Worst customer service ever! dinners asked for no gravy got tons of gravy. Also on the menu it says it comes with cranberry sauce and we got no cranberry sauce. When we called the restaurant, the manager said it was DoorDash's fault. Interesting I thought DoorDash was just a delivery service. I didn't realize that they actually were responsible for what goes into a meal in a Styrofoam package.. never order from this restaurant again. The manager was terribly rude and very unreasonable. She told us we could come down and pick up the cranberry sauce if . Funny that's we service. Don't patronize this Update: after sending an email to Country Kitchen I received a follow up phone call with an apology. It was good to know that somebody there cares. Some really delicious food and coffee and super service! I got the turkey dinner and thought it was top notch. My husband got the cordon bleu skillet and thought it was tasty and unique. Good Lord this was the absolute worst experience. No joke. I almost didn't write this review as I dread reliving it. We get there about 8:00am on a Saturday. They were moderately busy. They sat us immediately and in a few minutes our server came by and took our drink order. She was friendly. I ordered iced tea with lemon and my husband had coffee. The tea was for real not drinkable. It must've been a weird brand of fountain tea because it was really, really bad. They never brought lemon. I asked her to switch it out for a coke. She then asked me what kind of coke...sprite, root beer, etc. Ya OK. I want a coke. She still didn't get it. Smh... I ordered Eggs Benedict, add avocado. Husband ordered eggs over medium, pancakes and bacon. Sounds delish right??! Well let me tell you about it!!! My eggs Benedict had no English muffins and no ham. I don't know what they brought me to be honest. There was hash browns, some weird sauce, no ham, pieces of a broken up fried chicken strip, egg...and my add avocado was literally four tiny chunks that looked wet like someone licked them all over then spit them into the little dish. I could not eat even a bite. Nope, nah, uh uh. My husband's bacon was wrapped in hair. F'real. Loooong black hair. Now that is gag worthy. It was literally wrapped around the bacon a time or two. We told our server our issues, she got a manager. We told the manager the issues and told her we aren't paying for this, we don't want it or anything else and we left. Never, ever again. Never. This place was right up my alley. After flying into Bismarck, North Dakota earlier in the day, I was ultimately heading to Theodore Roosevelt National Park (a lifelong goal of mine to visit every NP in the US) while deciding to stop for the evening in Dickinson. Looking for a place to find for dinner, I decided to choose Country Kitchen....and as the name states....it oozes straightforward country fair. I genuinely appreciate restaurants like these that offer basic, hearty, American comfort food. Being someone who grew up in bustling New York and currently residing in highly populated Florida....traveling all the way to small town Dickinson, North Dakota was an out of the ordinary and highly gratifying experience for me. I felt very far from home and I liked it! Sitting down at Country Kitchen...it's got the cozy diner feel with a cool rustic aura. Even from the outside of the restaurant....you just know what this place is all about. If I could, I'd come here every evening just for the small town quiet vibe this diner exudes. The menu just about has it all. Anything you can think of from a classic American diner menu. It's got pages of items to select from. There were plenty of dinners I could have picked, the menu was that extensive. Instead of naming all the menu options, I'll just say I ordered the BBQ Ribs and Chicken Dinner. What I liked about this was that it gave me an opportunity to try little of everything...sort of like a sampler type dish. I got 4 BBQ ribs combined with a chicken breast slathered in BBQ sauce. It came with 2 side items all for $12.49...a good deal. I chose mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy. And with all dinners, you get 2 side items. The food tasted great. The BBQ sauce was authentic....the ribs were slow cooked and fall off the bone, the chicken was moist, the vegetables were just okay, but the mashed potatoes and gravy were a nice compliment to the meal. Everything you'll find is priced just right. Nothing is too expensive. Besides how much I enjoyed sitting down and appreciating the effortless country diner feel here, my waitress and the staff were welcoming and friendly....just as I would have expected. I would have returned here the following night had it not been for all the travelling I had ahead of me. Reading prior Yelpers reviews conveying how disappointing the Country Kitchen was for them...for myself I couldn't have asked for much better. Food is mediocre in general, which is fine. The restaurant itself is clean and typical family dining. Prices are reasonable. Major downside is the service. They are so focused on DoorDash fulfillment that dining in is a joke. Multiple attempts to dine in has always resulted in us walking out an hour later without ever getting our food. After being told that we were staying the entire weekend in Dickinson because our truck was in the shop, we decided on the La Quinta and I was thrilled to find out that it had a restaurant on site. I'm usually wary of places that have "country" in the title as we eat at a lot of Country Pride's. We never actually ate inside of the restaurant but we did order our food "to-go" 4 times. Each time I called, I was warmly greeted and was treated friendly and my order was taken quickly. I was a little upset to find out that they did not take to-go orders on Sunday but I assumed they're busy. I ordered the steak and shrimp the first two times and asked for my steak to be cooked "medium". It was cooked perfectly! I have to admit, I was shocked. It was juicy, tender and was lightly seasoned. My shrimp were humongous and crispy. I decided to go with the mashed potatoes and baked apples as my two sides. I would have preferred white gravy but the brown was just as good. The baked apples were just like the ones from Cracker Barrel! Delicious. My husband had the meatloaf and as he sat down to eat it, he looked at me and said "wow, this is homemade!" He loved it and I'm pretty sure he scarfed it down in seconds. Get the mashed potatoes with this...it's a perfect combination. We also ordered breakfast twice and the bacon was phenomenal. Seriously, cooked perfect. The biscuits and gravy were also spot on. Much better than the breakfast that the La Quinta offered. I was pretty impressed with the Country Kitchen as I was not expecting decent food based on the Yelp reviews. Get a slice of the apple pie, for sure. My only request? Offer dinner rolls with meals, white gravy for the mashed potatoes and beer! Looking forward to my next stop in Dickinson! read more

Seems to be an average country type diner. My family and I have been a few times now for breakfast and haven't really had any complaints but weren't ever really wowed either. The staff is ok, they seem to be good at their jobs but not super friendly. They are there to get your order, check on you once or twice and then take your money, not much for being friendly. If our one year old son wasn't such a cute flirt I don't think we would've seen many smiles from any of he waitresses. Usually at places like this one I can always rely on good hash and eggs but I must say the hashbrowns were terrible! Aside from that though I have no complaints; I really enjoyed the country fried steak...it had a good crisp to it, tender inside and the gravy is pretty good. Went in for breakfast around 9. I stood quite a while waiting to be seated so I sat down on a bench seat and waited. After 5 minutes I stood up again trying to get their attention. Many female employees along with a young man (assumed he may be a manager as he was wearing a button down shirt as opposed to the red wait staff shirt) were gathered around the cash register area visiting. One of the waitresses started walking towards me while she was putting food in her mouth, but she turned around and went back to the cash register. I ended up walking to the cash register and asked to be seated. Once seated my order was taken promptly and the food came quickly. I ordered biscuits and gravy and a side of ham. The flavor was good, but the gravy was very light on sausage. My whole serving only had 3 small bits. read more
