I did not realize in they had a policy that one needs to give a 10 day notice before vacating otherwise you get charge for an entire extra month even if you're out by the end of the current month. No discount or proration offered when I asked. They say it was in the contract I signed (again three years ago) so they can't do anything about it. "Thanks for your $20,000+ over the past three years. Now F*** off!" is basically what they just said. I hope that last $650 was worth it! Folks considering this place, take this info and do with it what you will. They sure were helpful to include the link to give them Yelp and Google reviews sure made it easier for me to post this.

Well I'm here to set the record straight! I've known these folks for years and have always had the best interactions with them. They're always courteous, go out of their way to be helpful, and certainly never raise their voice or scream at anyone. I don't know what axe the vicious reviewer has to grind, but I urge anyone considering storing their belongings at Prolock to do so with the greatest of confidence. It's just so nice to have a business actually answer the phone, not to mention take their time to answer all questions and concerns. They make you feel like you really matter. That's an A+ in my book!

Public Storage offered, as an inducement to sign up, the 2nd month free…read more After I signed up, before moving anything, I requested a larger space (10 x 30) at a higher rate & subsequently moved all my stuff in. Nothing was said about the special deal not being available for the larger space. After I was billed for the 2nd month rent - called & disputed due to promise of 2nd month free & was told that the special only applied to "new" customers. I explained I was a new customer because I never moved anything into the smaller unit (10' x 20'). Public Storage referred me to "corporate" customer service which was not helpful. They have refused to honor the inducement of 2nd month free. Get any promises in writing BEFORE you move all your stuff in.

Why one star? Extremely shady business model. I was there around 5 months when my $108 per month…read morestirage was jacked up to $158 with no notification, no reason, nothing. If you're able to get ahold of anyone to talk with (good luck, there's nobody around ever) they won't know why. I finally got ahold of someone who could tell me why after much effort and run around. I was told the rent is based on "market analysis"; some vague formula involving how much demand there is, market fluctuations, moon phases and a bunch of other lies that boiled down to them knowing moving your stored items is such a hassle that you'll just cave and stay. Any of these 5 star ratings are bots or payed for. Anytime the ratings are only 5 stars or 1 star, beware. The only redeeming quality is the units on Stoll Rd. in Olympia WA are kept clean.

We check on his stuff when we visit Olympia a couple times a year. Recently we were there and everything is as we left it, which is a great relief to me since I'm kind of the reason it's all in storage. The facilities are immaculate, the security is top-notch, and the prices are totally reasonable. The customer service is also really great and the owner will help find you the best unit for the best price. Nothing beats a family-run, local business. They run lots of deals too. We'll probably move my boyfriend's stuff out here sometime in the near future, but at least for now we know it's super safe.
