to pull your size bin(s) out and rummage through them. People's kids will probably be underfoot/playing with toys on the floor/emerging from racks of clothes with a "BOO!" and just generally clogging up the place even more than it already is...so if this kind of thing is going to put a damper on your shopping, you might not want to go on a weekend. And if you have your own child in tow, there is a little play area walled off and filled with toys (it's a half wall so they're always visible -- kind of like the play-with-a-puppy pens in the pet store). Also, the staff is generally wonderful but some can be prickly if you have questions or need help with anything. On a recent visit, I approached the counter with an armful of things I intended to buy and asked if they could perhaps hold them while I finished shopping, and they did but I got the sense that I was really putting them out. The workers sort/tag/prep new inventory behind the counter so they're busy and it's congested. Just a heads up! Oh, also...they have a stamp card that, when full, will get you a discount on future purchases. I really love this store and always look forward to going! read more

I've been to several of the OUAC locations and this one is now my go to. It's further away then the others but worth the drive. The store was clean, bright, and organized! They have a nice book section and a play area for kids who have to hang out waiting for mom and dad. The staff were much friendlier and helpful at this location then others I've encountered. I'm giving four stars and not five because their toy selection wasn't that large or varied. Maybe they'll stock up now that Xmas is coming. It's located in the shopping district in Enfield with lots of other good stores and restaurants to hit while you're there. read more

I did not have a good experience at the Enfield CT location.I went today and brought some items my daughter no longer uses. The lady who waited on me was very rude about telling me she didn't want some items. I had my daughter in my hand and went to grab the stuff and leave. When I got to my car and drove 1/2 mile down the road I realized if left my wallet. I went back and the rude lady told me I didn't. I explained it was blue, then she proceeded to tell me I had a coral pink wallet. She said you left a coral pink wallet on the counter, I said it was blue. So she said she didn't see it, I have a very bad feeling about this place. As I gave her the benefit of the doubt and ripped apart my car and my wallet is no where to be found. The counter was the last place I set my wallet. I notified the police and they will be looking into it. I have called them multiple times where they continued to tell me it was pink. I can promise you I know a Tiffany blue Kate Spade wallet from a Pink one. Really hoping my wallet is found and returned. Really sad people have to steal people's belongings. I only went to places my car and the counter to place my items. read more

What a horriable experience. I brought baby clothes in to see if I could get something for them. They dont take handmade outfits,a couple had a few spots.this lady was very rude. I had a cute baby gap black velvet overalls with matching shoes she would not take the perfect overalls but the shoes. I will never go in there ever again. It was all about money so they could charge people more money. Not a friendly environment. So I gave them to a ver grateful new mom and that made it worth it. The Enfield Once Upon a Child is far superior to the other OUACs in Connecticut. This store is worth the additional travel time for me, despite two other stores being in closer proximity to my home address. The store is always clean, organized and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I have both sold and purchased many items at this location and always had a great experience. They offer a great selection of used children's clothing, shoes, and toys. They tend to have less baby equipment and their selection of large toy items is often just hit-or-miss but overall the store experience is great. They also sell a lot of new Melissa & Doug products in the store, which I have liked as an option for picking up a few birthday gifts while shopping for some used things for my daughter. read more

We buy all of our infant clothes here. We have yet to buy anything older than 9 months yet, but I can tell you that the quality of the infant/baby clothing is wonderful. We get great brands at unbeatable prices. They also sell furniture, strollers, pack n plays, exersaucers, you name it. They have been a huge money saver in our house! I definitely recommend this place to anyone with young children. read more
