Major issues with this mover. DO NOT HIRE if you have anything of value. They are careless, do not pad furniture corners, and will not walk you through the Bill of Lading at the end of the move. Nearly $20k in damages to our furniture was caused by careless, lazy movers: * Olympia did not secure furniture pieces to the dolly and one went flying down the stairs, crashing into our wall, causing damages to our home and destroyed the furniture piece. * Olympia was rushing the dolly down the stairs so quickly that it caused a large dent in the wooden floor * Olympia dragged our metal table stand across our wooden floors and left large scrapes in the floor * Olympia never went over the Bill of Lading page by page, as required by law. * Olympia did not wrap our refrigerator doors and they flew open during the move causing the refrigerator to arrive full of maggots and mold. We had to pay $250 for it to be cleaned out. * One of our furniture pieces was nailed to the crate. I kid you not. They were so damn careless that they nailed the box closed through the furniture. read more

over the years we have used Olympia Moving and storage for several jobs here where I work. They have done everything asked of them which includes packing up and storing over 95,000 books to helping me move some office furniture around. Every time they're here we get some of the nicest people with the best attitudes. They are such a joy to have on-site and we look forward to their help every time. They have very large teams that can handle anything your ask of them and the smaller teams are super fun too. Gary, Matthew and Austin helped me today and they made the moves so easy and smooth. First of all, I have moved 18 times in 20 years - mostly job related with several cross country moves. I have used North American and Allied. Looking back I wish I would have used Olympia from the beginning. Nick, our sales rep was very accommodating and touched base with us every step of the way. He made sure that our moving and packing team was on time and on schedule. When we met our driver, Jeremy, I had no idea the influence he would have on the move. Think of the semi driver as the quarterback for the moving team. He controls the pace of the entire move and is 100% responsible for the safe transportation of the contents of your home, from one location to another. If you don't like your driver get another one. Trust me. Jeremy, was by far the BEST individual I have ever moved with. He was a young man with a ton of experience. We had several large pieces of furniture that required extra care and about half of our items were first going into storage and the rest into our new place. Jeremy was able to understand what we needed and then translate that to the packing crew. Not one item was damaged or went to the wrong destination. Would I recommend Olympia, YES. If all the employees are of similar caliber to Jeremy and Nick, you should have an excellent move. read more

My neighbor LZ has been getting his items ready for his move for several weeks. This week Olympia arrived to box up many items and they did a great job quickly. Today they came to pack up the truck. The guys arrived about 9am and left in 3 hours.They were very polite and respectful of all items. The trailer was packed up nice and neat and I am confident that the treasures will arrive safely at their destination next week. read more

Nikita and her team did a great job, very responsive and offered to unpack everything for me. Rebuilt all my furniture and didn't leave a mess in the process! Everyone is nice, efficient, and quick! DO NOT use them for out-of-state moves!!! We were told they would likely outsource our move using Wheaton, but we were assured of their full confidence in the quality of service we would receive, so much so that they included the full insurance coverage in my quote at no extra cost. The movers were friendly, wore masks as much as possible, and at no time did I question their ability to make my move a successful one. We tipped them for their hard work, and set off for MI. (Spoiler alert, I wish I could take back those tips!) A week later my belongings arrived in MI and it was a total disaster from there on out. The movers (in TX) had undoubtedly treated my belongings, everything I own, essentially my whole life, like garbage. A preschooler could've packed that truck with more care. Most boxes were crushed, smashed, dented, or simply torn wide open. Yes, even the ones marked "fragile". Then the big ticket items... gouges, scratches, and dents in my beautiful, practically new dining table, kitchen table, LG washer & dryer, Simple Human trash can, and Vizio smart TV. I feel like they made it their goal to ruin everything value, and they succeeded. Moving out of state is stressful enough, then to know I paid almost $7000 to have a crew of careless, clueless, thoughtless people throw and stuff my belongings in so haphazardly that finding a box intact was nearly impossible. I truly could've done this move better myself, for a fraction of the cost! And that insurance? Oh, they can repair my dining table, they're replacing the broken smaller items, but the rest of the big ticket damage is nothing more than a small dollar amount for "loss of appearance". I paid $7000 to have my valuable items made to look like garbage, "but hey, here's a little something since it looks like crap now but still works, thanks for your business! ". So if you're looking to Olympia for an out of state move, keep on looking! They got my business, passed me off to a bunch of unskilled movers, and never looked back. If you are considering a crew of Wheaton movers in TX, just don't! The MI guys who unloaded me couldn't believe that professional movers had acrually packed that truck, they said it was no surprise at all that I sustained so much damage. All in all, my worst move thus far, and I've moved A LOT. read more

ago MICHELLE JENKINS / Olympia Movers is UNETHICAL and UNPROFESSIONAL!! Buyer beware! She presented a reasonable quote, we went under contract, and just two weeks before our move in peak summer season, she sent a text stating there would be an additional fee of $2038.25 in order to keep the dates on our contract! At this peak time of the year, it's nearly impossible to secure another long distance mover on such short notice. 14 days from my move date, confirmed by contract, Michelle sends me a text (not even professional enough to call me) that says "due to their summer schedule, my move was kicked out of the system based on mileage and weight?! Furthermore, my load date was pushed out 4 days to June 9th (my contract says June 5th and I no longer own my home on new load date of June 9th) and my delivery window was also moved to 4 days earlier which is 4 days before we close on the new house. The "forced" new dates on both ends won't work because of the timeframe in which we are selling our current home and buying a new home. All of which was explained in extensive detail to Michelle prior to contract. If we don't agree to the new dates, Olympia will charge an additional fee of $2,038.25 to change me to "day certain" move! I was irate and asked her why didn't she explain their "summer schedule" limitations during our many conversations reviewing the contract? As the salesperson, how come she wasn't aware of how her company works during peak summer season? I have a contract with the specific dates, so how can she do this? In a detached, monotone, and unapologetic manner, she repeated the same response..."that's just the moving business". She refused to answer my questions, patronizingly said she was trying to help me, and them hung up the phone. I called the corporate office to report Michelle's bait and switch unethical behavior and to speak to someone else about my move. Michelle's tactic was to quote low, pretend she is helping you to contain costs, and then to charge you additional fees in the 12th hour when your window to find another option is closed. Michelle's conduct is disgusting and disgraceful! Olympia / Wheaton needs to know she is damaging their reputation in an industry known for unscrupulous tactics. read more

Excellent company to use for a move. We moved from Georgetown, TX near Austin to the Houston area. We have moved a total of 14 times over the years, and this was by far the easiest move we've ever had. They packed our whole house in 5 hours and loaded the truck the next day in about 4 hours, met us the following day and unloaded in less than 4 hours. They took great care in watching to make sure there was no damage to the home we left and the one we moved into and nothing was damaged in the move. I would highly recommend this company if you need a qualified and professional company to make your move as easy as possible. I have moved overseas 3 times before but this is the worst experience we have ever had. Our contact was Mark Huff in Austin. He seemed a very amiable, professional man but what was to follow during the shipment of our family home from Austin to Dublin, Ireland has been a nightmare: - When the movers were packing they smashed a valuable lamp, they agreed to compensate us straight away but it took months & lot of chasing Mark & Sally in Accounts to finally receive the money. - While in our house, the movers asked me a few times when trucks were arriving & the size of my container etc. They should have known this. It was up to me to find this out although I paid for a door to door service. - I was not charged any money by them & had to email them a few times before I received the final invoice, 2 months after the shipment had set sail. This may seem like an advantage but I knew we would be charged & needed to budget for it. - The biggest issue was when the shipment did finally arrive, There were a number of items missing - our brand new leaf blower was gone and a parts box, containing all the parts of our beds & lamps, rendering them useless. There were a few items also broken including a chair, stool & a number of smashed picture frames & dishes. - Luckily we were fully insured, I lodged the claim 2 months ago & have sent them a number if emails but am still waiting for an update. - to cap it all off, they left a whole cabinet full of our personal items in our house. They did ship to me a few months later but I am now receiving invoices from FEDEX for import duties as they selected the "Receiver pays fees' box. I have been emailing Mark Huff for almost 2 months to pay the charges who has said he has asked his accounts team to do so but still nothing. As I said, we have moved overseas before and despite a couple of broken small items, we've never had any issues, this experience has been v stressful & the time spent trying to get them to make amends & claim our insurance is demoralizing. read more

Our move from Austin TX to WY was fabulous. Michelle Jenkins, our salesperson, came to our house to give the original estimate and was spot on. Candace Long, our move coordinator, was helpful in communicating the move details as we got closer, and answering our questions. The Austin crew (Victor, Will and Ray) was very efficient and had things loaded up quickly and safely. The Laramie crew (Stacy and Joseph) also did a great job and efficiently unloaded the truck, setting things up in our new house. Matt, our driver, was incredible in keeping us updated and managing both crews. All of our stuff arrived safely and not a single thing was broken! I do not leave reviews often but I could not miss the opportunity to praise Olympia Moving and Storage. I worked a lot of my career in the federal government and so I have moved a lot in my time. I can honestly say this was the best team I have ever worked with. David and his guys were prompt, courteous us and very forward thinking. They helped arrange and move things and often went above and beyond. As a single woman it is also rare that when men are in and out of your house for this long of a time you do not have your guard up. I never once felt weird around them and they put me at ease. There was also an issue with the company who moved my pods where they placed them that they could not get my refrigerator in. So their operations manager took it on himself to jump at the last minute (the company picking up the pods did not give me a time frame and only a 20 minute heads up) and came and moved the fridge out himself. Honestly I can not recommend this team enough. I had a gentleman by the name of David and his crew but everyone I interacted with at Olympia was exceptional. (I worked through a moving service for my move and Olympia was the only piece of the cross country move puzzle that was not a stress.) I would have paid them double if I had the ability to do so.
