We used to think Applebees was a good place until we ate at the Dickinson North Dakota location. We ordered the Fiesta Chicken meal. Our food was so salty it was almost inedible but we were hungry and I just drank a lot of water. The waitress was nice but seemed insincere when we expressed our dismay. She asked if we wanted to talk to the manager and I said yes. The manager came out and we told him about the high salt levels in the food, he seemed concerned but I suspect he thought we were looking for free food. No not true. She got in a verbal argument with one of the customers, swearing across the bar, the middle aged couple left and the manager didn't really seem to know what to do so I left. We had dinner here and it was quite busy but not wait to be seated. We were quickly seated in a booth and our waitress Lady was attentive and served us quickly. The food was well prepared typical Apple bee fair. The new watermelon lemonade flavor is a great addition. The kids menu kept our kids entertained long enough for the food to arrive. It's your typical Applebees Chain Restaurant. As we entered the establishment we encountered a waitress that didn't acknowledge that we were even at the Hostess Stand, she could have said "Welcome" someone will be with you shortly, just walked by like we didn't exist. The nice thing is the Host did show up as he had been cleaning tables, to accommodate more customers, he was pleasant, friendly and very helpful. We got seated immediately, of course he had to wipe down the table and chairs as they were dirty from previous customers. Our waitress (Sandra S) was a pure pleasure, very attentive and helpful. She wanted to make sure we had a pleasurable dining experience. The Asian Chicken Salad was good, Crispy Chicken was a little overdone or had been sitting in a warmer dish in the kitchen to long but again I understand. Trisha, always has a smile on her face and is so friendly. Mariah goes above and beyond and always has a smile on her face. Because of those 3 Applebee's will be my place to be. Restaurant is in a great location. When we first walked in we were "greeted" by a lady who I think might've been on her lunch break because she had a mouth full of food. She looked at my wife and I and with a straight face just said "2?" The server was friendly. Our fries had a hair on it. The burger and wings were great. The fiesta lime chicken was not so good. Went to Applebee's for dinner and didn't find a single, solitary vegan menu item. I can't fault this particular restaurant for giving a significant constituency the short shrift since that's a corporate issue, though. We decided just to have tortilla chips and a beer; the total came to $18.50, which is hugely overpriced, especially since ¾ of the chips were tiny, broken bits. The floor was littered with napkins, the restroom had broken fixtures; all in all this restaurant gives off the vibe that management is just barely keeping things going. Unfortunately they need to retrain all staff especially the male host who is rude. I was there on Friday celebrating but my afternoon was ruined by a male host who was rude to us after I asked if I could be seated elsewhere. Then he seemed to be nicer to people who were white so I'm not sure if he was just racist. I placed my order with the server who was nice but the host started cleaning the table next to us by throwing dishes around and looking at us with anger. When I asked to speak to the manager I quickly realized the host was related to the manager because they looked like each other a lot. I showed the manager another review about a rude male host assuming he must be the same person because it was the same situation. Applebees is pretty average but this is surprisingly one I remember for being even less than that. Staff was pretty meh. Dirty tables. Sorry counters. Sat at the bar and had an appetizer and a few beers. Bar keep was nice enough but as I said it certainly wasn't your "friendly neighborhood spot." Guess it's a chain people recognize. Oil workers need to eat and it's no super pricey. But apart from it's location or other businesses being full I don't see why anyone would frequent this place. read more

Eaten here 3 times. Last 2 were sh#$. They gave giftcard for trip 3. Tom the manager came , sat down while we were starting to eat. Gave his life story and preceded to insult my 14yr. old great niece about have low self esteem, because her hair was pink(doing it for attention.)Made her embarrased as hell. Told my niece and I we must also have low self esteem as we both had tattoo. Then I showed him our meal was burn as it was not eaten. Then he said his wife was a woman of color and he only time he deals with white women when he is at work, blamed not have immigrants there to work for our service and poorly made meal. Aren't his comments rude and a lot racist toward white women in general but also judgemental towards women with tattoos. Worst service I've ever had! Would seriously rate negative stars if I could. Waited 15-20 minutes for menus, waiter Andre was absolutely awful. One lady had to get her own menus, 2 ladies waiting at least 15-20 minutes got up and left beca of no menus. The fries were coated in salt and pepper, like someone dumped both on top. We have tried going there several times over the years but finally stopped as we realized it was progressively getting worse. I would literally rate negative stars for the experience I just had. Walked in and was seated at the bar, came for a ribeye steak and a beer. This place looked nice and the staff was really friendly, but I feel that the food is overpriced especially considering the quality of it. The chips were stale, the toppings for the nachos were all cold and not much on it, and the chicken was hard, like it had been reheated multiple times. I got a mango lemonade and they charged an extra 40 cents for a gummy candy on top I didn't even ask for. Wouldn't stop there in the future. read more

This is an Applebee's, but quite frankly it is the most bland food I've ever had at an Applebee's. I assume it has removed all seasoning from the food for North Dakota like everywhere else here has done. Seriously, North Dakotans think mayonnaise is spicy. The food aside, I ordered a tall bud light with my dinner and when it came to the table I noticed a rather large piece of glass in the bottom of the glass. I sent it back and the waitress brought out another beer, also with a piece of broken glass in the bottom. I called the Manager over brought the situation to his attention, he apologized and he brought me a beer with yes; a piece of glass in the bottom in it. I used to go here often as Dickinson doesn't have many options for restaurants. Needless to say I'm not impressed. The service is good if you get a good waiter. Otherwise the service is horrible. I'm writing this review on the behalf of customers using your debit/credit cards at your own risk. I forgot my wallet on the table somehow one evening. I realized it was missing the following evening. I called the only place that I went after work that day to see if it was there... yes it was at Applebee's. No one called me to say that I had forgotten my wallet however... hmmm. I raced to go and pick it up and when I got there the hostess said rudely that the manager wasn't there and they didn't have the keys to the office. I demanded my wallet and they wouldn't give it to me. I waited for almost a half hour until the manager got back to the building (wherever they were before) to give me my wallet. This was a Friday I got my wallet back. By the following Tuesday I had CREDIT CARD FRAUD!!!! I highly believe that this had something to do with my wallet being held and the shady people there. I would like to give this place a MINUS (-) 4 STARS but I can't. If I ever eat at this Applebee's it would be a miracle . The worst food I have ever eaten in my whole life (maybe McDonald's would have been better).We weren't out for a special occasion but we weren't going cheap either. I ordered the 12oz steak and they bought me two six ounce pieces that look like and tasted like someone cut the bottom of their shoe and cooked. My husband ordered the baby back ribs and they were any thing but fall off the bone. We complained to someone who we thought was the manager, he was definitely either not the manager or he is the WORST manager of corporate dining. To his credit he did return one of my 6oz pieces because I couldn't even touch it. When it came back raw I was done. My husband ribs were so tough he could barely get them off the bone at all. The "manager" only compensated our sodas and one appetizer for all our food being crap. I have been to an Outback Steakhouse where I sent one thing back and they compensated our entire meal for 6 people and also gave us $80 in gift cards to give them another chance.
