In todays economy its nice to find low prices. Took a star off for disorganization, but it truly doesn't bother me.

Not a fan of their hours but so happy to have finally made it here! This place definitely qualifies…read moreas a hidden gem or a less-traveled CLE shop. I could easily spend hours here, and did, last Sunday! What gorgeous decor, layout, vibes and selection they have! Workers were really friendly as well. The prices of books were high though--no discount at all for new books. Fine to support local but this is why the library will still always be my favorite. What I was confused about is how the books are organized because it is not by author nor by used/new. I'm pretty sure new books were placed right next to pre-owned ones on the same shelf... I did enjoy all the gift and merchandise displays. They were all set up in a way that looked irresistible to buy! My BF bought this photography coffee table book he was really excited about and I got a children's novel illustrated by Jon Klassen (big fans!).

Whether you are a book lover or not, there's something for everyone in this wonderful place. The people working there were very knowledgeable and friendly. The book collection alone is incredible. There is multiple room rooms and the sanctuary holds very old and important books and is definitely interesting to look around in. They also have a cute gift shop that has very cool gifts and handmade items as well. Totally a great find if you are looking for something fun to do, or just looking for a few books.

Its a nice book store. It was clean and easy to navigate. They have a nice selection of used and…read morenew books. I thought I'd buy a book, but instead I bought a necklace. At their register, they have a little selection of jewelry.

Walls of Books is an amazing bookish vibe! I love everything about it. It's a locally owned, small…read morescale equivalent of your big box book retailers - BAM or B&N. It has everything you need and more than enough impulse buys! During fall it smells pleasantly like the loveliest fall scents! I loved everything about! I visited during a book crawl (ah yes, it's a thing and I loved everything about it too!!!) INVENTORY: There are plenty of categories at this store that you'd normally find at corporate book stores. Some categories really impressed me. There is a shelf of foreign language books. There is a kids section with books and plushies. There are plenty of souvenirs that I really appreciated. Especially loved Freida McFadden game and book nook! There are multiple shelf of used book with pretty good finds. The associates at the store shared that they tend to look at local book clubs' reads and stock the books. I easily found a book that I couldn't find anywhere locally (indie store or large retailers). MY BUYS: My friend and I browsed this store for awhile. I wish that I had hours to browse that day. We both purchased a popular thriller at full price (market price). We felt really good about supporting local. SERVICE: The service was really amazing! My friend and I asked about potential international reads for our international book club. It was a very obscure question. Within minutes the associates provided us with a huge list of potential books. I've never seen such accommodation and efficiency! We were able to also ask a lot about the store and inventory. We were treated so nicely. The service is simply incredible! MEMBERSHIPS: There are a few memberships and savings available at this store. Free membership allows you to sign up for free, then you get $5 off when you spend $100. The paid membership is $20 for one year. You will get 10% during every purchase. I'll look into memberships during my next visit. I really loved The Walls of Books! Love the selection! Love the service! Love that I can find local book club reads! I will be back to shop here for book club finds and winter book hoarding. I very highly recommend visiting this store!

GREAT book shop on Coventry! Love the wide selection of books, gifts, totes, and more. People who…read morework there are kind and always helpful! Their loft space is also whimsical and cute. Little drawbacks are that the prices of books can be a little high, but better than most bookstores-- and it's pretty narrow. Do not recommend trying to go in with a stroller!

Mac's Books is a well-loved indie book store in Cleveland Heights Coventry neighborhood. It's been…read moreimpressively part of the community since 1982! It's everything that you'd expect from a bookstore - wood accents, endless shelves of books, zines, magazines, bookish souvenirs, and cute bookmarks. This bookstore often makes it to "must visit" CLE bookstores. Selection: Mac's has a wide range of literature from the timeless classics (think Jane Austen) to modern lit (think Emily Henry). There are three levels of books with genres ranging from romance to history. Each category is well organized and labeled. It's definitely the store to find eclectic reads on specialized topics. You'll also find new and used books, greeting cards, pretty journals, bookmarks, bookish totes, and other accessories at this store. You can order everything that you can't find at checkout. I historically purchased nature-inspired reads, and today Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" for my book club. It was a gorgeous and compact version for $15. Who doesn't love a compact book that you can take everywhere? Service: Service is consistently very friendly. They always ask you if you found all your reads in a genuine manner. I really enjoy my interactions with everyone at Mac's - employees and readers. Events: This book store hosts very interesting book events for the community. Open air poetry readings, silent readings at nearby Phoenix Coffee, haikus and meditations, book clubs, and other gatherings are hosted here. Check out flyers at their store or their Facebook page. I previously visited their event with typewriter printed poems for Valentine's Day and had a ton of fun! Parking: City parking garage is available across the street (free parking). There is limited street parking. Availability of the latter really depends on the time of the day. I highly recommend visiting Mac's if you're in the mood to browse. Make sure to check every corner, there are so many great finds for your TBR! Explore the area's dining spots in the Coventry neighborhood while you're visiting. There are some dining gems here!

Clevo Books is a unique downtown destination. It's the only store in Cleveland that offers books…read morethat can be described as translated global literature (second in the wider Cleveland area). The owner opened the store after spending some of her career as a translator (German-English). It feels important that all of us become more globally minded, so I deeply appreciate that this store is part of our literary city culture. AMBIANCE: The bookstore has simple and clean aesthetic. One open space and cozy reading nook toward the back of the store. The store is located in a historic building so you'll enjoy years of architecture. The interior is pleasantly modern despite historical surroundings. INVENTORY: The inventory is continuously growing. The bookstore focuses on adding the classics to the shelves and books published within the last few years. Accessories include cards, puzzles, and other souvenirs. Inventory is conveniently organized by country. Original languages include Russian German, French, Norwegian, Portuguese, Polish, Persian, Farsi, Finnish, Catalan, Czech Slovak, Chinese, Japanese, Estonian, Finnish, and more. All inventory is translated and is in English. You won't find books in your native language. There are also nooks by genre - graphic novels, speculative fiction, mystery, crime, poetry, early reader, and more. It's easy to find whatever your TBR contains. I purchased Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment for $20. It's my favorite Russian literary classic. Books vary in price, some are even $5-10, which is so budget friendly! I'm an avid international literature reader as a hobby and as a member of international reads book club. We read books in translation. It's always hard to find non-depressing literature (not war, not political crisis, and historical heavy content). This store has lighter literature from various countries so you can read for entertainment. That's very hard to achieve! SERVICE: The owner of the store is very friendly. What I love the most if her drive and ideas to improve the store, which I learned about during my brief visit. That and she's very open to recommending books and genres. Ask her about your next read, she's phenomenal at recommendations. EVENTS: The store hosts periodic events for the community such as readings and book clubs. Check them out especially if you live downtown! You can also host your own events in this space! MEMBERSHIPS: The bookstore offers memberships that can be purchased at a price of $5 to $50 per month. I attached a photo with all the tiers. They offer access to events, opportunity to host your own events, Clevo Books swag, and community feel. I enjoyed my first visit to Clevo Books! I love international literature so it's nice to find a place in the city that caters to this passion. I don't have to support big retailers any longer, can just shop local for global books! Not all cities have this option, we should feel so lucky. Whether you're a downtown resident, visitor from the suburbs or out of town, you'll find your next interesting read here. Stop in!
