Their truck was in St. George Utah today. My wife and I ordered fish and chips. This is their complete menu. Fish and chips, extra piece of fish and fries. Fish and chips is $12 and you get 3 large pieces of fish, sizable portion of fries, tarter sauce and a special fry sauce. You can ask for ketchup and extra tarter sauce. They have no salt (not needed) or any kind of drink. The fish was cook perfect. Not greasy or dried out. The fries were well browned but soft inside. Perfect. We went for lunch and couldn't finish it all. I highly recommend On The Hook Fish and Chips food truck. read more

Wow, we had our doubts when our family suggested going to eat fish from a truck, we must say we were so impressed our fish was big not to much breading but the breading also had good flavor comes with french fries they were crunchy good tasting well worth the money and we will be back as soon as they come back to Rifle. My husband isn't much of a fish guy he ate his and some of mine that's how good it really is. THANK YOU read more

this is the most disgusting greasy ass food with the worst fries I've ever eaten. if I had the chance to retract my visit I would 100 times over read more

It's probably my favorite fish and chips I've had and every time up until the last time it's been amazing and they give plenty of food to be full. This most recent time I went they gave about 15 fries with the fish which for $13 is a little disappointing. Like I said I've been extremely satisfied every other time I've gone so hopefully this doesn't happen again. read more

The best fish and chips I have had in a long time. The li e was long, but very worth the wait.

Bought in Grand Island, NE. There is twice as much batter as there is of fish. My 3 pieces of fish flesh totalled about 4 ounces. That makes the fish about $48 per pound. I'm sure those who like this food truck actually like the taste of fried batter, with no regard for the fish. Fresh cod really has no flavor (or odor) so the fish needs seasoning of a unique type to give you something to taste, besides the taste of fried beer batter. read more

The fish was alright, not many chips in my box. My major complaint is that I asked specifically for one thing, which was malt vinegar that I did not receive. I was looking forward to the whole meal until I realized I hadn't been given vinegar. It was one single thing to ask for, and the place had just opened so I'd expect better service, especially for that price. read more

Last night was our third time ordering thier fish & chips. We placed our order at 6:15 in Bountiful UT and were told that it would be about 30 minutes. They quit taking orders at 7 pm. We didn't get our order until almost 8 pm. There were a group of us that placed our orders at 6:15 that didn't get our food until after the very last guy that had ordered at 7 pm. I don't know how they miss-shuffled our orders but it was a brutal wait in the sun watching everyone else that came after us leave with their orders. Pretty ticked off. The fish is good but not good enough for that wait. read more

It was a hour and a half wait, tasted okay.... It wasn't until about 5 hours later me and my fiancee were "sick" to be polite about it...

Visited the truck in Broomfield, Colorado on May 23, 2020. The fish pieces were small, not large. They also said they ran out of malt vinegar. If you're serving "fish and chips", you better stock malt vinegar. Otherwise you're serving fried fish and french fries American style, which is to say "yeeeech". Don't bother with your time or money, there are lots of better purveyors who serve a proper English fish-n-chips. read more

Truck was in Falcon, CO today and I was so excited to try it. 3 small pieces of fish, 2 were tough and stringy and 1 was decent. No flavor and the batter was way too oily. Not worth the 12.00. Thankfully there was tarter sauce! read more

Three fish sticks for $12.84? Way too much batter, not enough cod and very greasy, didn't care for the fries either. I like the enterprising young guys running it though, they just need to improve their product quality. read more

Fish is great. Hours are posted as 11am to 7pm. Arrived at Natural Grocers lot at exactly 11. Truck was there, but the 2 guys working were not prepared and made no apology for making us wait 30 min. in the 90 degree heat. read more

What a wonderful treat, thank you for cruising through our little town and feeding us.

This place could be better if they had more quality controls in place. I ordered a plate from one of the trucks parked outside a grocery store in Provo. At first the food looked great; huge portions and fairly clean. The main disappointment came when I bit into the halibut and realized that two of the three pieces were raw in the middle. Could still see the raw egg and milk used in the batter. This likely happened because of a lack of handling multiple customers and feeling pressured to just "get the food out". This was my first time there so it was quite disappointing to have to throw away a $13 plate of food. read more

I have heard about their fish and chips for a long time now, but never seemed to be in the area they were at. I received a text today that they were in an area close to my home. I got in my car and drove down to the location they were at . I asked several individuals in line if they thought the food was good and they all told me it was fantastic ! I bought 2 orders and took it home ! My nephew and i had to admit that it is probably one of the best fish and chips we have ever had. It was so moist and juicy and hot . The french fries are also absolutely delicious, and much better than any other restaurant around town . I loved the Siracha fry sauce and the tartar sauce was tasty as well . I would absolutely eat at at this truck again and i look forward to my next encounter with them . I just wish they were around more often ! Thank you for bringing decent fish and chips to town, its been a long time coming......... i live close to Salt Lake City , Utah and that is where i went to order my food . I am so beyond Happy ! read more

I cant believe I am following this stupid truck around like some sort of crack head. I don't know what they put in the batter but it is something amazing. Check this place out! read more

First time trying out "On the Hook Fish and Chips" today. They were in Fort Collins, Colorado. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I was a little concerned about the price initially ($14 per meal +tax) but they put those concerns to rest for good. I'm a big guy, but both my wife and I were stuffed after we ate our fish & chips. The tartar sauce is every bit as good, if not better, than Bookbinder's (my favorite brand until now) and if you like spicy they include a Sriracha sauce & mayo blend that absolutely compliments their food. The fish batter is tasty and light but not salty (we don't like fish that is fried in a massive greasy bunch of breading). Nothing was overly greasy or salty. The fries were kind of like a steak fry cut (not shoestring) and were super crispy just the way I love them. I've had fried fish served where the tray or wrapper underneath it would be dripping in oil and your fingers would be smelling like grease the rest of the day. Not the case here. Instead, the recyclable cardboard container that the food was served in remained DRY throughout my lunch! Very impressive. We can't wait to eat these fish & chips again and hopefully we'll be able to bring along some friends next time so we can introduce more people to the excellent food and super-friendly service. read more

after hearing such great things about it I tried it out and it's actually not great, at all.

This is my second review today, but totally worth my time. I heard they were good so they sent me emails when they were in the Colorado Springs area. They were in Fountain today so I went there after running errands, 16 miles, but it was totally worth it. Best fish and chips ever. Great Wild caught Alaskan Cod, and the best fries (chips) I've possibly ever had. It is a little more expensive, but nothing ridiculous, and absolutely worth it....no skimpy pieces, and no pre-fab stuff that "looks" like fish, this is the real deal. It's the only thing on the menu, but you can get extra fish or chips, which I will do next time. It makes it suitable to take home and add your favorite drink and sides, which is what I planned to do, unfortunately it was all gone when I got home, with no one to blame but me. Good stuff! It's really too good to mess around with other items that might take away from this fish & chips experience. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes fish. Counting down until they come back to the Springs. read more

Always eger to go when they are in town. Alaskan cod is WAY better than other cod. That is why it is pricy. My son, who lives in Alaska, occasionally catches it. I love that it is HOT, crisp and the batter does not detract from this wonderful fish. The chips are crisp and delicious and I love the Sriracha mayo. read more

Truck was in Grand Junction, CO today. First time ordering from them. We enjoy it, fish was good, not greasy. However, I didn't like the fries; my wife did. They give you tartar sauce and Sriracha Mayo; I I use neither. Maybe offer your customers cocktail sauce instead of mayo. Truck only served fish and chip, was $12.96, not $9.00 like it shows on the menu posted on line. read more

My first instinct was to turn right around and leave because of the incredibly worthless customer service! The guy taking orders just stared at me-no smile, no "how are you?", no "how can I help you?". I finally said "Hi, are you going to take my order?" He answers in a smart ass way, "Yeah, I'm gonna take your order". Since there's no menu and he offered no help, I assumed they just had one choice-and no drinks, which I later found out wasn't the case. I ordered, and 10 minutes later, even though I'm the only one there, he screams out my name. I picked up my order and, again, not a smile or a thank you. I mumbled a weak thank you - thinking that might trigger something in him, but nope! About the food - I really enjoyed the fish, nice crispy batter and a perfect mild taste. Not enough tartar sauce for 3 pieces of fish though. The fries were tasty as well. I would go back -but they have got to step up their customer service! There is no way I would tip them with their lack of even the most basic people skills! read more

tried for the first time tonight in northglenn colorado. soooo good! i was amazing. definitely will buy these fish dinners again
