Very aesthetic vibes and the cocktails are good. I'm not particularly fan of the food (it wasn't bad but wasn't excellent) and service can be better.
Came here on a Friday night and had such a fun experience. The space has a great after dark vibe with dim lighting and neon accents, cozy but still lively. We ordered the oden set with yogurt soju, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the salmon fried udon with uni sauce. Everything was super comforting and flavorful, especially the oden on a cold night. What really made it stand out was the bingo game. It got the whole bar involved and made the night feel more interactive and social. We ended up chatting with a group nearby and even taught them a Malaysian yam seng cheers, which turned into a really fun moment. Great spot for a lively night out with good food and energy. Would come back.
Nights at On/Off Toronto Restaurant & Bar really do hit different. Atmosphere The moment I walked in, the neon glow and low lighting instantly set the mood. It felt cozy but still lively, the kind of place where you just know the night is going to be good. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I honestly had such a great time being there. Food & DrinksI ordered the Spicy Beef Udon Noodle, the Chef's Secret Pork Taco, and two cocktails : Bourbon Old Fashion / Sleepless in Tokyo .Everything came out beautifully presented, and you could tell care was put into each dish. The textures were spot on across the board, and each bite felt satisfying and well-balanced. The cocktails paired perfectly with the food and were easy to enjoy without being overpowering. Overall, it felt like the kind of place you want to stay longer than planned. Great food, great vibe, great service. Would absolutely come back
OnOff - After-Dark Modern Asian Bar Neon lights, low-lit energy, and way better food than a bar should have. This is my go-to late-night spot for chill hangs, spontaneous dates, or when one drink turns into a whole night. Tiramisu cocktail : dessert in a glass. Creamy, smooth, lightly boozy, and dangerously easy to finish. Perfect nightcap energy. Cold drunken chicken stole the show: clean, authentic, perfectly seasoned, and the kind of dish you think about later. Chinese-style poutine with mapo tofu goes hard: bold, comforting, and full of flavour. Salmon fried udon w/ uni sauce:rich, silky, creamy without being heavy. Chef's secret pork taco: playful, modern fusion that just works.
First time trying this place and personally I did not enjoy the food as much. My favourite dish was the Chinese style poutine but the rest of the food I tried was okay. The service was good, with very friendly staff. The restaurant itself looks very nice with lots of neon signs and dark lighting that created a cool atmosphere while dining.
Had a great night out at this spot, the food consisted of Asian fusion bar bites, loved the creativity in the cocktails! They were also really pretty. Such a great spot uptown for a night owl with some fun drinks and good vibes.
This was a fun looking bar with bright neon decor. It's not a big space but it has a few tables and small bar top. Didn't order any of their drinks but saw some from other tables that looked pretty good. We tried the salmon fried udon which was okay but something about the combination of the smoked salmon flavours with the cream sauce was a little off. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was decent and crispy but nothing special. The corn cheese pizza which was Korean cheese corn on a scallion pancake was pretty good. I preferred the corn without the pancake however. The Chinese style poutine was the best dish. It had good flavour and the fries and meet were seasoned well. Overall, I wasn't as impressed by the food as I thought I'd be, however the dishes are different and bring a fun twist on Asian dishes so if you wanna try something different I would give this place a try.
Came here to try their "Day Menu" from 11am to 6pm. All the main dishes are around $14. We had the Fried chicken omurice and gyudon (beef rice). The Gyudon was kind of disappointing. The beef was very tough and the flavour wasn't anything special. The fried chicken was very crispy, juicy and tastey! The omurice was pretty much just a scrambled egg on fried rice which was pretty comforting. We also had a grapefruit cocktail and mojito. We liked that they weren't loaded with sugar and were quite refreshing. Unfortunately there were A LOT of flies and fruit flies flying around the restaurant from the night prior's sugary beverages. I think this place would do well with a bug zapper or may be deeper cleaning.
Friday night, girls' night. Glad we found here! We went in around 6:30 - we were taken to bar counter seats, as their tables are all booked. Initially, I wanted table seat but soon after, I felt lucky to be seated at the bar counter. It was such an opportunity, especially at ON/OFF! From the bar counter, I can see how the bartender is creating cocktails. He was mixing sprits with precision and detail for each drink, constantly checking aroma and taste. The bartender was also interested in my preference. He was eager to know customer's needs (type of spirit, boozier, sweeter, more citrus, amount of ice etc), and created something that was specially perfect for me. He even showed what he put by pulling out the bottles in front of me behind the counter, and gauged it carefully and put it in my drink. It made me want to learn more about those spirits. He was happy to discuss his craft and share his knowledge. Very stimulating. I enjoyed this interaction only when before this place got busier. Gosh this place was packed - we exited around 9:30 and there were people lining up outside. I was lucky. I felt that this already skilled/experienced bartender was eager to develop creative recipes through the interactions of customers - humble attitude, politeness and creativity - that wes thhe thing I appreciated most. The food was great, too. We had: - Pan fried beef tongue - Deep fried squid I did not expect much when I ordered the food (as my focus was on cocktails) but they were surprisingly good. Squid was tender and juicy. Beef tongue was tender and thick-cut. Will definitely come back again. Hopefully soooooon!
Loved the vibes at this spot, their drinks are quite strong and I loved the Chinese style poutine!
Amazing cocktail bar! Been here a few times for drinks, it's a great spot for cocktails and food! The bar has a dimly lit, neon nightlife vibe. The tables all have mahjong tile lights that illuminate the table softly, but very sufficiently. The vibes are very much that of the big 4 popular Asian bars/clubs downtown, but provide more of an intimate setting to chat with friends or a date. For the ladies: Tuesdays are ladies' night! All cocktails are 50% off, and now appetizers are 50% off as well! The cocktails here are all amazing! They have many classic cocktails, but also a wide menu of their own creations. Every single one of them are delicious but also SOOO pretty--which makes them dangerous. Fair warning that most (if not all) of their house cocktails are sweet--stick to their classics if you are looking for low-sugar options. I was also really impressed by the food here, considering this place is more known as a cocktail bar. The service is a bit slow for food, but if you aren't hungry then it's totally fine. Their snacks are quite unique and are all very tasty--also so many shareables! I always have a fantastic time here and haven't tried a drink or food I didn't enjoy. Definitely stop by for the evidently crowded summer evenings!
The food is yummy and sharing bites. They play rap and they host private events as well! it's dark inside with cool interior
Dined on a Saturday night , restaurant was full. Our drinks came timely with the wasabi octopus. However, the restaurant was busy so we waited a while for the rest of the food. We were sat 7:50 and waited till 8:40 for everything else. They did give us complimentary sunflower seeds to munch on while we waited, and we finished it all lol. The drinks were $15 each, the blue blue sky was good. The food was good as well, the pork tacos and the chicken wings were my favourites. For a date night, we spent roughly $94 for about 5 dishes, a drink, and a bottle of beer. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. They were also apologetic that they were running behind. They also had a promotion of free shots per follow in Instagram. Pretty cool! I'm a believer of second chances so we'll try them again and hope that it was only a bad Saturday night.

This was the first Chinese "Izakaya" we've been to and we were pleasantly surprised. Firstly, we loved the ambience of the place and the music selection. Definitely sets the mood as a good late night spot. The customer service here is also fantastic - everyone was so welcoming and courteous! We ended up ordering their recommendations, with 3/4 being new menu items. Our personal favourites were the pork tacos and the cheese corn pizza. The highlight of On/Off though are their unique drinks. We highly recommend their new Matcha Latte cocktail! read more

I ordered the creamy curry udon and also tried the beef udon! I have not had noodles this good. I keep thinking about them lol. I also tried the sangria and their drink of the day which was featured rose and Prosecco, was fantastic. The service was great, they were very attentive, and we're super helpful. In terms of ambience, I completely loved the vibe of the place. They had really cool neon signs, and the best music hip hop music playing! Thank you so much I can't wait to come back read more

I went to this late night bar around Yonge/Finch area with my friends on a Thursday night. It was fairly busy but the service was still great! I loved the vibe and decoration (mahjong tiles, neon lights) of this place. Overall, food was great and innovative! Would love to see more menu options This is what we ate: B3 ONOFF Taco Taco shells were so crispy and there was so much filling. C1 Guanguan Oden (Seafood) This is my comfort food, the soup and the oden was tasty and this was very enjoyable. D3 Truffle Fries Wish the truffle taste was a bit strong but the fries had great texture. Multiple Cocktails They have many selections of cocktails and they are all so pretty and colourful! read more

ON/OFF is a relatively new izakaya that opened its doors back in April. While they offer a variety of delicious & creative drinks, they also offer East Asian dishes that have a modern twist to them! Aside from their food & drinks, they also have all the vibes! This is the perfect place for a late-night outing with friends or a date :) While waiting for your drinks & food to arrive, feel free to snack on the complimentary sunflower seeds at your table! We tried their: Creamy Curry Udon Noodles We've tried this before and came back to have it again! The udon never disappoints, as it's cooked to perfection every time--QQ and chewy. The udon noodles are mixed into a strong curry-flavoured sauce, that's balanced nicely with a bit of sweetness and spice. ONOFF Poutine (new item) This was a SOLID dish (both in flavour & texture). The fries were so crispy (similar to Costco's style) and covered in an addicting cheesy meat & tofu sauce--umami with a small kick of spice. ONOFF Taco (new item) We saw almost every table get this, so we had to try! The taco shell was freshly fried & very crispy (we think it's deep fried rice paper?) The taco contained ground beef, white onions, tomatoes, and cilantro, and was topped of with a sauce. The little bit of sourness and spice worked very well to give contrast to the saltiness of the meat. New Gin-based Pineapple Cocktail (will update when we find out the name!) Cheers to new cocktails on the menu! This new, eye-catching cocktail has the prettiest layers!! The bottom layer is a mix of Lillet and pineapple, orange, and lemon juice. They then top this off with gin from Empress 1908 Gin, which gives it that beautiful purple layer. Overall, this drink was sweet and you get a hint of pineapple with every sip. It tasted a tiny bit stronger than their popular Blue Blue Sky cocktail. read more

Come check out @onofftoronto ! This Chinese Izakaya offers a modern twist on East Asian Cuisine with a wide variety of drinks! Can't forget to mention the amazing decor with the traditional lanterns, Chinese calligraphy, and much more! We had the Typhoon Shelter Chicken Wings (inspired by Hong Kong's famous Typhoon Shelter Crab) Secret Chicken Crispy Bone Wasabi Octopus Creamy Curry Udon Noodles (my favourite ) My favourite has to be the creamy udon noodles & the savoury chicken wings! For drinks, we had a colour gin and pineapple drink, and the other.... you will have to ask the server was pretty tipsy by the end of the night! Would definitely recommend @onofftoronto for a date night or a night out with friends! There is a wide variety of late night food choices and drinks for everyone! read more

The best part about this place was the vibe. The decor they used and the theme of a Chinese Izakaya were so well done and left me speechless. To add to that atmosphere, I also have to say the food was also great! I had the Unagi on Rice and Popcorn chicken and everything was delicious. The service was also amazing and they responded quickly to all of our requests. read more

Came here on a Tuesday night and instantly greeted by one of the waitresses. The ambience of this place is a vibe and the decor has a modern/urban vide (Asian/HipHop Inspo). Started off with a drink each, the summer crush and enchanted rose. The summer crush is gin infused and had grapefruit in it (super refreshing). The enchanted rose was beautifully made and definitely taste the alcohol in it, but not too strong. We ordered the Chinese poutine which had a really nice Chinese spice, o think it's five spice... Anyways, definitely different and well thought out. We ordered the typhoon chicken wings which were hot and fresh, super crispy, and loaded with fried garlic. Last on the list is the creamy smoked salmon udon with uni. Very rich in its flavours, and you would think the smoked salmon would overpower the dish but it's definitely brings it together. If you're looking to come here with some friends in the evening, it's definitely a vibe. Also, the playlist is fire whoever makes the playlist is up to date with their hiphop. read more

I recently visited On/Off and was blown away by the food and cocktails. The atmosphere is fun and lively, with the playlist being mostly old school hip hop! I ordered x2 different cocktails from their fall menu (1 plum based and 1 gin based cocktail!) which were delicious. Also ordered the corn pizza, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, pork tacos, and little beef skewers. The food was amazing! Perfect little snacks but still left feeling full. I also love that they give you roasted sunflower seeds at the beginning of your meal. The decor is very picture-esque - I can't wait to come back! read more

This place has an amazing ambiance, I was greeted and checked on throughout my visit. They give sunflowers seeds, which was nice to have and snack on! I got the beef skewers which were a 10/10 the flavour was amazing and the beef was really tender. I also got the Typhoon Chicken wings and I'd rate them an 7/10 the wings were fatty and could use some more flavour but they were really crispy. The drinks were also really good! I'd recommend this spot if you happen to be on Yonge St. read more
