Marshall, the technician who came out, went thru my entire system and found that it was merely a small condensation valve and line that needed to be cleared out. He completed that job in just a few minutes and stayed with me until the house had cooled down from 88 to 78 degrees. This service was a small fraction of the cost of a new compressor. Professional, prompt, caring. How refreshing it is to have an honest vendor tell you the truth and do the job with an eye on long term relationships and not short term profits. Although I was working through my warranty company, I wanted an independent assessment, so I called Zest Plumbing & Drain. The operator asked a few questions and said someone would arrive within two hours. About 45 minutes later, Len Gibbs knocked on my door. Len was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk with. He listened carefully, explained my options, answered my questions, and provided several thoughtful suggestions tailored to my situation. About two hours later, I received a text and an email with the estimates. The estimates were three pages long and included the three options that Len had suggested. Len called back and kindly asked whether I had any questions or wanted to proceed. He also said that if I chose to work with the company, they would be proud to service my house. However, if I could not work with them because of my warranty obligations, they would always be available in the future. I appreciated his understanding and professionalism. Instead, I called another company, which arrived within 30 minutes and identified that the actual issue was a faulty thermostat. They confirmed the "white wire" AZ Perfect Comfort had pointed to wasn't even connected to anything. I am relieved I didn't pay AZ Perfect Comfort $240 to "fix" a non-existent problem. When I requested a refund for their $99.95 diagnostic fee, they refused, so I have disputed the charge with my bank. I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Called Gabe about my leaking water heater. Was able to speak with him quickly about a replacement…read moregas 40 gal. tank. He had me go to Lowes (online) and order the replacement unit, so I wasn't paying a markup from the installer. He picked up the unit from Lowes and just charged for the install. The advantage in this is you can chose the unit you want by quality and price. Units with longer warranties will cost more, probable between 6 to 12 years, so you get to decide what best for you without a installer charging a big markup. I was able to was my military discount for 10 % off. Another advantage is you are the one purchasing the unit. If there is a problem with the unit in the future you can go back to the manufacturer or Lowes (who I have found to be very good at backing up their sales). If your installer provides the unit he may not be in business in 9 to 10 years. Install was completed quickly. I had three other quotes before calling Gabe. Working with One Shot was 20% less then the next lowest bid and half the price of the highest bid. Will use them again for any plumbing issues.
