This was my second time dinning here. Had the Eggplant Parmesan. It was excellent flavor-wise, and had a very good texture. Would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a top notch eggplant. The pasta was good as well, and the sauce was good, not runny at all, and had good cling. The bruschetta was a little better than average, but nothing to complain about. Excellent service. Being from New Jersey every Italian resturaunt I can think of has salad and bread included with a dinner entree. The first time we went here ( only 2 of us ) we were not offered bread and it was on the menu as an additional item. The second time we went here ( three of us ) we were offered bread, however I did not get the check so i am unsure if there was an added cost. Italian is considered a food easy to copy, but also have go very wrong. Too often imbalanced flavor profiles lead to meals which are either unmemorable or memorable for all the wrong reasons. First, let me tell you what went right - 1) The restaurant was clean 2) Service was prompt and courteous though our waiter could have been a little more enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and helpful. 3) They had a gluten free option for our daughter! 4) The pasta was perfectly cooked Sadly, this is a restaurant we cannot see craving for future visits. 1) The meatballs were mealy, strangely sour (like they had yogurt, and fell apart too easily like they were only boiled and not browned before being simmered in the sauce. 2) The sauce was watery, too heavy with garlic and oregano and lacking other key flavors. Tasted like something I would make at home and I'm known for butchering homemade pasta sauce :(. 3.) They skimp on the shredded parmesan in the oil for their bread and offer no other spice blend to go with it. It's OK, but a bit of garlic and rosemary or spicy sun dried tomato seasoning would go well with the EVOO. Now, this last observation isn't really a deal breaker per se since we were there with our kids, but something that does affect the ambiance. TVs in the restaurant detract from what could be a potentially romantic dinner spot. This isn't a a typical pizza joint, nor is it a sports bar. It just made the experience feel a little wonky and disjointed. read more

This is a nice hidden Italian restaurant that we have been meaning to try since we moved to Pickerington. Located in a small shopping center on the corner of blacklick and hill rd this place is easy to miss! We walk in and are greeted with some classic Italian decor and an amazing smell! We were immediately greeted by the hostess and sat at the only open table in the whole place. It's a moderate size restaurant with seating for about 50 people. As soon as we sat we got some waters and some warm bread with a garlic oil dipping side. Adrienne got the local Chardonnay and said it was delicious. I always judge Italian restaurant by their Italian wedding soup and I was not disappointed at all! Very good broth, crisp romaine, and plenty of meatballs! The side salad was great and the Italian dressing tastes home made. Adrienne ended up getting the chicken arabiatta that had eggplant, spinach, spicy tomato sauce, mozzarella, and penne. It was amazing. Everything was so fresh and the servers were so nice. We weren't alone for long as they checked on you often, which is really nice since we ordered a second glass of wine. We wanted Italian, and were planning on going to Scali, but it was getting very close to their closing time and I was thinking there would either be a long wait or we might not get in at all. Really didn't want to settle for Olive Garden, and I remembered seeing a friend's check ins at another Italian restaurant in the area. Thank you Nick D for the excellent find! This isn't a fancy restaurant but the food was fabulous! We ordered shrimp diavolo, Omezzo trio and shrimp scampi. Everything was delicious, but the diavolo sauce was incredible! The service was excellent as well, was great to talk to the chef and hear about how the place started, and that he will prepare items not on the menu by request. I knew I could not leave without trying the tiramisu but didn't have much room left so we split it, and it was every bit as good as I expected. I'm happy to report they do have wine now, apparently they did not until recently. Highly recommended! read more

My wife and I stopped here on a long four day drive from Montana to Gettysburg Pennsylvania. The Restaurant is just a quarter of a mile or so off I 70. I am so glad we stopped... The food was delicious, the owner/chef/waiter was a very nice man. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and it was so much better than one of the "Chain" restaurants that we are so tired of eating at. It was the highlight of our day of 700 miles of driving! Best Italian on the Eastside Not sure why the only picture is of pizza when that's basically a kid option. For adults it's the Pasta all the way and Chef Z is awesome. He checks with tables to make sure you are satisfied and is willing to change the order to what ever you desire. I would give Chef Z a 10 if I could and the restaurant a 8 only because the staff is not motivated to Mrs Z's expectations and have to be told to do something instead of taking the initiative. read more

Another road trip, another lovely local gem. Friendly owners met us at the door and promptly sat us. It's in a strip mall but they've made it into a nice atmosphere for dinner. A Cute Gem in a suburban strip mall Looking for a decent little italian joint to go to with the wife for a kid free night out, i found great reviews for this place on yelp. Decided to give it a try. Omezzo is nestled in a strip mall next to a bar and a goodwill, but don't let that discourage you. Omezzo is fairly tiny and you may have to wait for a table and service but the food certainly makes up for it. The wife and I opted for the Meatball Appetizer. I ordered the Chicken Carbonara Penne and she ordered an alfredo dish. The appetizer bread is served with garlic and oil. It's a very sturdy ciabatta that i could have eaten as my whole meal. The Meatball appetizer came with three golf ball sized meatballs instead of the two listed on the menu swimming in good marinara with a slab of garlic bread on the side. The Meatballs had good texture and flavor. The sauce was great and the garlic bread was wonderful to swab up any of the extra sauce with. My Chicken Carbonara Penne was unlike any carbonara i've had before but that isn't a bad thing. The sauce was almost more a vodka creme with the requisite chicken, bacon, ham and vegetables. the flavor was clean and fresh. Certainly tasted homemade opposed to out of a can or jar. The prices were good and there was great value. The wine list has reds and whites of a good variety by the glass and the bottle. I even found a value Pinot Noir that surprised me. So spent Valentine's Day at Omezzo - our favorite Italian . They were so busy which is awesome to see in our Covid world . Even the next door sister business Omezzo Pasta Bowl to Go had people waiting . Most of the restaurant seemed to be patient and understanding - after all , the owner is the chef ! We just enjoyed our Masi red wine and relaxed . He had shrimp corn chowder as the special soup - delish !!! The shrimp was so tender and not over cooked at all . Then I had the risotto with shrimp and lobster . Risotto is hard to find in central Ohio and when you do find it , so many over Pok it in their attempt to precook and make on the fly . Not Chef Z . His risotto is my favorite and is only a special . So yummy !! Monty had a menu item - shrimp and scallops with artichokes and linguini . As always , everything was great . They also recently updated the menu - so happy to see what previously were highly seafood specials on the menu permanently ! I have also seen a few reviews on here that were poor - I often like to see what else they have reviewed . It's all relative , right ? You won't be disappointed - come here . This place is a stone's throw away from our place but we've never been here before. So when hubby wanted to have pasta I called in a big order for pickup, since we're having family over and by ordering different dishes we can sample a little bit of everything. Let's go over them shall we. First off when I came in the restaurant looked decent. I can't elaborate more since I went straight to the counter for pickup. But I was greeted right when I came to the door so that's a plus. Order was done exactly when they said it'll be done. Everything was piping hot. Another plus. We ordered lasagna, Alfredo, meat sauce, spaghetti meatballs, trio Omezzo, and chicken Parmesan. Chicken Parmesan spaghetti was good. Chicken is tender and juicy and it's a big piece that can be shared. It's got decent flavor too. The Alfredo, both chicken and shrimp, was the biggest hit. The kids liked the shrimp one better but the adults preferred the chicken. It's got the right mix of Parmesan and cream flavor. Next comes the trio omezzo which comes with the lasagna, chicken diavolo and cheese tortellini. I don't remember seeing chicken in the diavolo but there definitely are mushroom. Supposed to be mild spicy but there was no spice, at all. Cheese tortellini was ok, it was cheesy. Lasagna on this dish, and the separate main dish, was not touched. I shouldn't say that. Everyone grabbed a piece, took a bite and just left the rest on their plate. It was bland and nothing close to the lasagna flavor we know, and we are big lasagna eaters. Spaghetti with meat sauce has a lot of meat but not a lot of flavor, pretty basic actually. IMO it could use an extra dash of herbs. I was really hoping this one to be good. The final dish is the spaghetti with meatballs. This was the dish that everyone wanted to get. But like the lasagna it was a huge letdown. Sauce was ok but the meatballs, that are decent sized, are bland. My little one who could eat two of these big sized meatballs only took a bite and didn't touch the rest. One family member even said it was dry. If I just look at the portion size of each dish they are decently portioned, it was big enough to fill you up without you feeling stuffed. But if you're wanting that Italian taste, most of the dishes we had was missing or short of it. With all the positive reviews we we're really hoping this place to be our go-to pasta place. With my Mom on a Sunday @130 and saw the Open sign. We were greeted promptly by the Chef. Chef Z seated us and provided the menus, took our drink order and told us about the daily specials. My Mom ordered the rigatoni with chicken amend marinara. I ordered the Chicken Marsala. Had a short discussion with the Chef about marsala sauce. I prefer the creamy one over the brown. He was willing to make it anyway I wanted. Every dish is made to order including the sauces. I ordered it the way he makes it and said next time I might order it with extra cream. Let me just say it was fabulous and I will order his way from now on. Mom loved her rigatoni. It melted in your mouth. Yum! The bread that was served was fresh and warm served with a olive oil/garlic dipping sauce. We also ordered the wedding soup. Very good. For dessert Chef Z recommended Tiramisu. I don't care for it but he said you will love mine. OMG! It was delicious. Not overpowering with the coffee. Mom and I both agreed we will be back! FYI, the restaurant is only open for dinner. Last night was our family's first time visiting Omezzo. I am a Columbus native, but didn't know where to get non-chain Italian from. I found the restaurant on Yelp, and an so glad that we decided to give it a try. For starters, I had the Lobster bisque... so good! We also had the cheese bread and I had Shrimp Alfredo as an entree. Ya'll are out of your minds charging these High prices without serving fresh (edible) food! That lasagna tasted like it had been frozen - thawed in a microwave with some sauce on it.
