We hired Olvera painting to do our house. We saw their Facebook photos and it looked nice from the posts and we just wanted to get our house painted soon. So we trusted the photos and hired them. Oh what a mistake!! They gave us a quote, and we were okay with it. The day before the job, when I checked with them to confirm that we will see them tomorrow, they dropped a message that the quote doesn't include ceiling. We were left shocked and wondering, who provides interior painting quotation without ceiling? We realized that they are trying to get more money and this is their way to swindle, $500 to be precise. We knew we can't do anything now since tomorrow we have to start painting, so we agreed. What is upsetting is that it's not even 5 months and all the painting started to look two visible toned and half done. Paints are fading, we started to discover spots with poorly done job, and now even the guests and family who often visit, can easily identify these spots and fades and ask us who did this awful job? Humiliating in a way. The way they conned us for ceiling a day before, we are wondering if they actually did 2 or 3 coats of painting, otherwise why will they look so faded and off color? Please look into the photos to grasp what an awful job it was and how the color look to get better understanding. I suggest better do it yourself than to hire these people. We are upset that even agreeing to their quotation, the paint couldn't even last 5 months. read more

They're humble and funny guys too! We planned on painting the exterior of our house last year after I finished painting the inside. I know my limitations and didn't want to gamble on the exterior. Needless to say there were a lot of delays in 2020. Fortunately I used that time to do a lot of research and educating myself with some of the local painters. Let's face it; any upgrade, remodel or refacing you do to your house is an investment and you don't want to use inexperienced people or lower quality material just to save a few bucks. Sometimes "you get what you pay for". After a few conversations with Martin and educating myself on not just the brand, but type of paints he would use, I gladly Chose Olvera to paint my house. He never hesitated to answer any questions I had and explained his process thoroughly. He also explained the different suggested paints required and why. His quote was reasonable and vey competitive to the other quotes I received. Martin and his team were very systematic and thorough in the prep and execution of this job. His staff was professional and considerate of my property. They requested me to walk the job several times to make sure the work was to my liking. Completely transformed our house! It Looks great! Martin's team paid extreme attention to fine details- especially with the more intricate work on the doors and security screens from the correct type of paint (DTM [Direct To Metal] for the screens), the masking and control of overspray, to paint choice for doors and care for the hardware. We are so happy with the work that was done on the exterior of our house by Olvera painting. They took their time prepping the house and power washing. We were unsure of the color, but he made the colors and trim pop. Just a few days later we decided to light a fire in our bedroom fireplace for the first time and ended up staining the fire place. I spoke to Martin approximately a month ago and I scheduled an estimate, he promptly came out the next day and looked over my home and said he would have a written estimate within 24hr and he did. I have to note that I asked for his business card last year while he was painting another home in my neighborhood which came out beautiful. He and his crew shows up on time everyday (7am). They pressure washed, taped, prepped, masked the entire area and worked around our dogs as well. The paint he used was premium Sherman-Williams and applied it with a spray gun and back rolled the entire house as well. My home came out spectacular with a two tone color and beautiful accented door in a semi gloss black. He cleaned up after I was satisfied with the paint job and hauled off all the excess debris. I have nothing but good things to say about Olvera Painting. Martin and his crew spent 4 days painting the inside of our house and we are thrilled with the results. They arrived early each morning, then worked as a team to do a very professional job. They taped everything off and moved furniture (gently I might add), so that everything not being painted was protected. The ceilings were sprayed the first day. The next 3 days the walls and trim got brushed and rolled. It is not an easy home to paint as the ceilings in several areas are quite high, but these gentlemen didn't flinch at being at the top of a 20 ft ladder. When the job was completed, the crew cleaned up all the tape and coverings and hauled it all away, leaving the house clean.
