The store is very big and carries a lot of inventory. It feels like a place that would be swimming in bargains, but very few great deals were found. Many products look old, dusty or outdated. They had books, food, clothes, household, tools, light bulbs, and lamp shades. The prices are lower than regular price at other stores, like a can of Pringles going for $1.60 here vs $2.00 at Walmart. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2025

This is my fourth Ollie's. It is in my rotation for household items. We did a big purchase today of an air frier / toaster oven but also picked up pretzels, chips, and pantry items like salad dressing and microwavable rice. I see back-to-school as a big business for them. We were hoping to find an air-conditioner but we need a wall-mount unit. The staff have been friendly and helpful at all locations. Last month I finally signed up for their loyalty club and got the 15% off of my purchase today; it was over $20 off of items that are already cheaper then elsewhere!

First time at any Ollie's, this Streamwood location makes use of a lot of floor space to provide a wide variety of products at discounted prices. We were eating close by, and needed to stop by to a new hair dryer. We saw the giant Ollie's sign, and my MIL exclaimed "I like Ollie's...like Big Lot's...but BETTER". So we needed to stop by there first (there was always a Walmart near by if the attempt was a wash). There were signs everywhere proudly proclaiming how they are able to sell so cheap (bought volume from bankruptcies)...though pretty sure they buy excess inventory. It did remind me of a Big Lots, but a lot better selection. It turns out, they did have a name brand hair dryer, and they bought a hair straightener too. They had a very large book section with a lot of hardcover books at discounted prices (e.g. $5.95). There were things like air mattresses, small kitchen appliances, a large selection of room rugs (12x15 for $119!) in the back, different sizes of auto wiper blades, and even lawn fertilizers. Checkout consisted of one line, so took a bit of time. They clearly mark their return policies, which is very generous. And they accept credit cards with no service charge. The very large Walmart close by seemed to have chased a lot of the retail stores out of this area. It's nice to see that Ollie's seems to be doing well, giving more reason to come by this area.

The place is filthy to the point where it smells bad. They obviously don't give a damn about their customers or whether they have customers.

The wonderful employee also pointed out their indestructible books for my chewer of a 11 month old. She was very helpful and sweet! I can't remember her name but we talked about reading with our nieces. It was really a great experience. I heard her handle other customer situations SO WELL. Really just wonderful service. I hope she gets recognition! They have books for kids of all ages and backgrounds. I'm excited for mine to move beyond the board book stage so we can get some of their other amazing books!

It's quite a nice size for being in the mall. They have a good selection on all genres. You can find new releases here along with some old favorites. They also have a bargain book section in the back. They utilize their space quite nicely. Everywhere you turn, there are books! I love it! Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. You can also join their rewards program and get discounts for books you purchase, just by being in the program! For an independent store, you can find a lot of discounts/deals. It's nice to see because I would rather invest in a locally owned shop.

Living in the Chicago area, it's surprisingly hard to find new age/spiritual/metaphysical shops…read morearound. I had gotten a recommendation of this place after the metaphysical store near me closed down over a year ago. I have been to Quest a few times now, but I finally managed to remember to write a review for them! The shop is fairly sized with books on just about every subject that deals with Religion, spiritual, metaphysical, Native American, Egyptian, Buddha, Chakras, Meditation, Angels and lots lots more! They have an area in the back where you can sit on a couch and read a book if you're deciding on whether or not to buy it. I spent a good twenty minutes or so flipping through a few books and I ended up buying one, I am glad I didn't feel rushed to read and make a choice! Not only do they carry a wide assortment of books, but they carry soaps, sprays, roll ons and other natural products like that. Their crystal and stone assortment is massive! I ended up purchasing a good 15 stones or so and the size of the other stones they carry range from small to huge. I saw a huge amethyst crystal about the size of my head, I believe it was around $200. I wish I could buy it, but anyway, they also carry tarot and angel an esoteric cards and more card assortments. Their candle and incense assortment is also pretty big. They carry different branded and packaged incenses as well as different types of candles for whatever your need may be. I ended buying a candle, as well as natural soaps on sale, a book and many crystals/stones. The gentleman at the counter did an amazing job of answering the many questions I had and he knew a lot about many of the subjects/topics the store carries. I felt like I could ask him anything. Anyway though my visit was awesome, a slow day during the week is best to visit so you can take your time browsing, especially if you're like me and don't like people poking into your business and hate being rushed. Since I live kind of far, I always make each visit a special one. I've also had my aura read here and got a 20 page personal report about me and my aura. Ask about that as well as the other reading that they do weekly. I am a customer for life!

After losing our Crystal Lake Barnes and Nobles and Borders decades ago, I sorely missed having a…read moreclose place to run to when I wanted to browse for books. While the opening of this store coincided with the closing of the Spring Hill Mall location, I gotta say-- I'm so happy to have a close bookstore again! Barnes and Noble has been slowly moving away from the stores of yesteryear and most sport a new redesign. The stores are (or at least look) smaller and have a more sterile feel to them. They've very streamlined. The big customer service desk is gone, as is the music department, which for years have laid pretty dormant at most Barnes and Nobles, truth be told. The inventory of CD's and DVD's is much, much smaller than before, so if that's why you visited Barnes and Noble, you'll be disappointed. The same goes for if you shopped their for magazines, which have been severely cut as well. The Children's area has lost a bit of charm, as well, losing the fun storytime tree/nook and cute wall decorations. The children's area is less enclosed than in the older stores. The cafe is present and had a lot of seating, which is nice. It is not as separate from the actual store as in many Barnes and Nobles. As far as books, I feel like there is less of a selection because of the new direction. That being said, there's still plenty to browse and while corporate redesign has changed a bit of the vibe of the stores, it's still a good place to go and relax or to wander about when you just need something to do. I'm happy to see a new BN near by and know I'll frequent it often.
