If you get the runaround about receiving the title for a bike you purchased from this dealership, file a complaint with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles immediately. No reason at all for the process to take more than 30 days after the sale unless financed. The dealership then has 45 days. I purchased a bike from them on January 3, 2026, using a fully paid-off trade-in with a clean Texas blue title. As of May 28, 2026, I still do not have the title for the bike I bought. I filed a complaint with the Texas DMV back in March, and only after their involvement was I able to get my registration. The DMV also contacted Mandi, who finally submitted the paperwork to transfer the title. Her paperwork was rejected twice before finally being accepted. I am also aware of at least two other complaints filed through the Texas DMV involving similar issues. Dealerships are required to transfer titles in a timely manner, so do not let them blame the state for delays. The state is not the issue here. Folks this is the same outfit as On The Boarder Motorcycle. RUN THE OTHER WAY! Hence the name Discount Motorcycle Tires. They are terrible at tire installation and customer service. They replaced two new tires and 600 miles later, I had a flat and was left stranded 120 miles from nearest shop. $1,500 later for a tow and a new tire, it was discovered the reason for the rear tire to loose air was a corroded air stem valve breaking apart. I called Discount Motorcycle Tires and their response was quote "It's your fault, you didn't ask us to check the air valve stem" in my opinion air valves are part of tire service and by default should be inspected and replaced. it's a $3-$5 dollar item and a safety issue. We are on two wheels not four. Most people would not mind the extra cost and it takes the tech 1-2 minutes to change out. Seriously folks be careful taking your bike to this place, the excuse they gave me and then accusing me of causing the tire install failure is a reflection of how you will be treated and the work they do. Most of the staff at On The Border are friendly. They have some decent gear for sale and are fairly knowledgeable. I had some bars put on a HD Sportster and while they did an OK job and the price was fair, there were a few quality issues that I had an issue with. The first issue I noticed was that when they disconnected my front brake line, they dripped brake fluid on my black engine guards. Since they clearly didn't wipe it off the paint was damaged and I ended up having to repaint. The second issue is that the new brake line they installed has a sever twist in it. Would it have been so hard to run it correctly? Lastly, instead of running it through the tree, they ran it directly from the lever to the clutch to flop in the wind. These are unacceptable quality issues that show a complete disregard for my motorcycle and make me hesitate to let them touch either of my bikes in the future. read more

i had some work done to my Harley and when I picked up my bike my kick stand sprin was put back on wrong. I told the owner and he told me it was my doing which it was not. the owner was very rude. when I got home I noticed my right side fairing cover was also broke and lighter plug was not workin. Going back tomorrow for ANOTHER temporary tag. This will be the THIRD meaning I am at the start of 7 months waiting on tags and title. No end in site. They blame COVID and the state but the state says there is no backlog. I don't understand what they gain by doing this but there must be something in it for them. On August 27th I purchased a Harley Davidson trike from salesman Jonathan at On The Border Motorcycles . At first they were as nice as can be. A few months later I called to find out where my plates and title were. At first I was told they went to the wrong address. My husband finally went back to the business and they gave him a plate. No title or registration. I kept calling customer service the rest of last year and this year. Customer service tells me a lady by the name of Mandy will call me back. She never does. Instead, a few days later a man by the name of Tom calls me to let me know they are working on it. Keep in mind this has gone on since last year. I have ran my vin# online and it is still titled to someone else. The plates they gave me belong to another bike and person. I have contacted both the attorney general and the BBC. . I am also in contact with a consumer protection attorney. Do not buy anything from this place!!! I want this nightmare to be over!!! I currently have a bike sitting in my garage with no title or property plates that I am paying insurance premiums for. If I could give them no stars I would. read more

On any motorcycle you may want, it would be better to go the actual dealer and look for used bike from them. Don't buy a used Harley from these people. Because you will start out with it being 1000 dollars OVER PRICED immediately and if lets say its a Harley such as a used road king, it will be probably 3000 dollars over priced. They sell stray random junk that has been altered by its previous owners in which destroys the value right away. One of the problems also here with the over procing is because TOO MANY Parties are involved as they are selling for the owner of the bike PLUS adding their amount so they can profit. For whatever bike you want, go to a DEALER and then look in their used selection. I purchased a 2002 softail Harley for 40% less at a Harley dealer than what these people wanted for one. read more

A friend of the family went to these guys to sell his Goldwing Trike and this place sold it for him alright. They sold it and kept all the money for selling it. All $21,000 of it. He's been going back and forth for 3 months with them and has received $8,000 of it back but that's still $13,000 that these guys have kept for themselves. This may not speak for the rest of their business but some aspects of this place are definitely shady as hell, so if you go there, do so cautiously and DON'T use them to sell. read more

I have actually sold 3 bikes through this dealership. Every sell went smoothly and was treated excellent by the owners and by the office girls. Been doing business with them since they were located on Shaver. One sell did take a lil longer to get paid ,but the pruchaser had financed, and all of that was explained to me at the time of sell, ....heck ,Mike(salesman) even went over all that on the consignment form when I dropped of my Ultra Classic. Each time only 300 bucks too cant beat that! I will continue to do business with them in anytime I buy or sell, and recommend it to anyone! It's been gone 6 weeks but someone else is enjoying my bike and I still don't have my money. Joe said it could take a month cause of the delay in getting title transferred and they wouldn't get their money from bank till then and I would have to wait for mine till after that deposit is made. Placed my 2008 Harley Davidson Screaming Eagle Ultra Class on consignment. Never was told it was sold. Noticed it was not listed on their web site and went to the store. Tom said it was sold but it would take time to send the funds to my lien holder. A month has past and still no payoff. Mandy the financial person said she was unable to contact the lien holder. While on the phone with Mandy I used my two way and had my lien holder's representative speak with Mandy. I heard my lien holder's representative give Mandy all the pertinent information to payoff my loan. Again after two weeks no payoff. Now Mandy do not return any of my calls. She is always a way from her desk, not in, out to lunch, or she will call me back. Tom is so full of game and speak so fast that everything he said come out of the side of his neck. Last time I spoke with Tom he said it would take an additional 30 to 60 days to payoff my loan with the money he has already received.
