If they have "buying guidelines" said guidelines are inconsistent, WILDLY inconsistent. I mean, this happened a little over two months ago and I'm still not over it. See, to shore up funds for a pre-order, I tried to sell a few things for some pocket money (because we know how consignment stores work) and I didn't really get anywhere with it . Apparently, they won't buy dolls without clothes, which completely ignores that the kids will redress them anyways, while selling toys that are either missing pieces or beat to hell, matter-of-fact, one of the toys I've seen was practically broken, with one being a dollhouse that has a broken elevator being sold for $18. They passed one of the items that I attempted to sell but I wasn't given a reason why. All this isn't getting into how they lowball your items and the owner's response was especially unhelpful. If you have some baby items and toys that need a new home, I'd suggest donating them to charities. Need some extra funds? I suggest selling on Marketplace, Letgo, Depop, Poshmark, or eBay, NOT at Once Upon a Child. Fairly negative experience and I don't see myself selling here again. read more

This review is for selling items. You are better off selling them to a friend or marketplace. I just sold 14 good quality sleep sacks and got only $23. That's less than $2 a piece! However, they do have one of the best selections in town for clothes, shoes and toys. Parking is right out front but beware, some staff can be rude. read more

One of the nicest Once Upon A Child's I've been too. Everything was so neat and organized!

I have sold to this location for many years. It is a little further out for me to drive than my regular store. From time to time if I am out that way I use this store to sell items. I take care to make sure my items are sellable, laundered, in good condition. I had a very nice brand name coat and a jacket and a pair of shorts. They offered me $3.25, totally ridiculous. I thought all the stores used the same pricing payout scale. When I called ahead because I was having someone pick up for me. I was told $9.17 , I told my Mom this who was picking up for me. They were very rude to her and after asking if the amount was right, she got even more attitude. I won't be back. Store looks more organized now but staff is rude & payout is ridiculous. I'll go to the other store. read more

Staff is very rude every time I go in the store. They do not communicate at all with you when your "big items" have been processed, and I never received notification that the two totes I took in were sorted through and ready for pick-up. After waiting for several hours for a text, I finally returned to the store to see where they were in the process. There may be one kind/polite employee working when I go in, but for the most part you leave feeling quite mad at how you are treated. Maybe another location has better customer service standards? read more

Of the Once Upon a Child stores I've been to, this one is my favorite. It has the same great selection of "gently used" children's clothing, toys and gear as all the others. The low, low prices are the same. The employees and customer service make the difference. They seem to understand that, as moms, we don't have all day to hang around a strip mall! I sold them some of my kids' clothes, and since it took longer than they promised, they apologized profusely and gave me an extra stamp on my frequent shopper's card. I stopped in on a weekday morning and is was SUPER busy. However, they have a TON of inventory for all ages at extremely reasonable prices. I do wish they had more zippered footie pajamas and that they were easier to find. read more

We went to the store in the Fields Ertel/ Cincinnati area. Avoid this store. They were extremely disinterested, unprofessional, and rude. They obviously could care less about the seven totes of possible material for them. Every lady was rude to both my wife and I . Once we finally got their attention away from chatting with their coworkers-which was difficult-they impolitely told us what they would not take. There was zero tact used on their part. They were curt and terse. We will never set foot in that store again especially since there are a few other similar stores nearby. There is a severe problem with tone and esprit de corps at this store. I really hope ownership reads this to remedy it. read more

Clean, well organized, well priced. I always walk away finding some great stuff. They have new items coming in all the time, this is a very busy location. The isles aren't crowded, it's very spacious. There have been employee's working on just stocking shelves/reorganizing each time I've been there. Definitely my favorite Once Upon a Child in the Dayton/Cinci area that I've visited. They have a bathroom, dressing rooms and a corralled play area for little ones (I never used it though so I can't really say I looked too closely). They don't pay much for large items, but when you're planning on donating anyway, some money is better than none right? read more

I recently bought a pack n play from here for my daughter. She did not like it so we decided to return it to them and they wouldn't take it back because it had too many "stains" but it was the same way they sold it to us. Worst experience of my life, do not sell something with stains and then not take it back the SAME WAY you sold it. Will not be recommending this store to any of my friends or family or anyone else. They have a lot of children's clothes and toys! It's very organized and reasonably priced! I always go here first if I'm looking for a toy for my kids before buying it brand new since we all know it gets old after five seconds of the kids playing with it anyways. Or if you are looking for more clothes for the new season for your growing kids this is a good place to start too! read more
